Bought this along with my new tankless, as I was planning on running 3in vent pipe. The vent termination kit came with only basic instructions, but if you do research, you can see that it can be cut down to the length you need by removing the tail piece where the 2 pipes join, and measuring the distance that the inner pipe sticks out. Just remember to keep that distance when you cut down the length. Also remember that the inner pipe sticks out the other direction as well, so measure while the vent cap or headpiece is in place. Just remember measure twice, cut once. :)

A lot of $ for plastic pipes, I don't under stand why these are not store stocked, if you stock the Tankless water heater, shouldn't you stock these as well.

The product, it self, was good But. Home Depots web page showed it fitting the tankless water heater that has 2" vent system. It like trying to put a 3" ball in a 2" hole. I returned it and bought one directly from Rheem.

Excellent piece, really saves work and easy to install.

My old hot water heater was vented out the top, and it was much more cost effective to just use standard PVC. so it was returner to store.

Excellent part that is well made but it was too long to work in my application..

This was the suggested vent system on the home depot web page when I placed the order for my Rheem tankless water heater. I went to install the water heater to find that it has 2” intake and exhaust vents and this vent system is 3”. Imagine my frustration...

Not good. Sent it back for a return. The tankless was delivered with everything needed.

Was recommended with my thankless water heater and they are 2 inch intake and exhaust, so the recommendation was incorrect for the model I was buying. Don't Suggest something the will not work.

I had my tankless heater installed with vertical ventilation through the roof. This product eliminated the need for an extra roof penetration, as we used the conventional heater's existing one, which had to be enlarged slightly. I wouldn't have thought of this, but my plumber recommended it. Connecting the intake and vent pipes required the removal of some (most) of the drywall ceiling in the closet, but who's going to notice? This kit will work with other heaters besides Rheem - mine is a Noritz. My only suggestion would to have it available in several longer sizes - to eliminate the ceiling issue, I would have used a 6-footer. This product disassembles into four component parts - two pipes, the cover, and the y-fitting. In my opinion, the only irreplaceable part is the y-fitting, but Rheem has cleverly made the unit un-reproduceable by making the center pipe 2". Try finding 2" PVC pipe.
