I needed this for a camper city water hose. It works great for that; however, not sure how it would work for general duty due to it having plastic threads.

This product is perfect for repairing my hose cart connection. However, I was told by HD customer services dept that it is not sold in stores nor online. I want to know why, as well as when it will be back.

One of the screws was stripped and could not be removed. I decided to just throw the hose away.

      It is a plastic fitting
For plastic, it works. However, I wish there was an option for an all metal fitting.

Plastic is inferior to metal but you have no other choice for 1/2" hose repairs
My local stores did not carry any 1/2" hose repair/mender products despite selling 1/2" hoses. So I ordered two pair each of Ray Padula male, female, and connectors from Home Depot online. I had previously tried to stuff a 5/8" male into a 1/2" hose and trust me -- size does matter. The 1/2" male went in just fine, but trying to secure the screw down cap was a joke, and the 1/2" hose was not that thick. The screw ended up stripping out the plastic. It's on there, but it's not as designed. I wish someone made metal 1/2" hose repair parts. The only ones that come close use a ridiculous hose clamp that gets caught on everything.

A bit too big for my purposes
I used this to make soaker hose segments from a soaker with a plastic tube insert. I had done this before with other adapters without a problem, but this one was difficult to use because the insert was a little too thick.

convenient purchase of hard to find item
this smaller size (1/2 inch) hose repair is hard to find, so it's good to have it available on line for smaller hose diameters. good product, works well, reasonable price

        Does the job
If you want to repair an old hose and extend its life for a while, this is the product for you. Cut the old end off, or the part of the hose that is damaged, and put these new ends on it. Mind that you get the right ends for the right thickness of hose.
