A:  The male threaded end is a standard hose connection and will accept anything that uses standard hose fittings.

A:  I don't think a washer is supposed to be part of this item. The hose fits over the internal nipple and the clamp secures the hose. Be sure that you are using the correct size repair item for the hose. The clamp should fit tightly over the hose and should actually deform the hose over the internal nipple. Tighten well.
