Customer Reviews for ProSeal 20 ft. Bulb Seal Replacement Insert with 3/8 in. T-End

Temporary repair. Originally intended to replace the entire seal (approximately 20 years old) instead I decided to cut off two six inch pieces of the bulb seal replacement insert material one at each end of the door where apparently the existing seal had constricted somewhat over time. The existing original seal is fabricated from a different in design, wider, thicker and more sturdier that the bulb seal replacement material. No reason to remove the exiting seal until I can find an exact replacement. Although the bulb seal replacement material is not equal to the existing seal it serves form, fit and function - keeping critters out of the garage .There is enough of the bulb seal replacement material remaining that in event I need to replace the existing original seal in its entirety I can if I can't find the original seal. Make sure to precisely measure the door seal groove. 1/4 inch "T- End" (web) will not remain in place in a 3/8 inch groove. Silicone spray works well in facilitating installation.

Let me start off by reminding potential buyers that there are TWO SIZES for the T-End bulb seals - a 3/8" and 1/4" (referring to the width of the top of the "T" and corresponding to the size of the groove in your door). I wasn't sure which one to buy because when I measured the trapezoidal groove, the shorter side of the trapezoid was 1/4" and the longer was 3/8". I guessed and bought the 1/4"...and it was wrong - doh! The seal kept slipping out of the groove. Thanks to HD's return policy, I was able to return it and ordered the 3/8", which fit much better. Installation was a piece of cake. I removed the aluminum runner from the door so I could work on the ground, then cleaned it with a rag and air compressor. Even at a 60F ambient temperature I was able to work the seal into my 16'-long runner by myself in about 5 minutes. Yes, the seal comes folded many times in the box but it's very pliable and unfolded easily. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is because I wish the bulb diameter was greater than 1". The old cracked seal I removed was at least a 1.5", probably 2". Still, the new one gets the job done. Since HD's photos for both the 1/4" and 3/8" are identical (grrr...), I'm attaching a photo of a small section of the 3/8". Hopefully this helps someone decided between the two sizes.

The product is flimsy and not thick enough for the bottom of a garage door.

Bottom seal bulb should be larger, doesn't seal well, did slide into place easy.

his was very hard to get in and had to be trimmed and didn't work very well at all.

It was useless it was all kinked up when I received it and it did not seal the door all my work for nothing . Piece of junk

Perfect replacement seal for Garage door bottom. Need to make sure there is only one channel guide on bottom of Garage door before installing.

Lighter weight than thought...however, worked.

Will not fit in groove in door. Need clearer detail ordering info. :(

More difficult to get the old on out than install the new. Did need soap in the track and on the T to get it to slide in.
