Poor quality. Does not compare to an older model that I still have and prefer. This one smoked and burnt out within 30 minutes of removing from the box. I returned it and finished the project using a battery powered Makita.

The Porter Cable 11 Amp 1.75 HP Fixed Base Router Kit has lived up to my expectations. I mounted it on a router table and used it to fashion a piece of head casing trim that has #3 profiles, a bullnose at the top, a bead in the middle and a cove at the bottom. It performed admirably.

the base plate is ready to install jig bushings from the get go. the motor is not terribly loud and it mounts to the Royobi table easily. height adjustments are quick and easy. but the bit change out is with 2 wrenches instead of a quick stop and 1 as most others are.. not enough of an issue to take a star tho. when on a table you can quickly just pull it out of the base to change the bit without having to unscrew the plate over and over... I'll be picking up a 2nd base just to mount to the table permanently.

My fifth router, 4th like this. Not sure if I like ht. adjustment lock yet or not. Plenty of power for what it will be used for.

Liked that it came with 2 sizes of collets.

Lost my 30 year old Porter Cable router in a garage fire and just wanted to replace like for like. Very happy to find the same router that does everything expected of a router. Nothing fancy but what I do know is it will last at least 30 years.

We are using this with the Porter Cable Dovetailer. It works excellent!!

Needed a 1.75-2HP router to make Warmboard channels for a radiant heat installation. Porter Cable has the router with baseplate to fit the collet for Warmboard templates. All went as planned and in much better time than trying to jury rig things with an older router.

It is very good and very good quality.

Awesome router used it to mill stair stringers with a dovetail bit plenty of power. Also milled 200 feet of cove easy on the hands just make sure to tighten after every 1/2 hour of use.would buy another anytime.

Perfectly good single-speed router, made in the Americas, and all significant parts being solid metal, not plastic. If you plan on giving your router lots of work, and want to be sure it's compatible with most any plates/tables/templates, Porter Cable is a great choice. Their old model had a slightly longer power cable, which I miss, and the power button is on the small side, but overall, this is a workhorse that will pay itself back. Note: If you plan to fix this to a table or thicker plate, you need three 24-10 screws; the ones it comes with are too short for anything except the default plate.

So far I have mounted the router in my router table and it is working well.

Very light weight and best of all keeps the dust down. I have been building for over 20 years and by far the best one to date highly recommend this router.

I have 3 of these routers , they last forever , plenty of power , very versatile . I have had others but now only buy the PC 690

Bought this router to replace a 30 year old Craftsman router that I finally fried. Works great! Since I have the router mounted in an enclosed Bosch router table, the fine tuning feature is not useful, though. But regular height adjustment is easy enough.

This router is great, it is my first one so i have nothing to compare it to but so far so good! I can't wait to use it on other jobs!

Works very well. Strong motor and cuts well even with cheap bits.

This is a classic tool. The basic design is unchanged from a model I purchased twenty years ago. It worked flawlessly right out of the box and was seamlessly interchangeable with my old plunge base, wrenches, collets, micro-adjustable-fence etc. I would buy another one tomorrow.

I bought this with the only router table available at the store. The table said it was universal. It would fit, right? Well, not given the holes specified in the manual. Joe played with the two and was able to connect them. I did have a little trouble with the depth walking, but was able to adjust it. Now I am happily working on my porch/converted work station.

Very easy to use straight out of the box. It was heavy enough that it felt tough, but light enough that it was easy to use.

For me this is the Standard go to router out there. Same feel as 30 yrs ago . Runs like a horse

It is an awsome router. Work like a charm and the adapter for 1/2 inch bit save. the day. Recommend this product. Easy to work with and is plug and fun!
