Be careful with the cut size. The instructions are not clear. The door is great for our big dog and still low enough for my minpin too. Great buy!

My pup Pulls at it when we aren't home and completely removed the flaps. He's a Shiba/mix just turned 1. I've replaced the flap so many times now I just leave it open. Searching for new options...

Plastic snap cover is weak design. Plastic flex screws have a short life span, over tighten and SNAP, tighten - go get a real screw. Black interior wall plastic inserts should be white. Black causes the animals to hesitate like it's a hole or gap they could fall into. They make it very hard to put the thing together. One is in its tiny groove, then the next jumps out, on and on until divine intervention. Magnet double flaps are good. Frame casing is good.

The pet door itself is great. My dog is a 50 pound Blue Heeler/German Shepard mix, 7 months old. The door is a little big for him, but he's still a puppy and will grow. He gets in and out easily. My only issue with the door is the cover that goes over the door when you don't want the pet to use it. It snaps on just great, but then I can't get it off. It feels like I'm going to break it if I force it. So I lean it up against the pet door and he hasn't figured out yet that he only needs to push it over and he's out! I have another door that has a panel that easily slides down to close the door off and I like that better. If this doesn't matter to you, I'd recommend the door, but if it does, you might want to check other products.

Did not fit the existing hole in door. I used old door and new flaps from this purchase to make it work.

We finally installed this pet door into our garage door for our cat. He used it right away and so did my 4 year old. Wasn't too difficult to install at all. We used a skilsaw and had no issues. Took less than an hour and it looks great!

I put two doors back to back in a wall…saved a lot of money...

OK pet door, but I found no way to lock it, so will have to jury rig something. Otherwise, it's a touch flimsy and not particularly easy to install.

I have bought this door 3 times in a period of about 7 years. I guess it has a lifetime of about 2-3 years. I wished I didn't have to be replacing it so often and that the magnet didn't give away so easy and that maybe it included a replacement flap since that gets eaten away by the sun so quickly.

Could not use it. The existing dog door required too much work to install this one. THis was just slightly bigger than the old door but not big enough to preclude extensive refiguring and piece-meal work. I donated it to Horses with Heart for thier bowl-a-thon raffle prizes.

The medium door was what I was told to order for my dogs measurements, but it is too small. I am planning to exchange it for the "large" size, or get a refund on this one.

In the past, I've bought two pet doors for sliding glass doors and one door with a pet door installed. All have been great. I bought this pet door from Home Depot as a custom order expecting it to be good quality and it is not. The flap is not sturdy so it doesn't fall back into place. The magnetic strip is not strong so that doesn't help with it tightly securing after the dogs go through. Also, it opens when the wind blows or I open the door. There are two gaps on each side of the flap. We adjusted the length by moving up and down but the width is too big for the door so it is causing small gaps. This is letting alot of hot or cold air in and rain. Do not buy this door unless it is inside and you do not care about letting hot and cold air in. There are many others to chose from around the same price. Also, it comes with a cheap cover. It does not lock or add any security to the door. I'm sorry I paid a professional to do this because I can't afford to do it again or I would take it back.

This door has worked out well, but the instructions for installation were incorrect. There are plastic inserts that connect the inside and outside door frames. Cutting these plastic inserts to the correct width for your door is essential for a solid installation. The instructions said to cut the inserts to 'the width of the door' + 7/8". I did so, but it turned out that the assembly was then 1/4" too wide. Had I left it like this, the dog door would have sopped around inside the door, not fitting tightly. Fortunately, the plastic was too wide, so I cut it down to fit snugly. The instructions *should* have said to cut the plastic inserts to 'the width of the door' + 5/8". I don't know if the plastic has changed since the instructions were written. But be careful when assembling your door.

Seems to be working just fine for my dogs. I have a minpin and blue healer and they both have no problem using door. Want to see how it does after some ware and tear on the flap.

Works well except cover to close door does not stay on well.

For the money, this pet door is great. However, beware this is not a high quality product.

Install was easy takes 2 hours. My dogs love the freedom of going outside without help.

It is a basic unit I used on my garage door. For me it is partnered with a weather-sealed (double flap Endura) pet door going from the house to the garage.
