We were looking for kitchen flooring to install over existing vinyl. The Pergo we purchased fit the bill perfectly. The sales person was extremely helpful. There was some product in the store and we also had extra shipped to us. It arrived very quickly. Our overall experience with the purchase was very good.

The product is a laminate. Remember that means that it is little more than a painted over piece of wood [or in this case wood product]. It is just like the cheap wood products you find in the furniture departments in cheap furniture stores. Once you scratch it---it is ruined. It is very easy to damage. It is very expensive for what you're getting. I would recommend getting wood flooring product that is i/8" of solid wood, or thicker. Thus, you can sand off any damaged spots, and refinish it. By the way, the reason I bought this particular laminate flooring is that it is the only one my wife liked. And, she did not want wood flooring in our bathrooms and kitchen. One good thing about this flooring is that it is not nailed or glued down to the floor so it can be removed easily. This product is warranted for life--I hope it lasts. We just installed it last weekend.

The texture was very realistic. The panels were sometimes a little hard to snap together to form a tight joint, required more effort than other laminates I've installed.
