i bought two of these and got about a glass full and sprayer quit working , will not buy again , you may as well buy chemical and use a garden sprayer

Bought the product on Saturday and wand worked great. Two days later all I get is a thin stream not the wide spray I expected.

The product works very well killing and keeping ants and other crawling things away. I used a partial container (1.33 gallons) and put it up for the winter. Now (spring/summer) just tried to use it. The wand motor is working but the fluid is only sucked half way up the tube. Cannot see how the tube is replaced. How do you apply 1/2 container insect killer without a spray wand?

I like your product but I do not like your battery sprayer. It is not environmental friendly. What happened to the manual pull sprayer. It only required an arm and hand action, not batteries to throw in the dump or find a recycling center. Your battery operated sprayer makes me almost cuss! Trickle, trickle, trickle. Oh man, I need new batteries again…so safe for the environment…not

My biggest complaint is this so called comfort wand. It stops working after only a quarter of the bottle is used and it's not just 1 wand. I went and made the mistake of buying another large bottle and again the wand stopped working with only partial use. I've even replaced the batteries. Plus, the product is not as good as it was previously. Last summer season, I would spray outside perimeter and then inside in order to keep ants away. It did a good job. Not this year. Within a week the ants are back. I need to find another product that keeps the ants away and has a sprayer that works properly.

The battery operated wand doesn't work as advertised. I used mine twice and both times the spray was a dibble. Second time it stopped spraying completely as it appeared that nozzel was plugged. So I thought maybe I'll try new batteries. Same result. I will use up the liquid in a pump sprayer.

We have springtails. We sprayed the barrier and they are happy crossing over. Doesn't work. We need help. Any ideas on getting rid of springtails?

Product works on spiders and wasp drop in seconds they just fall not even a fight from 15 wasp lol the best spray and the yard stuff says mnth more like weeks but i can live with that cuz it paradise no flys or scitos at all great from planning yard stuff even bbqs and partys

I have used Ortho Home Defense for many years now. It has always done a great job of keeping the bugs away. The comfort wand applicator provided good coverage and was a lot easier to use than pump applicators.

I have used this for years and I swear by it! It has always worked at keeping the bugs away. No smell, dries quickly, and has never bothered any of my cats or dogs. Recently we moved and I had ants in my kitchen, went and pulled out my trusty home defense and the wand of course wouldn't work!!! grrrrrr Batteries are fine, it just makes the sound. I took the hose out and tried again... just keeps making the sound. Finally poured it into an extra spray bottle I had and used it to kill the ants and spray all my areas! What made it worse was the spray bottle started leaking and so I ended up with bug killer all over my hand! Please fix the wand issue! IT IS HORRIBLE.

I have been using this product for several years. I have always been satisfied with the product results, but someone needs to get involved with the applicator design issues on the 1.33-gallon containers. Do you have a Quality Control Department that does some testing? Ask them how they keep the coiled hose connected to the bottle cap while holding the bottle in one hand and the wand in the other hand. Then, include those instructions in the user media. Please don't allow a good product to go down the drain because of a design problem in the applicator.

I have yet to finish a jug of this. I've been using this product for years, and it works well to keep ants and spiders out. Years ago, the wand was a hand sprayer, you pumped the handle. Was it a pain after awhile? Yes. But it always worked. Then someone thought they had a better idea, and made a motorized wand. Now, I understand that for the price they couldn't spend a lot of money on making the wand, but on the other hand, it's worthless if it worked. Every one I've had since they went to this new wand has failed. The motor whirs like it wants to work. I check the batteries and make sure they're fully charged. Still nothing. Maybe a few dribs come spurting out. I would give this product a 5 star rating if it would actually deliver the spray.

I personally have had a great experience using this product, I spray every year. I sprayed inside the other day because the ants are back...but now they are gone :) but... The carpenter bees are back and bombing me under the carport!! They love the wood and burrow into it. good for the bees..bad for me and the carport! ORTHO...I HAVE ONE GRIPE! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE REDESIGN THE AUTOMATIC WAND!!! its doesnt spray consistently, it stops, starts and stops again! IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!!! My hands fatigue quick if i have to pump and spray. carpal tunnel left me with muscle atrophy and weak hands. I like it, it works but the battery powered automatic spray wand sucks!! oh, fyi I change the batteries before using!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the Home Defense Insect Killer works just as advertised - easy set-up, and made a clean sweep of those pesky bugs. More than enough product for multiple uses. Well worth the money, and I'll be purchasing again this year.

I've been buying this stuff for years. I spray it around my house foundation, windows and patio. It not only kills what may be lurking but even weeks after the fact I will find dead bug on the patio just trying to sneak their way in. I've never nit had it work. And we live in 2 acres with lots of critters

I've been using Ortho Home Defense for about 10 years if not longer and I've always counted on it & recommended it because I NEVER have ANY bugs of any kind. Until the last few months I've had German roaches of all things to have in FL. I've even tried spraying monthly to no avail. Now I'm about to buy a refill & I'm hesitant because of this. It's not keeping the mosquitos back like it used to or the ants. Did I just get a bad batch? I'm so conflicted about this

For the amount of 1 gallon i thought was a great deal but really do not work . Frustrating see the insect (just a roach ) getting away after 5 times pull the trigger directly in to the animal and just keep walking , i just finish killing the animal with my feet.

I just moved into an apartment and saw palmetto bug, which I'm terrified of, in the kitchen. So I got this spray because my friend recommended it. After spraying the perimeter I felt at ease. Exactly one week later there was another one palmetto, plus a German roach in the kitchen. Why didn't it work?

I really hope you post my review because this is my honest review and hope it helps others. In the summer time we get roaches yes summer only it’s not too bad but they come here I’ve tried everything so I came across Ortho after I bought it locally here I went on YouTube and watched videos on people using the product let me say people were saying it never worked for their roach problem. I decided to give it a try myself well I sprayed every where to create a barrier and they still came as if nothing happened I don’t get it all ! Why make a product so useless? I also have a huge sugar ant problem that’s a pain in the neck and this doesn’t remove them either. The sugar ants are almost every where the roaches aren’t bad the ants are and this fail to even kill them. I am going to continue to use something else find something that can actually get rid of pests.

After I sprayed the next day I'm not gonna lie, I started to worry. Then I started noticing I saw a lot less, went from wanting to run out of the room, to seeing like 5 one night then three, then it went to one, sometimes 2 babies one night to nothing for a few, then one here or there. I'm not in a home yet, it's a motel. For living in a motel and having the only room with nothing, it does say something about this produce. I have 3 dogs and a 3 year old in this room with me and it didn't harm any of them. That's a really good thing. So I feel when our place is ready for us to move in, we will not be taking any unwanted fentanyl with us.

Just used it last week and at night roaches in the kitchen and today on my bed. Never again, waste of money

More than have the jug left and the wand doesn’t spray. Not too confident that it keeps any big away for as long as it advertises.

Takes a few days on ants, but all other bugs seem to die quickly. It has a lasting effect. I respray about every 6 months spring and fall. The corners of my garage need swept out every few months for dead bugs that get in around the door edges. I could not be more pleased. I found a cockroach under a bench in our foyer and started to worry about infestation, but grabbed it with a paper towel and it was dead and desiccated. Haven't seen one again in years.

Does the job, really like the container and spray wand.

I bought this product home defense and it should be renamed to welcome home roaches. The problem got worse I sprayed a roach directly and it stopped turned around and curse me, I swear the roach didn't die for over 2 minutes. This is the worse product I've bought to rid my home of roaches.

Hands down the best household investment I’ve made! Moving in initially I had roaches and water bugs which I despise with a passion! I was looking sleep until I came across this Holy Grail! I’m so serious guys I haven’t seen a bug in 3 weeks! Don’t hesitate I promise you will regret not buying this stuff!

I used this product over the last 8 - 10 years, with good results. I bought my last jug less than a year ago, and I might as well be spraying water. The bugs are back where I sprayed the very next day. This is not the same stuff as I used previously. I won't be buying this any more.

I have had a board plank walk way in my back yard that allows water to just pool up under it so every summer I would get hit with too many mosquitos. For about a decade I would send my husband to get “the spray” because I didn’t know the name. It worked amazingly every year. Last year I sent him and he came back with a small spray can of crap, I told him I wanted the same one we always used - somehow he had forgotten. This past summer he swore to me that he sprayed the yard and perimeter. The bugs are out of control from mosquitos, yellow jackets spiders and now fleas. I wouldn’t let up until he showed me what he used and it was junk. pure junk. The last couple of weeks has been more than I can handle. Luckily I typed in flea tick mosquito home perimeter in my search bar and found the name of it. Home Defense Perimeter rescued me the first time, and every year after. So when the stores open, I’m grabbing some and doing it myself. Then I’m going to print a picture and stick it next to his computer- so he never forgets.

The product itself works great for my pest problem. The last two containers I bought I used one time each and then the sprayer no longer works. I bought the second one so I could pour the rest of the first bottle into but both sprayers stopped working after one use. I did replace the batteries and still did not work.
