Expected something that was more in the shape of this tree in the picture but a sapling was delivered. Needed it for two urns in front of our home to decorate with lights for Christmas....Kind of funny looking Charlie Brown tree. Great for laughs. Wished the actual plant that was delivered was pictured.

The jury is still out on these. They are already...
The jury is still out on these. They are already losing their dark green color. Not a good sign. I was surprised how small and immature they were.Pretty small for a one gallon advertisement. They both came with the root balls pretty much destroy and dry. I put them in the ground immediately with watering.
Thanks for the opportunity to vent

Really Just Planted---
The tree appears healthy. The top stem/branch was bent when received. I hope that straightens out. Otherwise I am looking forward to it becoming an attractive purchase for my yard.

Do you like to watch things grow?
Comes very tiny. But grows fast. The picture listed must be a 10 year old tree. Planted 1 month ago already gained 6-8 inches. Comes about 10 inch. Easy to plant / take care of.

No planting instructions.
Bought four to replace four emerald greens that died after eight years in the ground. Tag said scan box for plant info which it brings me to this site which has no planting instructions. I've planted three of these before with one dying within a year. As home depot has a one year warranty and I have had good results from the two that survived, I figuered I would try them again. I am going for a fast growing screen which I will have to prune as I don't want them any higher than twelve feet. I am hoping they survive as the green arborviteas I planted years ago grew slowly and just as they get to the height that I want them at they die.

18 inch Aborvitae bare-root trees-Excellent!
The trees cane fresh and green with wet newspaper wrapping the roots. They arrived on a Saturady morning, so I was able to get them in the ground the same day they arrived. Overall they were in excellent shape and I was very pleased with their health and quality. Planting bare-root trees is a much more economical way of planting lots of trees.

Product is great, customer interaction has minor flaws
When I discovered they were going to ship 8 trees to me in a box, I was skeptical that they would survive the trip. But they arrived healthy and ready to plant. So far they're doing ok, but I'm not sure if I'm giving them the correct amount of water.
The shipping details were not clear. It appeared that it would take 6-8 business days to receive them, so I set aside some time to plant them. Instead, I received them 2 days after I ordered them. I was busy w/ other stuff, so I had to scramble to get them planted.
I don't think the watering instructions were very clear either. They came on a printed sheet in the box -- I looked at it while I was planting the trees, but becuz I was rushing, I lost the instructions. And they don't seem to be available on the website, which is ridiculous. Now the trees have some yellow spots, and I don't know if it's becuz I'm over-watering or under-watering

are you serious
For the lady who said she rather plant cypress. First, the worms "bag worms" came from a nearby host, like your yard or your neighbors. Second, unless they were sprayed in the very beginning stages, you wasted your money and chemical, they have to be sprayed before they mature in the bags. Lastly, the Green giant is a fantastic evergreen worth buying and if you look at your landscape and notice bag worms, just pull the bags off the tree, which would be the best control because they like cypress trees also, and just about anything else, especially evergreens.

Bad experience
I returned them. They were too small and dying. I will never order things from Home Depot online again.

Pest problem!
I purchased 13 4-6ft tall arborvitae to use as a privacy screen. Within two years they were infected by a commonly known moth/worm that gets inside the leaves and makes them turn brown. I paid an additional 500 dollars to a specialist to spray them to try to save them. Most of them came back, but I have about 4 that still need treatment. Had I known this, I would have purchased the leyland cypress. Make sure you research this pest issue before you purchase!!!

Poor quality
I ordered (3) online expecting them to arrive by truck in 7 gal. buckets. Instead, I got 3 "branches" with softball-sized root balls delivered by UPS.

Arizona
I bought 3 and when 1 box showed up, I was bit surprised. So I planeted them right away but we will see if they survive the Arizona summer. I did put a custume shade over the plants to help them from not burning up. Overall great service and product.

Green Giant Arborvitea
Ordered 3 Green Giant (Thujia) Arborvite a couple of days ago. Plants came in a very small box two days later. Was hoping to receive 3 individual plants, and thought they would be bigger(description stated plant would be 12''). Plant itself measures only 6-7" not including root clump. Plants came in very good condition. Planted accordingly per directions and watered. Using the Green Giant as a "privacy screen" seemed to be the best choice because of it's ability to reach several feet per growing season. Plant should be 6ft. by next year...I'm hoping for some added privacy from my neighbors. Will review again in 1 year. Eagar to see how fast these babies can grow!
