A: Hello, the actual size of our #1 Trade Gallon is approximately 6" deep x 6 1/4" wide and while it is called a gallon, the actual soil volume held is .667 gallons. And, yes, it would be a very similar size to "trade gallon / 2.5 Qt" (which is .625 Gal).

A: Hey Sweat , l am not really sure about that , but since tree is mostly conical in top growth l would suspect that the below grounds roots might be similar , but more spread out too ,as below ground some roots go deep to anchor the tree , others spread out to search for water ,and nutrients . l think anywhere in open yard , or grounds this tree would be alright to plant if given room to grow on as it is a Western Red Cedar tree , but compared to say Poplar, or willows this would not as invasive to water pipes as those type of trees. However l would not advise to plant near a sprinkler head , or known under ground pipes . Hope this helps , good luck.

A: Yes this Green Giant is a trade name for a Hybrid cross between the Japanese Standishi Cedar ,and the Western Red Cedar tree. The appearance of the tree favors the Western Red Cedar the most ,with the added advantage of a fast growth rate ,and not producing seeds. So once established in the ground ,and happy in its environment this tree can grow up to 3 or more feet a year in the right conditions which are well watered ,and a good organic type soil. So bottom line on size, this is a large Giant tree if left to grow on as its genetic DNA it is a tall forest tree so every year it is alive it will add some height, and also width over time , but for many years it will stay somewhat slender, but at say forty years maturity a width of 20 feet or more is likely so make sure you give this beauty some adequate space to grow on as pruning may ruin its natural conical shape ,also this tree will retain lower branches ,and foliage for many years. So yes a great tree , but a forest size tree in time . Good luck...

A: same level as planted in the pot
by|Jun 21, 2019
A: PLANT THIS TREE AT THEE SAME LEVEL IT IS IN THE POT . Perhaps one inch lower , but no more ,and remember this is a fast growing large Western Red Cedar tree so give it ample room to grow fully so in future you will not have to hack prune it ,and ruin its natural spire like shape . This is a lush beautiful tree so good luck with it . Water it well too as it grows .
