Making a display case for jewelry so the clear top had to be not only clear, but strong. This product met and surpassed both these goals. Plus it is very light weight.

I used the 36 in. x 48 in. x 0.093 in. Acrylic Sheet to replace one of my garage windows that my son accidentally broke with a hockey ball. Instead of using glass which would have to be cut to size and installed by a contractor (most likely) I decided on using Acrylic. The Acrylic Sheet was easy to cut with a specific Acrylic cutting 'knife' that I had to buy as well (located next to the Acrylic Sheets at the Home Depot). Removing the broken glass and installing the Acrylic Sheet was very easy and once I removed the protective plastic from the Acrylic Sheet you cannot tell that it is not glass. I was a bit concerned about the thickness of this specific size sheet, but once cut to size (40 in. x 13.5 in.) the Acrylic Sheet was not 'floppy' anymore. Doing this with glass would have easily cost me $200 (contractor). Going with the DIY option got me out the door for ~$55 (Acrylic Sheet + 'knife') and provided me with enough left over Acrylic that I can replace another garage window if it would ever happen again. I hope this review will help other parents with active kids. :-)

I bought this to laminate together for router jigs. The first thing was a base plate that attached to my router base and then dropped into the router table I had made. The second is for a jib that the router attaches to and is used to create a larger working surface when cutting mortises, tenons, rabbets, dados, etc. I cut this on my table saw and in order to avoid chipping or cracking the plexigass at the end of the cut you have to cut into one end, flip the piece and make the rest of the cut. This way when the blade is near the end of the cut, the material is already done and cannot crack or break. I laminated these sheets with CA glue and clamped them. I used countersink bits to drill holes through and have the screw heads sit below the surface. For the router table plate, I drilled the center hole and then enlarged it with a jigsaw. For the other plate, I used a 35mm forstner bit I had. The plexiglass held up well even after tons of cutting and drilling. The router table plate works perfectly and holds the router to the table securely even while running large router bits. I like that I can see through and see what is beneath the plate - very hand when cutting mortises

Perfect cover for our teak desk to protect from scratches. The only negative is the minor "waves" it had which is an imperfection but it didn't bother us enough to return it.

I use this in building display cases. I prefer it to glass because it is stronger and much lighter. On the downside it is also more expensive. I generally use the .093 thickness because it is easy to cut with a table saw but thick enough to add some rigidity to the structure. Each sheet has a plastic film to protect it from scratches, however, you must still examine each sheet closely for damage (the retail environment can be pretty rough in these stores).

Hot tub installation guy looked up at the many trees above and suggested I buy some "plywood and cinderblocks" to protect the custom hot tub cover from falling branches. What a horrible looking safety measure for a beautiful deck feature! I came up with the idea of laying two of these across the top instead and the solution is perfect and attractive as can be. I think I will buy some kitchen cabinet hardware so as to have something to grip when I move these off. They are not that heavy, just super awkward to wrestle with.

Used product to create several interior windows in a customer's home. Product was as described and cut clean using a jigsaw with blade for cutting metal. It is sensitive to scratching so must be handled with care, even with protective film on both sides.

I am giving this 2 stars, not because of the quality of the acrylic sheet, but because of Optix's bonehead move of putting a super-sticky label on the sheet. Presumably, you buy a clear acrylic sheet to be CLEAR! I scrubbed at the label for quite a while, and there is still residue. I need sun to be able to shine clearly through the sheet, and the large label residue will affect that. There is a protective covering on one side of the sheet - the label should go on that, no the sheet itself.

I used two of these on my balcony so that my dog won't leap out between the wide open bars. She can sit and watch out the "window" now safely and I also don't have the problem of pigeons perching on the bars. You can clean them easily with water and liquid soap and they last a long time, and I attached them to the railing with clear packing tape.

I was worried that the clear Acrylic sheet would not be as good as Plexiglass because, quite frankly, I did not know the difference between the two. This was an outstanding product and very clear and durable. See the pic provided, it is very difficult to see the piece of Acrylic but it is there. I would buy this product again for the purposes I used it for - as a screen / window for a nativity manger I built. I thoroughly research the internet and shoped local stores, and this was by far the best product and best price I found. I was surprised HD was able to beat the competition on this product.

It made a perfect platform for my wife to do her 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle on. She has enough room for it on the card table and when we have family over it is easy to move to a spare bedroom without spilling.

had no issue cutting and building with this
thickness is perfect for vent hood lids and other uses. scored with a utility knife, a pocket knife and made other cuts with a metal blade band saw and all cuts were satisfactory. easy to weld using the correct solvent. the only down side was that it wasnt quite rigid enough to support the width of the piece i needed but i resolved that by adding a support piece across the width of the box. drilled holes easily enough with both a cordless drill and a drill press. minimal splitting or cracking once i figures out how much pressure to (not) apply.

        Exactly What I Needed
This Acrylic Sheet was extremely easy to cut with a CO2 Laser for my current arcade project. It is also very durable for heavy use.

I can't believe it is so easy.
I bought this plexi-glass to replace the windows in my garage that were broken out from wayward tennis balls and basketballs. I cut this easily with a blade from a Dremel like tool. It was not as brittle as the lighter thinner pieces and seems to be very sturdy as replacement glass. It was clear and easy to clean and the protective film did its job.

        Amazing Transformation
Aquired 1970's China Hutch at garage sale for $50. Needed cleaning, knobs replaced $25, and update door inserts to the 21st century. Decided to not get glass due to having a very active 6yr old. Amazing transformation, I believe I have a new family heirloom for generations to come. Had to cut to fit, make sure to have an extremely sharp razor cutting tool and an extra pair of hands to help stabilize while you cut, and be patient, dont rush the cutting. Took messing up first one to learn the above and below. Had bought a big enough piece to have room for boo boos. Suggest you do the same.

The sheet was in perfect condition with protective film on both sides. It was easy to cut and drill. Be aware that you do need to use saw blades and drill bits made specifically for use on acrylic (plexiglass).

This acrylic was broken on 2 of the 4 corners, making it unusable for the intended purpose. Furthermore, Home depot didn’t send it to the correct store, instead sent it to a store 400 miles from home.
