This was a great nail gun. I wanted something quick and simple. This did not misfire or jam or have any issues throughout my hardwood install. I used this for 3/4 hardwoods. I will be using again and would definitely recommend. I used this with my California Air compressor seamlessly.

This was great. My only complaint (very slight) is that you have to order the cleats online. Make sure you buy enough!! Other than that, this tool was a rockstar. I definitely would recommend it.

Great alternative to renting a floor nailer. I needed a couple of extra days because of a distraction, a rental would have cost me more than the purchase of this unit. The nailer worked great, no problems other than forgetting to reload once. I used 1 1/2" L cleats on 3/4" strip oak and it went down tight and solid.

Would have given a five star rating if the manufacturer's customer service had the courtesy to respond to my email regarding the missing "Adjustment tool Kit". I installed approx. 200 sq. ft. of 3/4" thick oak hardwood flooring and the nailer functioned flawlessly using 2" long staples. Can not comment on the tool's performance using flooring nails

When I was a kid, our family business was hardwood flooring installation and finishing. Consequently, "back in the day" I had a great deal of experience with the original, non-pneumatic flooring nailers which required a fair amount of effort to sink cleats with one blow of the hammer. I haven't installed hardwood in decades but recently decided to replace about 650 square feet of carpet with 2 1/4" x 3/4" solid pre-finished ash. I had no desire to use an old style machine (assuming they're still available) so I researched many pneumatic versions. After comparing about 7 or 8 brands, I decided on the NuMax because of price and the many favorable reviews from other users. I'm very happy with my decision. I'm about 2/3 finished with my project-the NuMax has performed great and has exceeded my expectations. I'm running it off an old 1/2 HP air compressor @ about 80 PSI. I decided to use "L" cleats rather than staples based on research into what type fastener would be best for 3/4" solid flooring. So far, no squeaks!
It's important to strike the the "plunger" squarely, otherwise you run the risk of the cleat not sinking completely. The machine has jammed just once, and that was when the cleat struck a subfloor nail. It was easy to remove the plate and the bent cleat using the tools provided. I was considering selling the NuMax after I finish the downstairs, but have decided to keep it in case I decide to replace the engineered wood in our home. The one, very minor "complaint" I have is that the instructions should be a bit clearer on how to load the cleats. Otherwise the machine is is ergonomically balanced and well-conceived, it's easy to use, and does not mar the prefinished flooring. One last thing, I'm using 15# felt under the hardwood.
Highly recommended.

Solid Product for a DIYer
I purchased the Numax Model SFL618 for installing my Bruce 3/4" x 3 1/2" hardwood floor in my home. I used 2" L-Cleat nails on my job. This unit is very sturdy, easy to use right out of the box, and made the job easy to complete.
As a DIYer, I suggest a few things if you are new to doing flooring installations.
(1) Take a scrap piece of hardwood and find a place on your subflooring to try out this unit. This will get you comfortable with using the nailer, and also help you to determine the right pressure setting for your compressor. Too little pressure, the nail won't drive through, too much, and you can split the tongue of the wood piece.
(2) This nailer won't help with the perimeter of the room if the nailer butts up against a wall. You should have a brad nail-gun to go directly through the finished wood surface, then use wood filler to cover the nail head. Do practice nailing with this gun also; you may find you need more or less pressure from the compressor.

Good product for the money
Product came on time, was very simple to assemble, and worked very well. A great value vs renting a similar item. Will pay back in just a few days and then can be used for future jobs. Just remember to either buy an air hose or get it with the compressor. I used a 10 gallon compressor with this tool at 100PSI. That was overkill for a realistic installation pace. A 5 gallon would have been sufficient.

Excellent Nailer
This is an excellent nailer. Used it with 1.5" staples to install 600 square feet of strand woven bamboo flooring and it worked perfectly. Never had a jam and is excellent quality.
** Pro Tip ** put about 5 drops of oil in the air port each time you refill the staples or nails and it will stay well oiled and prevent jams.
** Pro Tip 2 ** I put some liquid whiteout on the teeth on both sides of the nailer (see picture) so I could easily see that it was lined up. Black nailer on dark wood makes it hard to see, but with a little white, I could easily see it.

Fantastic Tool
I am so glad I purchased this tool for my flooring project. I used 2" staples for my 3/4" oak tongue and groove laid atop a 1-1/2" sub floor. I had ZERO problems with the tool, no misfires at all just a few bent staples that likely were shot into an existing nail in the sub floor. I added a few drops of oil each time a reloaded the magazine. If I had rented a nail gun I would have had to work much faster in order to minimize costs. Instead I worked at my own pace over the course of 4 days and I still have the gun. In my mind, the gun was not nearly as loud as other reviews led me to believe.

This is a great product and value for the cost.
This product provides the versatility for 3 types of blind nailing applications. Instruction manual was helpful but some portions could be explained more clearly. Like other reviews, the importance of using pneumatic tool oil regularly will prevent misfire, jams of the plunger due to dryness. Once oiled there were no problems with the plunger. Experienced only one nail jam (using "t" cleats). Overall, this product was easy to use and performed well. I'd reccomend this product to others.

Don't be afraid of DYI hardwood flooring!
I'm so glad I decided to purchase rather than rent a floor nailer, it allowed me to work at my own pace and schedule. The nailer worked flawlessly the entire project, never misfired or jammed which I had heard could be an issue with floor nailers.Drove all the nails perfectly at pressures ranging from 100 down to 80 psi so the compressor did not need to cycle that often.

Very impressed!
I went out on a limb and bought this Numax floor stapler because it has such good reviews. I have zero regrets! This thing works like a champ. I just finished about 500sf of solid 3/4 red oak with no problems whatsoever. I had 800sf total and did the first 300sf with the floor stapler Home Depot rents for $32 for 24hrs. I could tell no difference, and I didn't have to worry about getting it back on time. I could also use the same 1 1/2" Bostitch staples I was using with the Home Depot rental (good thing cause I bought a case). With the wood I have left over I think I'll knock out the walk in closet. I own my own floor stapler! Smart purchase.

Good overall flooring nailer for the basic DIY'er
This 3-in-1 flooring nailer and stapler performs as advertised. I purchased it to complete a headboard project where I used expensive 3/4" hand-scraped maple flooring (also from Home Depot) on top of 3/4" plywood. First time using a flooring nailer and here's what I learned. This nailer make a loud pop when you strike it. I wondered if the neighbors would call the police thinking it was a handgun. When striking the nailer, hit it like you mean it. I had two nails not go all the way in because I didn't hit the striker hard enough. I used Porta-Nails1-1/2 in. x 16-Gauge Taped 1M Bright Steel T-Head Hardwood Flooring Nails and they worked great. I had zero nails go all the way through the 3/4" backer board (aka my "subfloor") and that was key to having a smooth back on my finished product. Finally, per the flooring directions, I nailed the tongue side of the boards. For those in the flooring business you can laugh if that's the way ALL flooring is assembled with a flooring nailer but I'm a basic DIY'er and I'm learning as I go. I've seen a few pros on TV using a nailer on the groove side and I don't know which is correct. Overall, this product worked great and my headboard looks fantastic (see photos). If you remove the bolts holding the handle to the nailer it will fit in a VERY large tool bag along with the rest of your flooring tools and nails.

Worked Great!
I bought this to intall 750 sq.ft. of oak 3/4" T&G flooring. I've never install a floor like this or used a floor nailer. It worked great! It does take a little getting used to. Don't hit it too lightly or it won't completely drive the nails. If you do get a nail not driven completely drive it in with a flat punch or if it won't go clamp onto it with Vise-Grips and wiggle it until it snaps off. The nails will not pull out without damaging the boards. When you get near the walls it may be difficult to hit it sharply enough to get it to fire correctly though. In addition get a 2 1/2" finish nailer and 2" finish nails. You will need it around the edges and where you can't fit this nailer! It sounds like a gun firing so you may want hearing protection.

Easy for a First-Timer
My husband used this gun to install ~200sqft of solid bamboo floor (5/8in thick) in our daughter's bedroom. I thought it would be a whole weekend project, but he was done in 8 hrs and the floors look amazing! Even my pregnant self tried it! The gun came prepared with the correct base plate so we just plugged it in the air compressor at 95psi, loaded the 2" L-nails (also bought here) and started nailing the planks down. We're planning on remodeling the guest bdrm, so for $119 it was definitely a good buy. Plus, there's someone willing to buy it from us when we're done. No money wasted!

Works just as described and a value for the cost.
I bought 1400 sq ft of bamboo flooring. I am a homeowner and short of money so I thought I could do the install myself. This nailer made the work easier than I expected. Worked flawlessly for me. Only had a few nails out of a few thousand that did not go in all the way and it was usually a problem with my subfloor not the nailer. I would recommend this for any occasional user. Good nailer for the money.
