Works well we had almost 6" of rain after seeding lawn with almost no movement of soil or seed

The straw mats were easy to handle and met their intended purpose of reducing erosion with the newly planted areas. Would definitely purchase again for a large newly planted area.

Unless you want tall (48”) grass to grow. No way is this straw since straw has no seeds. This is hay! We spent a lot of money and time on a large bare spot in our side yard weeding, tilling, laying new soul, and then seeding with low grow meadow flowers. Now we have to redo the entire thing. We now have to spend hundreds of additional dollars and more weekends redoing the entire area. I would give it 0 stars if I could

As the other reviews stated, it was a little difficult to unroll by myself and the straw was thin in some places. But I’m very happy with its performance! It stayed where I put it and we’ve had heavy rain and it hasn’t disturbed it or the dirt underneath. It was easy to cut to fit the area to cover

Used this straw blanket over new seed in a 20’x 28’ area. Kept the birds away and the ground moist. Grass appeared in a week. Three weeks later grass is full. Cuts best with a knife, easy to use.

It seems to be doing it's job. A little hard to get started but went down easily once you started it.

Erosion control blankets (aka "seed blankets") are great for retaining moisture and avoiding runoff of newly planted grass seeds. But the straw on this product was VERY thin -I tried to attach a picture, but this review tool wouldn't take it. In some places, there was basically no straw - just the string-webbing. Too bad.

Did what I needed it to do. Easy install and nice results. Good recommendation from the Columbia mo Home Depot.

Purchased this and another high end Curlex. This material worked better then the high end Curlex and I was able to use my lawnmower over this without the mess getting caught in mower blade. Just make sure you staple properly.

Somewhat difficult to unroll at the beginning and end of the roll. Otherwise works well.

90% of the straw fell off before I was able to roll it out. Complete waste of money.

It’s good product

I'm pretty disappointed with this product. I have used a couple of other brands in the past and thought this might be worth trying since it was less expensive. I was wrong. There were huge sections where no straw material was present, leaving bare spots. I had to double layer the blanket just to make it usable. Also, even when unrolling the blanket very carefully, about 30 percent of the straw material would fall out. I would definitely never buy this again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

This blanket was not as good as I hoped it would be, the straw did not stay in place very well. Also hard to unroll.

Bought this for grass seed germination. It was horrible. The straw distribution in the blanket was extremely thin and didn't provide adequate cover. It also flew everywhere and covered my yard to the point I had to clean it up. I was hoping this was going to be an effective, especially cost effective solution, compared to the much more expensive grass blankets out there but now I'm going to have to resort to the other stuff (Quick Grass Pro).

First time using product , it rolled out easy after got started.

The quality of the blanket is very poor, very badly woven hay which came off or all bundled into one area. It took quite a task to unroll the blanket and then spread the hay evenly.

Netting tore a lot. Was not easy to roll out.

Attempting to reseed our back yard that experiences daily dog traffic. We are having a cool, wet spring so seed germination is late. The mats have (for the most part) to the dogs. After installing the mats, stray was applied over the mats.I installed the mats alone and can say that a helper is preferred. Unrolling was difficult because of the way that the mat sticks to itself. Mats are stapled down on a 4' grid pattern.Process: rake, roll, apply seed, roll, install mats w/spikes, spread additional straw.
