Step bit broke on first hole

I’m reading through all these comments and just amazed at how negative they are. I work in the commercial kitchen industry and these by far are one of the best products I have ever used. And too all the negative reviewers, in my experience in any use of step bits in metal is low speed and allow the bit to Do it’s job. High speed heats the metal in turn hardening it. This is why you burn out bits after only a few holes. These bits can last you a very long time is used with proper care. Thank you Milwaukee for another excellent professional grade product.

First time i bought this product and I love it,perfect for what I need

The smaller step drill broke on the first hole, it was a steel door, a lot of money for it to break on first hole

This worked very well. I cut numerous holes into a metal circle for a fire pit

Tips of each step bits broke within two weeks of having them. Still haven't returned them because I don't want more of the same. Guess I should have figured they wouldn't last considering how cheap they were. Too good to be true

I was expecting it to last longer than one drilled metal hole. After it performed well with the first hole, it failed over and over again on the second. Had to push through until I was satisfied. Will not buy this again especially for the cost of it. Unless Milwaukee wants to send me out a replacement larger step drill bit
