I bought my Router a couple years ago to trim some laminate and it did great. I put the tool away and didn't need it till just recently, about two years later. I pulled it out to route the edges on a board and it did great for about five minutes. Suddenly you could watch the speed control wheel go up and down changing the speed constantly making it useless. Would not recommend since the router had very little use and broke so quickly.

The router has a good feel and quality. I do wish it had a square base and a little better of a fence guide.

Easy to use. First timer was able to route two grooves to inlet tracks into a workbench top. Comes with a guide that makes work near the edge much easier. Not sure about durability, but Makita is a great brand

Small, handy, lightweight, not too loud. perfect for most jobs I will need it for without having to pull out my bigger routers.

Best yet. I have two. One for my router table & one I use for cutting juice groves in the boards I make

Excellent tool. A must have for anyone that wants to work with carpentry. To cut the holes in the doors to install the hinges for example it makes a neat job. If you don't know how to make the piece that you want, practice a little with a piece of scrap wood before using in the real deal. I highly recommend it! And buying from Home Depot feels good. Great customer service. Home Depot and Makita tools are a no brainer good move. You can't go wrong when those two are together.

Very nice router. Can’t wait to mount it in the router table I am building. It has variable speed and soft start so it doesn’t torque in your hand when you first turn it on. The body is machined very nicely. Perhaps in the future I will put it in a wood CNC carriage and expand its versatility.
