I purcased 4 in the pasr 3 years and they are working great. This last purchase I'm experiencing some overheating problems. I have omly used for 30 minutes and it gets so hot i can't hold it unless i wear a leather glove. I never experience that problem with the other 4 . Also the price 30.00 more than 1 month ago. I will not purchase any more at that price. I can get them under 100.00 on line.

This router has been performing flawlessly. If needed I would buy it again.

I bought one of these last fall to trim some laminate but just finally had a chance to try it out last weekend. I love this little router. I have a router table with a larger router but wanted something smaller for freehand/template work. So far I've used it to create some 1/2" dados, 3/4" rabbits and to do some flush trimming (laminate and plywood). More than enough power for those tasks. The Good: - Bit change is quick and easy with the included wrench - Fine adjustment works well - Variable speed is very useful - Small form factor makes it easy to handle (I've always been nervous using my large router outside a table) The 'Not as Good': - Motor did get a little hot while cutting 30 dados but not so hot that it was uncomfortable to hold I didn't try the edge guide as I tend to use a clamped straight edge.

the machine is very good but it has a problem and that is that it does not have light and it is very necessary so I cannot use it

Intent is to use it on a Shark SD-110 CNC machine but waiting on mounting bracket. Did give it a test drive doing some quick routing on another wood project. Seems to be a pretty good router so far but true test will be what I intend to use it for. Tried a Bosch and had some issues with it. So far this one seems to be doing better.

Great little router. Very comfortable to handle with one hand. The soft start is great! My only “complaint” is the base free falls when you loosen up the adjustment knob. I think with some adjustments I can get it to not drop so freely, allowing for more accurate depth setting.

I read several compact router reviews and the Makita consistently scored well. As with my other Makita tools I am very satisfied. The Home Depot order process also worked well, as usual.

Great little router, especially for the price. Just make sure the depth adjuster is tightened before you use it our your depth will get off in a hurry I found out the hard way. A few turns to tighten it up and perfect since.

Slight vibration and control issues but works fine.

This is the first router I have purchased, and I have to say it is a very powerful unit. I was using it to mill out some aluminum, and it just could not be stopped. I have some plans for doing some woodwork, probably a job this router was intended for. For the price I do not think this can be beat.

very lite easy to use does everything my full-size router does.

bought mine 6 month ago, used it twice and just caught on fire using a 1/4 flush trimming bit. the depth collar moves as well. overall if you want a router that is junk and will ruin your project this is the one, if you want one that does its job well buy anything else.

Decent little router for a weekend warrior definitely not for every day use, after about 10 minutes of continuous use the tool gets extremely hot and will burn your hands

Using the router in my CNC machine. Works great, quiet and smooth start doesn't jerk the tool. Very versatile.
