The old cartridge in my sink was stuck and not...
The old cartridge in my sink was stuck and not even this tool was able to remove it. Although, once I was able to break it off this tool was effective in installing the new one with ease. No more water drip from my Moen faucet.

Being an old person, I had trouble gripping the tool.
My valves were in so tight that I had to drill a hole through the top of the tool so I could insert a screw driver giving my more torque to loosen the valves.

This WORKED
It is always nice to have the right tool for the job.
I was able to extract the retainer without this tool but could tighten the retainer sufficiently to stop the valve from turning when "turning off" the water. The handle would move beyond the "typical" off position (the valve was slipping inside) even though I could stop the water flow. With the "proper" tool, I was able to easily snug the valve down tight to prevent the slippage. I could have used holes at the top to help with leverage.

Met my expectations, was not very expensive and I got it quickly from The Home Depot. Any company (Moen) who designs their products to require a special tool to work on should furnish the special tool with each unit. My opinion.

Its just a metal tube with 2 notches. IMHO, it is overpriced. It works but hard to grip and twist.

The tool worked great. But I am only rating it...
The tool worked great. But I am only rating it a 2 because It should be on the shelf at the store that I purchased the tool from. I thought I would have my faucet fixed in about 20 minutes but ended up waiting for days in the tool from Home Depot website. Bad business practice!

Cartridge retainer removal tool worked as advertised. Good quality metal and easy to use. Would be better if two holes were predrilled into the top of the tube to allow insertion of a metal rod or nail to use a turn handle.

Bought this so I could replace a couple of moen cartridges in my bathtub. It's unfortunate that you have to get a special tool for anything moen. Helps remove the retainer rings that keep the cartridges in place. Simple tubular metal.
