Bought and installed yesterday evening. Completely caved in the end of the fixture trying to knock out the knockout. Much, much lower quality than the Lithonia T12 fixture from the 1970s that I was replacing. But after a lot of fiddling and un-bending I did get it installed and working. I used a plastic snap-in cable clamp on an end knockout, and it fit with zero clearance. I can see why a metal one wouldn't fit at all. Also would have been nice if it had come with a couple mounting screws, but it didn't. Now I just hope it keeps working more than 25 days.

Don't buy this product unless you don't value your time. What should have been a 30 minute job turned into a 3 hour mess. First the metal used in the product is really poor quality, a step above pot metal. When I gently tapped the knockout on the end the whole end of the fixture caved in. I had to break out my dremmel and cut out the knock out. There is no room allowed by Lithonia to connect the nut on to the cable feed wire coming into the end of unit. You have to completely disassemble the connector from the end cap in order to make the connection. When you do this everything bends and gets out of shape. In the end, the metal used on the end cap is so pliable that its almost impossible to get a good solid connection when you reassemble. The cost would have been higher, but I should have replaced the transformer in my good old American made fixture. I rate this product ZERO STARS.

We've renovated two houses over the past several years. Wherever we needed basic fluorescent utility lighting (garages, basements) we've ended up trying Lithonia, because that's what they sell at Home Depot. Having bought about a dozen Lithonia fixtures over the years, I'd say about 50% come out of the box missing parts - screws, wire nuts, other things - and about 80% are just really badly made - knockouts don't actually knock out, wires just break off, or the fixture just comes apart in my hands. Literally. Cheap can be useful or useless. Lithonia is more often than not useless. Save yourself time and frustration - don't use these.

This is an economy based T5 fixture. As previous reviews mentioned the knockouts are suspect on this unit. I wired mine for an appliance plug as my unfinished garage has switched outlets on the ceiling. I was wondering where the wire nuts and instructions were, and they were under the ballast cover. After unwrapping the cardboard from the bulbs and removing the bulbs you have to gently squeeze the body of the fixture to get the lock tabs to disengage the ballast cover. I did them one at a time and didn't damage anything, no screw drivers to scratch the finish. I was surprised at how bright this 42 watt fixture was. The light on mine was on the warmer side, almost a little pink. Very different from the daylight spectrum bulbs I use elsewhere in my garage. Over all for the price I was very pleased, especially considering the bulbs were included.

Need to return, started turning off after about an hour of operation.Had to wait for it to cool down before it would work again.

This light was great. It lit up the whole room and it makes it easier for me to see in the dark.

I have 10 of these used as hidden bathroom lights. They work good, but the bulbs cost as much as the hole fixture and do not last as long as the older larger bulbs we replaced.

As mentioned by others the knock-outs are poorly stamped and very difficult to remove. You WILL have to bend the tombstone back into shape to use it. You will then discover there isn't room for the lock nut if you use a metal NM connector. Only after significant bending, prying, adjusting and cursing did I manage to get the fixture to fit back together. I would have tried a plastic NM connector if I had one at the time. After all that I was able to use it for 2 weeks and then It started to trip the GFCI receptacle it was plugged into.

Got this to go over my kitchen sink as a temporary fixture. Had it installed in about 10 minutes. One of the bulbs sounded broken on the inside, but worked after installiing. This is a very bright light, over powers the three 60-watt halogen fixture in the middle of the kitchen.

Easy to install. Just plug it in. Gives off good light

Bought cheap fixture and got cheap performance. Will not buy this brand again. Called while under warranty and was passed to another. Not worth the run-around.

I bought the fixture to light a basement stairway. It works perfectly. The intallation was a snap. The light gives off a lot of light for its size. I did get an optional light diffuser to cover the bulb. I purchased the fixture in the store, so no shipping.

Provides good light for my closet which doesn't have electric available.

Performed as represented on the container. Had to supply power cord which was dissappointing. Installation was simple.

Installed a dozen of these in my basement & garage, very happy overall. Lots of light from a small package, good color temp, no flickers. Relatively easy to install if you know your way around a screw gun and wire strippers. Now the complaints: instructions are packed inside the unit, and I damaged my first one a little figuring out how to open it. It's obvious once you've done it once, but a little more guidance might be good. The fittings are a little loose and easy to bend, which can leave you with bulbs that don't quite contact - easy to fix, but annoying. The knockouts on the ends are nearly impossible to remove without bending the tombstones, so if you want to mount these right up against a joist or stud, you'll have to deal with bending them back into shape after removing the knockout.

Units replaced 7-8 year old chinese junk that never would fire the first time. These may still be Chinese but if they were ,they were much better quality. The t8's are much more satisfiying hat the T12's

VERY BAD QALITY, STOP WORKING AFTER 25 DAYS., BULBS NOT FULL BRITE, VERY HARD TO INSTALLED BULBS.

This products quality is very good, Cost is good, easy to install, and has great energy efficiency.

I needed to replace an old unit. The Mini Strip was easy to install and works fine.

Bought two of these to replace the basic light fixtures in my garage. Couldn't be happier. The narrow width however, will require the use of outlet box covers on the ceiling before installing,

Mounted this product along with a diffuser and a simple light switch to my bed loft. I now have a great reading light for late night studying! The best part: the ballast is hum-free!! Very satisfied with this product given its low cost!

We are slowly updating the closets in our 1960's home with light switches and lights. This is plenty bright for our small closets 7' by 4' by 4' but might not be enough for our bedroom which is twice the width, will probably use a 4' light for that. I will be purchasing a couple more in the near future.
