The reason for four stars is that I wished they had included more parts. It did not include a Twin-Screw Cable Clamp Connector (or even screws to attach to the wall, for that matter). Those are so cheap that I thought that was really uncalled for. It would have been nice, especially since the fixture I replaced had too small of a clamp to fit in this one...

Cheap grow lights!
We have attached these lights to a shelf unit. They are working beautifully as grow lights without the incredible cost of the specialty grow light. ( about $18 compared to $50) These do need to be wired by hand if you want use them anywhere other than with an overhead light box.

Don't Last
I Installed about 6 of these 3 years ago. First off the included bulbs are junk and will go out after about 1 year. I was willing to overlook this because of the low price of the light. About two weeks ago we had one fail. I went to Home Depot and bought another one, brought it home and installed it, flipped on the switch, and it worked for about 15 seconds before failing. Now I have to go back to Home Depot to return this one and pick up another one and hope that it works out of the box.

Great for replacing old lighting
Yes, for the price this is an excellent product. Small and compact but gives off plenty of light for my needs.

good light, but can't be installed with a strain relief in the end for surface mount
Doing a surface mount: The bulb sockets are so close to the end of the housing that the retaining nut for a cord strain relief can't fit, and the strain relief itself will interfere with the wiring when it goes in. So a conventional strain relief can't be installed. Is there a plastic snap-in that's legal?
Unless you can find some other legal way of securing the cord through the end of the housing, you can't legally install the wiring.

Fixture quality is ok, included China bulbs are 2nd rate
I replaced an older T12 fixture over a vanity that used a single bulb. This is a typical Levitown quality fixture which is fine but not great. I purchased this unit because it contained the two needed T5 bulbs and uses a newer type solid state starter. The two included bulbs can cost almost as much as the fixture so it seamed like a good deal. However, this fixture is installed just five feet away from a similar fixture with a single GE daylight bulb. Even though it's obviously brighter, the color temperature is so low it appears to be yellow compared to the GE bulb. I would not purchase this fixture again if it comes with bulbs from China; its better to buy the bulbs separately so you can use GE or Phillips.

A great closet light
Purchased this fluorescent utility light for its small size for installation in a closet. Once power supply was secured in the closet, with switch, light installation was simple. Just secured it above the door on the header and hooked into the switch

Lithonia Single Lamp Fluorescent
The only negative regarding this lamp is the difficulty in removing knock out plugs provided to install permanent wiring and/or cords for pugging in unit. Without a vise, pliers, vise grips and patience, removing plugs would have been impossible.

Brighten your life
Worked out nice for a light above a kitchen sink. We prefer cool white color and the bulbs that comes with the light fixture are cool white.

what I expected
I have had a dark basement for the 20 years I have lived in this house which is 80 + years old. I have had a shaky relationship with electricity most of my life. With some simple instructions and encouragement from a certified electrician friend, I was able to replace 3 60W incadescent light fixtures with 6 of these mini florescent fixtures in pairs of two. All I can say is WOW! I can see everything now.

JUNK
This was the worst light fixture Ive ever installed!!! First the knock outs would not
break lose then to compound the problem you can't use a standard cable clamp.
there just isn't enough room for a standard clamp

Mini Fluorescent Utility Light
The fixture is cheaply made and installing the bulbs causes the connections to become intermittent. Had to push the connectors back onto the base of bulbs after installation. Puts out more light than I expected, could have gotten away with a single bulb unit.

Dropped ceiling lighting
Easy to install, looks good, and is very bright. A little on the expensive side. Installed two behind a 3X3 piece of cracked glass (plastic diffusor) in a dropped ceiling and the effect looks great. Just wish it was a little less expensive.

This replaced a fixture that was not working. If I had know how good this new fixture was, I would have replaced the older one sooner. Really good product for what I use it for.

Very compact fluorscent light
This light unit is very light weight and compact. Comes with two T-9 (I think) small diameter 2 foot long fluorescent tubes. Light wight, easy to install. A very good choice in a small long linear space. I replace an old style fluorescent tube fixture (larger diameter tube) above the bathroom sink light cove with these lights. Works very well.
The only Con I have with the unit is the tube socket. The parts receiving the fluorescent tubes seems to be plastic and not really square on the light fixture. I had to use my hand to straighten them out a little bit.

works as expected
Some additional cost is added because a cord/plug is not included. For an additional $10 I grabbed the 1/2 romex clamp and an 8' extension cord. The wire nuts and leads are inside the fixture so it was quick to put together. Within a few minutes I had it hanging above my plants. I run it on a timer outlet for 16hrs of light each day.

GREAT compact light!
Be advised, there is no cord supplied, you have to wire it up when you get it home! VERY easy if you know basic wiring. We just cut a cord off a non-working item and got it done. Liked it so much, we went back and purchased a second!

Flimsy case makes wiring difficult
The light is fine, but the sheet metal on the case is so thin that it is impossible to punch out the electrical holes and not have the case bend. Worse is that the holes at the end of the unit are too close to the bulb brackets that the bracket won't stay in anymore. I took the fixture down and returned it, but mainly because the bulbs are the wrong color and do not match the rest of my workspace and there is no option on the bulb type.

Pretty darn good
Bought this to replace 14 yr old T12 fixture. I am a part time DYIr and this was easy to install. The smaller T5 bulbs put out more light than the single T12 I had. Glad I bought it
