I really do like my koolatron 29qt. It is just the right size for my little family, husband and two dogs.
We do not have to worry about stopping to get ice for cooler when we go on trips in the truck. It keeps very cold the drinks and food with enough space too. Works good even if it is hot outside.

Love it
Im a truck driver use it 5 days a week running non stop.cools well enough to keep my food cooled.i had mine a year or two it finally gave up before me lol.

A very nice unit which I would buy again. It may be a bit overpriced but still good value. The split opening is handy and two compartment dividers are included, but I wish one was large enough to subdivide the full depth instead of just half. Quality control was somewhat lacking. The cover gasket had been pinched and distorted over one half inch by trapping the cover retainer strap. Also, the power plug from the unit was not placed into its exit groove properly - easily corrected.

I recommend with reservations. Overall it will keep your food cold while it is running. However, if it sits in the car while it is not running, it quickly loses the coolness. It is not insulated like a normal cooler. There are sharp edges on the fastener and doors which you have to watch out for. We have used it on one car trip so far. We also got the adapter so we could plug it in at night in the hotel room. It makes a fairly loud hum.

Thank you for purchasing Koolatron P65. We appreciate your opinion and feedback. P65 is an electronic chiller providing cooling with solid state thermoelectric module which can give a temperature drop of 35 to 40 F below the surrounding temperature. Like a domestic refrigerator if unplugged, the inside temperature will rise back to ambient. As far as the noise is concerned, Koolatron is working on an improved system to reduce it below 40 Dba. Once successful we can contact you and assist in reducing the noise in your cooler.

Great product
We have had this model Kargo P65 Koolatron for 20 plus years and it only recently (July 2018) quit working. We travel a lot on business and take us with us in the car plus sometimes use it for shopping. It is great being able to plug it into a wall receptacle at the hotel. Keeps the cool cool and the hot hot. Fan makes a bit of a noise but not that we can't sleep. YOU MUST KEEP THE FAN EXHAUST CLEAR AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE PLUGGED TO COOL OR HEAT WHICHEVER YOU ARE USING IT FOR. ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK. I have written Koolatron to see if you can purchase parts to repair it and if not,I'll be purchasing a replacement and it will be a Koolatron. Another plus is it's Canadian. Highly recommend.

I bought it as a solution to my Solar Powered RV, it doesn't work very well unless the outside temp is in the 80s or lower, it also uses a bit more power than I was expecting from reading the stats. But it could be great in the right situation.

Bought the Koolatron for our 2 day drive to Florida but plugged it in wrong. Didn't realize that this unit is a heater as well. We should have checked the temp earlier (Heat setting should only be on for 45mins) but had to throw out most of the food. Our bad! Once we figured it out though, it was great.
Would have liked to have had the 220v adapter included to plug it into the wall so we could have used it in the hotel.
The dual lids/doors are nice although there was a sharp piece of plastic on the sliding lock that kept catching my finger. Once I filed it down it was ok.
