Coating coming off
The black coating on my flange has also chipped off after just a few months use. From the looks of other reviews and the response from the company it seems the fall back company answer is that somehow I have subjected my flange to abuse or harsh chemicals. That is simply not the case here. I simply could not recommend this product in good conscience as the finish is not robust enough to withstand daily use.

We have a electric hot water tank and it take a while to get a steady flow of hot water in the kitchen but this instant hot water tap will save us money and help us by stopping the wastefulness of unused water going down the drain.
The installation was easier than I thought.

Poor quality, company makes excuses:
I am on my third one in less than a year. The black peels off pretty quickly, and no sinkerator I have not used and abrasive chemicals and had any nicks on it. It still peels off, uniformly starting around the edges.. I can’t find another black one available so until I do I will keep re-buying this one thanks to Home Depot’s great return policy.

Don’t buy black flange chipped after 3 months. Now we have to replace- disappointing!

The matte black finish has powder coating on the stainless-steel flange. Exposure to chemical or abrasive cleaners can affect the surface as well as any sharp item that might scratch, nick, or gouge the finish. We recommend the use of a damp cloth for cleaning purposes.
