Replace it every 7 to 8 years before it breaks; don't have to remove flange (sink) - same model. Takes 10 minutes max.

The previous one, same model, last for years. Replacement was extremely easy and took just 20 minutes.

Easy to install with no issues, the old Badger lasted 20 years

Purchased Badger 5 Model 5-84 3.5 years ago for my kitchen remodel. It has now cracked down the side, corroded from inside out, and leaking water in my new cabinets. Picture attached. Must be replaced.

Great product, easy to install by myself.

The plastic housing of the previous 12 year old (light / occasional use) unit had cracked. It seems to be a common failure. Hopefully the new unit has been improved in design / material selection. The replacement process was very simple. Just make sure to follow the instructions and remove the dishwasher 'plug' in the unit (if you have a dishwasher). Also, no need to replace the bracket attached the the bottom of the sink if you already had an Insinkerator unit. They are still the same as before. My unit came with a new bracket (which I didn't need to use). Note, some units are sold without the power cord. I had ordered the version including the cord simply plugging in under the sink. One step less in the installation.

Quiet, compact and powerful Does everything we need it to. Bought it for my new house which didn't come with one, installation was straightforward after we checked for leaks.

I installed the same model over 25 years ago, and it has perform flawlessly since. For a five year warranty, it lasted 20 years longer. Absolutely amazing, so there was no question when it finally failed, I would replace it with the same model. It was literally the easiest installation I have ever had. I removed the old unit, attached the power wires and pipes, and twisted the new one in place. I was done in less than 15 minutes. Fantastic design. So easy.

Best price I could find and easy to install. Works great and arrived before expected date.

I hesitantly purchased this to replace the Badger 5 which died within 5 months, so I was skeptical about getting another Badger. On the plus side, the switch out was extremely easy as all I have to do was disconnect the old and connect the new. Took about 15 minutes. This one better last longer though!

Easily installed. The plumber was in my home for a total of 10 minutes and installation was complete. I have had it for about 2 weeks now and it's working great. One thing that stands out about this product is it''s low noise when in use. You don't hear the metal clicking sound when it is running as seen in previous brands I have used. And it is pretty cheap, way cheaper than I anticipated.

Works like that last one I replaced it with. It lasted 17 years. Although not a high priced product it did the job for more that the expected lifespan.

This is the updated version of my old disposal so installation was pretty simple as all the plumbing matched up. I did have a little trouble knocking the plug out of the dishwasher hook up, but eventually got it out and finished soon after that.

So easy to install. ( women too) Watched youtube video. Increased the hp from my old Whirlpool 1/3 hp. All the old plumbing lined up perfectly.

Worked well for 3 years and then started leaking where the top and bottom are screwed together. Should have lasted 5-10 years minimum. Warranty is only 1 year.

I bought the same model to replace my old one. It was easy to change out because everything for the pipes were the same.

Purchased this one to replace another installed 13 years ago. Seals went bad in the other but 13 years is good service. Easy to install. Has all you need except the wiring. I did not use the older cord -purchased a new one. If I can get half the service as the first, it's a good deal.

Easy to install to prior existing Badger. Upgraded from 1/3 to 3/4 HP.. Not loud or quiet operation- gets the job done. Too early to know how long it will last. Previous Badger lasted about 6-7 years- hope this one lasts longer! Would buy another Badger in the future.

I had the same one installed and it broke on me after 6 month of owning the house. the new one is more quiet and the installation was super simple. The only problem I had was that I was expecting a power cable without plug and this one had a plug so I have to cut and wire it. Is the first time I replace one and I'm happy with the results.

I replaced my original Insinkerator (1994) with this model back in 2006 primarily because the connections were the same and given origin unit lasted 12 years, I didn't expect anything less. As that unit made it 12 years, it's nice this unit still exists and it was a no brainer to get same exact unit. Since sink flange still in good shape, the replace/install took about 15 minutes only involving releasing lock ring, power connection, and pvc drain connection. Although this is a durable and well built unit, it is light enough to maneuver into place and install by yourself. Looking forward to another 12 years.

Great product. It works perfectly. Installation was easy. I even installed it myself and I’m the opposite of handy. Highly recommended for anyone in need of a new garbage disposal!

Very easy to install, I prepped every thing first. Made room to work under sink. Lined up and turn until tight. Checked for water leaks. It operated great. Not bad for a 71 year girl.

It came ready to install. Since it replaced a same brand and model number, it was done in no time.

Basic food disposal for residential use. I opted for 1/2 hp instead of the 3/4 hp I had previously based upon usage, price and plug in options.

I replaced my old disposal (the InSinkErator Badger 1, 1/3 HP) with this model (InSinkErator Badger 5, 1/2 HP), and it was a breeze! My old model worked really well, and we've had it for 7 1/2 years. This model popped right into the old one's place with very minimal effort, and works beautifully!

It does not match my old Badger 5. I have to buy a flexible discharge elbow to join this new Badger 5 with existing plumbing. It took me a while to figure it out because I'm not a plumber.

Very simple and quick install.
