Whoever designed this must not have ever tried using it on a 4x4 post. The location of the strap hooks causes the leveler to pull in too tight so it won't stay square on a 4x4 post. If you could lock it in at 90 degrees it might work. I ended up using a small clamp to hold it. In the end I returned it. I'm going to look for one thats fixed at 90 degrees.

I used it to set 4X4 wooden post in the ground and I found that the Post Level was off on every post. Had to re-level with traditional level. It seems the strap does not hold the level securely to the post causing it to sit at an angle not square to the post. It might work better on a round metal post.

On a wood post the elastic band would not hold the level flush to the post. Still, it worked great leveling 90 fence posts.

No problems so far.

The magnet is not strong is enough, need a heavy duty magnet for my expectations. The strap is not long enough to wrap around a beam or post.

THIS TOOL DID NOT WORK AT ALL WAY OFF LEVEL

I used this to level the post for my swimming pool. This made it so easy to do. I'll be using it next to level the post for the deck. I love this level !!!

I used it to put in a mailbox post and now I have a straight and plumb mailbox

Handy tool to keep around especially if you have a fence! The only issues were that the bubble tubes crack easily and the elastic strap lost it's elasticity very quickly, but was easily remedied with a rubber band.

Good Prouducts just need better band stretches out to easy

Works great but the magnet could be stronger I was using it on 2 5/8" pipe fence

With the provided band, the product won't sit flush against the 2 sides of a 4x4. The product may work well on other materials, but not on lumber.

Did everything I expected it to do was easy to use

This level worked perfect for my diy fence when I was setting the post.

I really like this level, I am impressed that it came with an elastic band to secure it to post in comparrison to others I have gotten from home depot that use a large rubber band that breaks after a few uses. I like the fact it folds together making it easier to store. The bubbles are easy to read and it can easily be used on larger post due to its multiple position.

This post level made in China by Husky 7 3/8" Multiposition Magnetic Post Level is OK. It is very useful in setting vertical or horizontal components. However there appear to be some short comings as follows: The magnets appear to be weak and may not be strong enough to penetrate the galvanized post surface. the strap appears also to be weak and may not be strong enough to support the tool against the post in question. This may be an easy fix by going to your local sewing store and purchasing stronger elastic. However, have no cure for the magnetics though and because of this cannot recommend it. Hoever it does carry a lifetime guarantee.

This is just a good idea - especially if you are setting vertical posts for any type of project. Whether for a deck fence, or a yard fence, your posts need to be fertile and level on three axis. This tool helps you to accomplish this. It is light and small enough to fit in a pouch, but large enough to read. The final accuracy of you post installation of course depends in your concrete, but this helps.

I used it to check plumb on a 4x4 mailbox post I was setting in quick-set concrete. It was easy to secure to the post and easy to verify level in both planes.

The Husky Multi-Position Magnetic Post Level uses an elastic strap to hold snuggly to a pole or post for leveling. The two horizontal levelling and the one vertical plumbing vials are large and easy to read. Because of the folding feature for storage, you might have to use it a few times to get the hang of mounting tightly, but once mounted correctly, works well. It has a lifetime warranty, where if it ever fails you can return for a free replacement. The strap can also be replaced for free by contacting customer service. Nice, handy tool.

This level comes ready to use with no assembly and is very versatile. After 10 years , my back yard fence gates were really sagging from the posts shifting during our recent drought, so I pulled the old wooden posts and replaced them with 3 inch steel posts. After laying my materials out and digging the first holes I filled my holes with mortar and stabbed my posts to the proper depth and using the magnetic post level I was able to set the post straight, without dropping my level in the mortar and stepping on it, and move to the next post. I also found that by strapping it to the top of my heavy wooden gates, in the barn, I could tighten my cable supports to level those as well.

If you doing any post work this is the way to go, I never had one and used a regular level to a line my post, now you just set this tool on your post and your hands are free from holding the level while you move your post to get them straight, makes setting post a whole easier. Of course you getting 2 readings from the same tool from both sides,which you were not getting holding a regular level.

tried using this product on a vinyl 5x5 post , tool would not set square on post with band . ended up putting this tool back on the truck and used a bullet level instead.

On a wood post, the hinge allows the level to open up, so that it does not sit square to the post. If the hinge would lock at a 90 degree angle, it would be more likely to work. I am now just using my 4' level. On a rectangular metal post, it may be more effective.

The level would not stay straight on the post. The strap would not hold it firm against the sides. Maybe it would work on a smaller post.

Level worked as-expected. However, the web strapping furnished to hold the device to a post is flimsy and sub-standard. Would not hold the level properly on a 6x6 post.
