We really like our new QUIET fan . We used it to replace another similar Hunter fan that had lasted 18 years. I was really glad that Antique Brass was available after 18 years, so it looks like the original fan, and matches other fixtures in our house. We had an electrician remove the old one and install this one because we have a very high cathedral ceiling, and he was able to take the old one out and put in the replacement in about 30 minutes. He had no complaints of anything missing or difficult to understand, which is as we hoped and expected. Our only issue is that we cannot reverse the fan direction with the remote like we could the old one, so will need to get the ladder out whenever we want to switch the direction. I couldn't find any replacement that provided this feature, so this is next best, but we are overall happy.

Great product, looks good, easy to install by yourself, the remote function is a big plus!

I put 1 fan in my great room and it was too small. I have vaulted cielings and once it was installed I did not want to pay to have it taken down.

even at the highest setting, the bulbs do not give much light. very unhappy and now stuck.

Fans look great and they are quiet. My grandson put the fans together and my son-in-law installed them in the upstairs bedrooms, We opted not to install the remotes. I really like the fans.

This is a beautiful fan. It arrived on time, it is "whisper quiet". Priced far less than competitor's price for the same model. I had an electrician install the fan as i had it installed in the middle of the room. My room light was near the entry and closet, so there wasn't enough room to install the fan in that location.

The complaints about low light levels&fan speeds are from those who can't handle a remote control properly. However stuffing a remote control reciever&wiring into the alotted space is difficult. Hunter can design a smaller reciever and should! Also increased size of screws to aid handling and installation!

Electrician seemed to find it easy to install this product. Fan blows like a champ and looks great.

Replaced a 28-year old Casablanca fan with the Sontera. We liked the looks and the fact that it had a remote. We are disappointed that it does not move nearly as much air as our old Casablanca - the RPMs are significantly lower. If you really want a breeze on high, this fan does not provide. Check RPMs before you buy! The way the remote interacts with the fan was somewhat confusing and I had to call Hunter because I thought the fan was defective. Turns out that the speed switch located on the fan has to be set to the highest setting for the remote control speeds to work properly. Silly me, I figured that the speed control on the remote would simply override that set on the fan, but that is not the case. One nice feature is a setting that gradually fades the light over 30 seconds, so you can leave the room before the light goes completely out So, the fan looks nice, the remote control settings were weird, and it does not move enough air. Average.

The new parts almost matched the old assembly parts. The instructions worked well, I had to adjust a few mounting screws then it all fell in place Everything went well on the installation. The brightness of the bulbs are fine once I figured out how to adjust the brightness. Four weeks operating and the fan is smooth and silent. I'm happy with this product.

The lights ar so dim with this light kit that it is essentially useless. I am very disappointed. Why would we buy a ceiling fan with 3 lights if we didn't need the lights for the room illumination.

Just having a bit of trouble getting used to the settings on the remote control. Otherwise very satisfied.

Bought this item and just had it installed today. The lights are indeed very dim (just noticed that another customer had the same problem). Also, I did not know that I need to buy separately a "downrod" as my ceilings are 12ft high. Wish I was offered the option of buying a downrod online, when placing the order for the fan...as I had the electrician come and install it and now I have to schedule and pay for a second appointment. But first, could someone tell me which downrod comes with this fan and where I can purchase it? Thanks.

My installer could not get the remote to work-which is the reason i got this fan due to the placement. if we were to take it down and return to store-that would cost me a lot of money. VERY DISAPPOINTED. also this is the second time i have been asked to review this product-guess I keep getting asked in event i change my mind-

Remote control for dimming light only goes down once you stop turning it up. So if you turn it down to far, you must cycle true the whole cycle to turn it up a little bit.

The installation instructions are a bit challenging for a non-pro, and they don't explain that to test the fan mechanism before connecting the light kit, you must have the fan completely wired (including light kit). The remote is a great feature, particularly if you do not have a double light switch. However it does not have a dimming feature for the lights if the switch is a single connection. This posed no problem to us. The operation is very quiet and effective. Would highly recommend this fan.

Just what we wanted...blades match our stair rails/bright brass matches accents around the room. The fan output is perfect for our large great room...had it in within an hour/remote activated and all. Thank you.

This fan looks as good as our old Hunter that we bought 20 years ago. The trouble is that the three light bulbs make less light than our nightlight over on the kitchen wall!!! What gives??? We are looking into another light kit with LED's or some other... We even tried using LED's (ones equivalent to the 60w bulbs that were with this fan) and the clear globes from our old fan, but it still gives off almost no light!

Bought this fan because it was to be pull chain and receiver/remote, nice because of our high ceiling. Once installed would not work with receiver installed but works fine without it. Have tried several times to speak to Hunter tech support was always put on hold with no answer, have sent two e-mails with no response. Will NEVER EVER buy another Hunter fan or item. Wish I kept all three boxes I would send all three back. I guess I am not the first unhappy customer.

I was happy to find the fan I really wanted at Home Depot. The quality is very good. The installation was a bit tough for our situation.

Very nicely made, looks just like pictured. Was looking for ceiling fan with oak blades and nice light kit. Additional plus is the remote control. Had this fan installed by Electrician so not sure of installation but instructions were very detailed with written/photo directions.

Looks good, and would have rated quality, value and installation higher, however the fan only came with 4 fan blade brackets and the fan has 5 fan blades. It is 1/2 assembled, hanging from the ceiling (useless) and I have to wait several days for the 5th bracket (probably coming from China).

I bought this fan specifically because the product specifications stated that this fan had dimmable lights. There was no reason to assume the spec were incorrect, yet once I got it assembled and installed it became obvious that this feature was absent. I am extremely annoyed as this was the sole reason I bought this product over others and now my only option is to disassemble the entire thing and send it back. DO NOT TRUST WHAT YOU READ.
