When I received the product, I open the box. There were a lot of parts. I was a little nervous so I called on a friend to help me. I never installed a fan before. He seemed to have had no trouble putting it up. It is beautiful and it is the nicest fan I've ever had. Very nice and very quiet. I would highly recommend this product.

I purchased two fans which I had professionally installed so I can't comment on how easy or hard that was, but I've been very happy with the fixtures. I have had them about two months now without any problems. The fans are super quiet and the light is bright. My only "issue" is that there is a slight delay when turning on the light from either the remote or switch. Basically it isn't instant bright light, you have to wait maybe 2-3 seconds for it to gradually get brighter until it reaches the last setting you had it on. I don't think it's a big deal / deal-breaker (at least for me), it just takes some getting used to. You can see in the picture I posted that it looks exactly like one from the website (just ignore the additional wire cover coming out from the top of the fan - the room didn't originally have a ceiling fixture so the electrician had to run wires from the switch). Also, I got lucky the fans were on sale when I bought them, but I thought the fans were well worth the original price - they had everything I wanted: white color, directional lights (not a dome) and a remote.

I purchased this fan in early March and had it professionally installed by an electrician. I like the elegant design of the fan, which goes well with the rest of the room decor. The white color compliments the white trim and moulding in the room. This upgraded version of the Sontera mounts to the ceiling with a ball-and-socket type connection to a short rod. This allows any vibrations from the motor to be dissipated rather than shake the motor to a premature demise as a rigid flush mount would do. The electrician used the enclosed blade balancer to eliminate virtually all of the wiggle of the fan when it ran at full speed. The fan is extremely quiet, a real plus when used in the bedroom. It also moves quite a decent amount of air, rendering the room comfortable. I did not use the 3 incandescent 40W bulbs which came with the fan. I used 3 LED bulbs which are frosted dimmable 60W equivalents, and they look beautiful. In the photo, the room looks darker than it really is when the lights are on because I wanted to show the fan. The remote feature works well, but the remote itself is not as easy to use as the older model's remote. It mounts in a bracket on the wall where there is a bit of annoying wiggle when you press the buttons, whereas the older remote was firmly mounted in its bracket on the wall. Also, the remote is a dark color and in the dark, you have to know the layout of its buttons to push the light button on or change the fan speed. This is a minor issue, but one I find slightly annoying. All in all, however, I love my new fan

Nice looking ceiling fan, light dimmer works fine. The Speed adjustment for the fan only seems to give us a low or medium speed even though we press the high speed setting. The operation is very quiet.

I bought this specifically for remote control use in my bedroom. I thought being able to adjust or turn off the fan without getting out of bed would be ideal. And being able to use the chain for lighting was a huge plus. Installation wasn't bad. However, I found that for some reason, using the pull chain for the light would cause the remote to lose communication. Seeing as I had to go outside to the breaker box every time to re-pair it, I gave up on using the pull chain. Also, I wouldn't call the one I received "bedroom quiet". Despite being perfectly balanced, it makes annoying ticking sounds. I may have to replace it.

The lights are not brite enough. I can't see very well and these lights are to dull.

This is a great fan. Very smooth, quiet and easy to use. I put these in 3 rooms and they are an excellent accent and the produce a bunch of airflow. Definitely worth the investment for your home.

This light is extremely dim for its size. It is more like a nighlight than an overhead light.

There was no indication that there is a dimmer on the light. This would have been nice before the purchase and in the instillation process. Nothing is addressed in the users manual as well.

I had never installed a fan by myself before and it was nerve wracking but I did it and it worked just as designed. I especially love the remote control that allows me to operate the light and fan from the bed. It's quiet and it looks good. The only thing that I don't like, and I'm getting used to it, is the slight delay when you turn the light on.

Bought 6 ceiling fans for a new home. 2 were Hunter, 4 were other manufacturers. The Hunter fans excel, by far, in quiet and balance. With that said, one Hunter fan required some finagling with shims to mount properly (even after having to call the company). This particular fan (Sontera 52"), was the easiest and is the best of all 6 and I am only sorry we didn't purchase Hunter fans all around.

excellent fan performs as expected

I bought this and want to replace the incandescent bulbs with LED. Try and guess what size base for the bulbs. An hour later and I still do not know if it is an E12 (online supplier) or ???A medium base (per electrician)???? Go for a fixture with real light bulbs and forget the candelabra. This is a light fixture with a fan, not candelabra. Regret this purchase because of the stupidity of the design. Forget spending your day trying to figure out information that should be in the pamphlet.

Fan has unacceptable wobble . Should not have to have electrician balance the fan blade by blade . I am paying him by the hour !

This fan was exactly what I was searching for. Great addition to my office! Home Depot made it easy.

This fan is good for the price. I specifically wanted a remote included and Oak-look blades, so my choices were limited. Some negatives I encountered were roughness on the edges of some of the blades, which is visible from below, and some rough edges on the blade-irons and inside the down-rod where it could affect the electrical wiring. Other than that, the directions were very good and easy to follow and the fan works as expected.

Works as advertised. Very quiet. Instructions are good. Can be a challenge when securing light kit. Definitely requires two people for securing light kit.

Quite attractive. It's only been installed a few weeks, but so far, so good.

Perfect replacement for our old Hunter. A pleasant surprise to see blade color option which I did not know. The reverse side had a light wooden color which really pops in our bedroom.

The fan and light kit are of good quality and fairly easy to put together. The only issues were that the fan required a down rod with a larger diameter than our old fan. The wiring instructions were a little difficult to understand as we had a different wiring combination coming from the ceiling.

The light portion does not provide as much light as I was hoping, but the style is sleek and does give our family room a nice look. We love the remote. Only wish it came with a wall holder. Overall, a very good product.

This is our third one of these. We had two in our old house and now adding one two our new house. we have never had a problem with the old units and don't for see any now

I bought 6 for a remodeling job on my home and they work. All operate as described.
