The McCarthy Wall Mount Light is a great, small size for your side entry or outbuildings. This is the smaller model and recommended for smaller areas or small doorways. I installed mine on my garden shed in the backyard as part of a larger project to replace all my outdoor fixtures in the backyard. Instructions are good and the install is easy. Basic electrical tools are all you need. Most parts are included. I recommend using a 60W equiv. LED bulb. The styling of this fixture takes it a notch above, with clear hammered glass (you can see the bulb), and gold accents. Because the fixture hangs down, light distribution is good and the side frames do not block much light. The glass allows maximum illumination. This fixture is part of the McCarthy series so you can replace all the fixtures on your property and have everything match. I ended up replacing five so far, and plan to replace more. I recommend the medium size fixtures for most applications and the large size fixtures for the front of the house and main entryways.

I replaced my current old style mid 90s light with this light (see photo of old light) it needed a replacement and was starting to show its age. First impression out of the box is this light looks amazing for the price. The hammered glass looks way more high end than a light in this price range. The metal parts look nice too though not as high a quality. When looking at the light, people are looking at the glass part so not a worry. The instructions provided are in several languages and like all of these type of instructions lacking if you dont know what your doing. I installed mine in about 30 minutes. It fits on a standard outdoor box and has adjustable screws so you can set it up to for many depths. Make sure to take the glass off before installing as it is heavy and can be difficult. Otherwise a nice easy installation. The only negative I could see if the bottom open end of the glass area. A screen or the likes would have been nice so bugs dont end up getting inside the glass area. There is a metal collar on the bottom and I plan on putting some aluminum screen there. I also need to find a bulb that is an led that looks nice, went with a CFL for now.

It was time to replace the lights on the front of our garage and front porch after twenty long years of the same ones. What was once shiny brass, had long since turned a dark, tarnished bronze. I selected these McCarthy Bronze wall mount lamps, which are classy, yet traditional in appearance. I really like that they are offered in three different sizes and have matching chain hung and post mount versions which provide for a well coordinated look. I got two medium wall mount and a chain hung. The ribbed glass is very wavy and, even though it is clear, you can hardly see the bulb. That doesn't restrict you to only choosing fancy, designer bulbs, but allows you the option of using a bulb that's perhaps more functional than stylish. That was important to me because I use "smart" bulbs that I can remotely control, and they aren't very pretty. These classy McCarthy fixtures dress your home up and add value as well.

The supplied screws were a bit longer than I had available space for...I had to use other screws I had laying around my workshop.

More than met my expectations. Was also easy to mount on wall. Access to lightbulb is made easy with the opening at the bottom of the fixture. Previous enclosed fixtures resulted in rusted and corroded access features to the lightbulb areas which is why I had to replace the damaged light fixtures with these that I purchased.

I love this light fixture. I just wish I had bought more than one. Can’t wait to install.

The Home Decorators Collection McCarthy 1-Light Bronze Outdoor Wall Lantern Sconce was the perfect fit for our White Spanish Mediterranean with Espresso accent colored home. The 3 sconces really stand out and adds tons of curb appeal to the home.

Rob, at the Hadley store worked with me patiently to buy lights that don’t get thrown away when the light burns out. Instead he pointed me to Dusk to Dawn lightbulbs
