The Home Decorators Collection McCarthy 1-Light Bronze Outdoor Wall Lantern Sconce was the perfect fit for our White Spanish Mediterranean with Espresso accent colored home. The 3 18.5" sconces really stand out and adds tons of curb appeal to the home. I also purchased a 11.5" as well for the back patio.

These lights are exactly what we were looking for. No problems, easy to replace. Be aware that it may be different shape than what you presently have, requiring a ne base to mount it on.

This light was easy to install, as it comes fully assembled. There is no need to assemble it or even install the glass. The base is attached to the electrical box, the wires attached using included wire nuts, and the fixture attached to the base using two nuts. Removing the old fixture was the hardest part. The fixture is in bronze with gold highlights, giving it a traditional yet modern look. The textured glass looks old, but allows great light through. We used a light sensor and small LED appliance bulb to allow us to leave it on all the time. The light looks great all night and costs only pennies to operate.

Super easy to install and the finish is exactly as seen on the pictures.

We ended up buying two of these to sit on top of our garage (you can see what we were replacing and part of my install in the pictures i've attached to this review). It has a really nice look to it and luckily it comes in even bigger sizes, so we are currently planning on using the bigger size to be installed by our door to have one unified and aligned look for the front of our home! Neighbors will be jealous for sure!

Our outdoor sconce needed replacing, and this was the perfect solution! Solid construction and quality materials were used. Everything is included in the box for installation, including brackets and screws to mount to in existing exterior pan box. The fixture is like a dark bronze, with subtle gold accents. The bottom of the glass is open ended, so bugs may crawl/fly up there. Highly Recommend this sconce.

I was in need of an upgrade for my front porch light. The wiring in my builder installed light was done poorly and rather than fixing the old one I opted for a new one. I could not be more pleased with the pay it looks. The base is quite large compared to my previous light which posed a small problem, but I was able to figure it out. The only issue I had with the light is that the mounting bracket and cross bar was not static and I was not able to lock it into place to keep the light from going on at a weird angle. I was finally able to get the light straight by holding if firmly in place and tightening the cap nuts a bit more than I normally would have. I also used a sealer around the edge of the light to keep it secure should the cap nuts loosen over time. Overall a great light fixture, but you might need someone else to hold the light in place while you finish the install, that was difficult to do alone.

Very nice lanterns. I just replaced my old lights in front of house with these new lights and the front of my house looks amazing.

This product really make my home look good.

These light were good quality and look very nice. I knocked on star off because the bolts that were preinstalled with the fixture could not be used in most cases. I ended up buying shorter bolts before I realized that the ones most would need were included in the cellophane pack with the wire nuts. It would have been better and less confusing if both sets of bolts were with the wire nuts.

This did not include any kind of gasket to seal around the electrical box, for me, this is a porch light well under the over hang of the front walk next to the front door so it is well protected from the elements, but if this had been at the back door that would be an issue. It also took several attempts to get the right combination of screw lengths and screw holes to use in the bracket to get it installed. That said, once installed it looks pretty good.

This McCarthy 1-Light Bronze Outdoor Wall Mount is a nice light and well made.Came well packaged. I like the clear hammered glass and bronze finish. But hoping it was the 11 1/2" size. This one is very large at 18" and is to big to install on my house 1540 sq ft Rambler. This was a Substitute product. I originally choose the 1-Light Bronze with Brass Highlights Outdoor 5 in. Wall Mount Lantern with Clear Seedy Glass which the height is 10" which is the size of my 20 yr old light I was hoping to replace. That is why I gave it 4 stars.

Beautiful Bronze with Gold highlights wall mount lantern! Kinda heavy in weight. Instructions are easy to follow. I replaced an old outside fixture and didn't need the brackets that came with it. Your screws and wire caps came with it. The electrician was here doing work and it took him 10 minutes to install it. You have to provide a bulb. Even though the fixture I took down was small one the new fixture fit without any alterations to the building. Its not a plastic fixture! Great quality workmanship! It looks so good the guys doing work on this renovation job kept saying it looks so good! I just received a call from the electrician about this lantern, he was telling a lady about it and called me for the details. I also sent him a picture of it and he's on his way to buy one for her! This Lantern was a part of the Seeds program and I love it!

Can be a little tricky to install depending on the type of box you have to hang it on. That said, it looks and performs great !! Both the sensitivity and “time on” work perfectly!

As proof of impartiality, just click on my nickname and see the average of the ratings I have given over 200 reviews to date. ==== Installation ==== This went fairly smoothly after I realized that the machine screws in the mounting plate were in the wrong holes. I just removed them and placed them in the holes that were the closest together. Naturally this wasn't discovered until after I had the plate mounted on the electrical box, so I had to remove it. It does take a few tries to line up the screws with the front plate but it wasn't too hard. I also received another light fixture from the same company and it had two small rubber washers to go under the thumb nuts. This one had none so I got some from my workshop and installed them. Their purpose is to keep the water out from behind the front plate. ==== Operation ==== This is a standard motion sensing light that operates normally only at night. It has no other function and does not have a mode to have the light on all the time except by setting it each night using a special sequence of power application. It worked well at this function, sensing movement in the area within about 25 feet and was responsive to motion in any direction, including straight at or from the lamp. There is a setup mode that works for a brief time at any time of the day or night and is used to help in positioning the lamp and adjusting the sensitivity and lamp duration. The controls are accessed by turning the lamp body until the controls are available on the left side.. Normally the controls are partly hidden in the back. I used an incandescent 40 Watt bulb and that sufficed to light up the near area. An LED bulb would be more efficient. The lamp is mostly non-ferrous and rust resistant, but the round top cover is steel and it will rust in time. ==== Summary ==== Installation was not hard but slightly confusing. Performance was acceptable for range and sensitivity. Not fully rust resistant.

I really like the look of the McCarthy wall lantern. It is easy to install, and really looks great. The motion sensor works very well, and the clear hammered glass is very stylish. It uses 60 watt bulbs, and gives off a good amount of light. The motion sensor is nice when walking up to the door and trying to find your keys. I think this is a great light for the money.

The security and safety benefit of the motion activated light makes this unit a winner. I have the McCarthy collection of lights on my lamp post, garage, and front doors, and was looking to add another to the back door. When I found this one with a built-in motion sensor, I decided it was the way to go. I like the look of this series of light, with the clear hammered glass globes, the bronze with gold accent finish, and the hanging pendent design. There are several different light/sizes in the collection, so you can outfit your entire home if you so desire with matching fixtures. Installation is easy and standard, secure the mounting bracket to the box, make the electric connections, and secure the fixture to the mount with two thumb screws. The light is a nice size for an entry door application, overall about 6 inches wide and 12 inches deep. It hangs like a pendant from the rectangular mounting base. One element I would change is that the mount is a very nice looking rectangular base, but it extends down past the typical surface area of a “round mount” fixture if you are using it on a vinyl siding white mounting plate. This can be corrected if you re-drill the mounting holes to the center of the base, but that’s not an ideal fix as you have two extra holes. This isn’t an issue if you have a flush mount box, like typically found with a brick front. The unit worked as expected, with the motion detection picking up movement in a wide area. A nice feature of this light is you can rotate the top part of the light to get at the controls, and then rotate them back to the rear so they cannot be seen. Two controls are provided, one for sensitivity – to define range of detection from about twenty feet down to about five, and another to select the mode of operation, from test mode to auto mode. In auto mode, the light only turns on when dark and you can select the amount of time it stays on after detecting motion from about 10 second to 10 minutes. It takes up to a 60-watt incandescent bulb, or equivalent LED.

Attractive and well made lamp that replaced an old brass entry lamp that had seen better days. I wanted another motion sensor type in a more modern style and this one fit the bill. I like the style and that it is made from metal and glass -- good quality components. The "gold" color is a cooler, lighter gold. Not glitzy -- very stylish and sophisticated. When the lamp arrived the two screws that hold the metal cage to the fixture were improperly inserted, so that they stuck out from the top. While trying to extract them and get them in correctly, one screw broke off in the cage. It's at this point you hope the manufacturer has good customer support! When I contacted them and explained the situation, they quickly sent out a replacement cage and I had it in hand within 2 days. Couldn't ask for better customer support. From this point the installation went smoothly. Nothing special here, just the old "white to white, black to black, copper to copper" install. Easy peasy. It looks great and the motion sensor is doing its job. Very happy overall with the lamp. I will need to find a nicer looking "bug light" for the fixture eventually (no bulb came with the lamp), but used what I had on hand for now. The only thing I didn't care for were the cap nuts that held the fixture to the wall. I substituted some round cap nuts that matched the finish. This however, was a personal taste issue.

This motion sensing exterior light is simple to install and use. It is made out of aluminum and glass so it should last a very long time. It has an easy to adjust sensor that can be made accessible just by turning the lamp a quarter turn. It also knows when its light outside, and it will not light up during that time. Comes with a three year warranty which is nice. I really like this light, looks very good, I like the style and workmanship.

Easy to install and they looked great. I used the shorter screws to mount the light fixture to the mounting bracket and it worked perfect for me that way. I started out with the matching motion activated front porch lights then bought this non-motion porch light for the back deck. Liking the way that looked I bought 2 more for the upper deck. Since the store I shop only had two left, I bought them online from the store and they put those 2 in customer service pickup. Perfect, no worry about driving to The Home Depot and finding one or both sold...

The McCarthy 1-Light Bronze Outdoor light is a stunning and practical outdoor light fixture. It is a very solid wall mount light, and the glass has a nice, water-pattern texture to it. It was fairly easy to install, although I ended up using the mounting hardware from my previous light fixture, since it fit the existing mounting better than the new mounting bracket would. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow, and I had it up in no time at our back door. I would like to put these on either side of our garage next. Only thing to make it better would be a glass enclosure on the bottom to keep the bugs out. But overall, very classy.

This outdoor light is attractive and sheds a great deal of light on the area surrounding it. At only $65, I'm hoping the finish on it will hold up for several years - too early to know at this point. However, I know that Home Depot stands by the products they sell so I have confidence I'm going to enjoy this fixture for many years to come.

This outdoor light is nice looking. It was very easy to install and includes the mounting bracket, mounting bolts, and wire caps. No assembly required for the light itself. It is a pretty easy installation if you are replacing/upgrading a light as we were. Simply turn off the power to the light, remove the old light and install this new one. Only three wires to deal with, white, black, and green (ground). The installation instructions are pretty easy to follow. The mounting bolts include nuts which allow you to adjust for various depths of the mounting bracket on your mounting box. It takes a standard (legacy size) E26 (North America Medium size) bulb up to 100 watts.

Very stylish wall mount light. It has a contemporary look which fits very well with a conservative house. Definitely a very classy looking light! with a high quality feel! The light comes with everything you will need to mount the light. The screws that came with the light should work for normal exterior electrical boxes. I have a very shallow box mounted within my brick which required purchasing shorter screws. (Not a real big issue) The mounting bracket is very easy to figure out. Instructions read really well. I would definitely recommend!!!

I chose the medium size light for the door and the small size light in the series for the garage doors. These medium size light which are still fairly large – measuring about 15 inches long and 8 inches wide. Installation was a breeze. Just install the mounting plate, connect the wires with supplied wire nuts, put the fixture in place, and secure with two nuts. The unit comes with both long and short screws for mounting the light to the mounting plate, and you should determine which you need first before installing the bracket. I needed the smaller screws. I installed a decorative LED bulb. Unit is rated for up to a 100 watt bulb. Installed the light looks great. The light has a dark bronze finish with gold accents, and small style touches that make it look good. I like the clear hammed slightly ribbed glass globe, it adds class. It also passes plenty of light to your area. I now have matching lights for my front door, garage door, and lamp post, and the entire look is a big upgrade to the old builder brass units I had.
