I have this fire pit for 3 years now and it's been fantastic. Just keep it covered and don't let it rained on and you're golden with rust issues. I live in Minnesota so I cover it over the winter with no issues as well. I did line the bottom with tiny pebbles though to help heat transfer on the bottom and it works great. If it's not covered and gets wet it will defiantly rust, Mine was rained on a few times but I just make a fire the next night and dry it out. No issues.

As an ex employee hoping to be one again I love all of Home Depot products and this fire pit is actually the second one I've had.

I bought this for my husband for Fathers Day to replace one that had completely rusted out after years of use. Stayed in the box for a while but made its debut a couple of weeks ago. Within a week the cover and parts of the pit itself were covered with rust. I was shocked. Plan to contact the manufacturer - I don’t expect it to last forever and some surface rust is expected but I definitely expected it to resist rust for more than two weeks. Very disappointed.

Box came with a hole in the side and there are a few dents on the fire pit.

Easy to assemble and get great use with it

Wonderful fire pit!! Easy to assemble. Lightweight enough to move around but very well built and high quality. Looks beautiful!

Used it maybe 10 times. Kept it out of elements for most of year. Lid rusted quickly.

For this price I really like it. I have only used it once but I can tell that with extreme heat first the top may start to warp. It was super easy to set up and looks great.

This thing is as flimsy as they come! It’s made out of literally foil thick steel and will erode through in about a season.

Worked as expected. Easy to put together and is light. Would recommend buying a cover.

Easy to assemble and does the job well. Only drawback is that it's hard to clean out ashes between fires. Generally speaking it satisfies my needs,

The Perfect size. This is my second one. Used my first one alot. The temperture of the fire did take out some of the wire top. I think fire maybe have been to hot or to much wood to close to the top. But I got the second because I liked it a lot !!!!

Quick to assemble and reasonably priced we use it at the cabin. Large fire pit area and rotating cooktop, works great

My old fire pit was about 4 yrs. old...and was rusting out at the bottom. That's a hazard so it had to go! It received tons of use; its days were done, and it was ready for the fire pit graveyard. The Hampton Bay 34" model is a bit larger, looks great out on my deck and was a life saver as I spend a great deal of time on my deck, year-round relaxing and gazing into the flames. This model is extremely easy to assemble, but the cover was out of stock at two different H/D locations, so I've had to modify. I bought a new grill cover for my grill and am using the old one to cover my fire pit (temporarily when not in use) until I can locate the correct cover for the F/P. "No regrets". I recommend the brand, just make sure the cover is in stock before purchasing.

Got this only a year and a half ago. Literally 5 months or so outside of warranty. These items are made of fairly cheap metal. Had a fire tonight and as fire was nearly done I noticed a hole within the embers. Between rust, heat and the thinness of the metal a 4in diameter hole fell through and onto the underside catch plate. Of course, this "guard" on the bottom was also partially broken and allowed hot embers to fall onto my yard. I had to grab the hose and quickly put out fire. Waste of money
