does what it says. you must turn on flashlight before plugging in so as to work as a power failure light. bright but complaint it stays on all day it may be in a dimmer spot. bought thirteen .

It worked out of the package and does not flicker...
It worked out of the package and does not flicker at the slightest change in ambient light. And since it doesn’t motion detect, it does not turn on when the dogs go past or the furnace blows. It does have to be placed where the 2 bright LEDs don’t shine in peoples eyes.

I bought these to replace two rechargable flashlights that had died. I wanted something that I could leave plugged in, it would light up only in the event of a power failure. This is not well described until you open the package.Returned them.

This product is not suitable for average homes. The light stays on most of the day and is too bright for night. The one that is in use is across a cat-walk 20 feet from the master bedroom in a short hall between two be rooms. That is where the outlet is, so you have no choice but for it to stay on. Basically it is a plug in flashlight and not at all what you need if the electricity goes off. You would have to rearrange furniture to use it because it has to 100% exposed or it stays on.

I have one of these on every floor of the house and also use one as a bathroom nightlight.
If the power goes out while you’re awake, the battery back up LED light kicks in and you can activate the flashlight feature. Also gives off enough light to navigate around a large room without putting the light on - like if you return home to a dark house. Great multi-functional product!

instructions were easy. good product for every day and then during a power failure we still have lights in the house as well as a flashlight.
We already had another type of ge rechargeable led power failure night light and it is much brighter than this one. These were a few bucks cheaper to buy, but, it would be better if they had the same brightness level.

Nice little night light. In the event of a power failure, it will give off enough light to allow safe mobility through parts of the house. LED shouldn't use much electricity and should last quite a while. Going to order a couple more.

Good little Powerfail night light
Right out of the box and on to the wall. Acceptable night light. Not sure if there's any difference in the intensity of the night light and flashlight. The unit has four little LED's. I would of thought that two would be on for the night light and all four when in flashlight mode, but the four are on no matter what mode.
Maybe I have a defective one or that's the way it's supposed to be. Anyway, since the unit doesn't give off a whole lot of light it works fine for a nightlight in the hallway and hopefully during a power failure it will give enough light to walk around.
