Had this induction cooktop for about two months and it works as advertised. Water boils in about two minutes. There is a humming when the unit is running, but not too bad. Only negative is finding pans that work properly.

I am so very pleased with my new GE Profile 36" Induction cooktop. Having used electric cooking for 40 years, this product is superior to all others. The temperature controls are fantastic, allowing for simmering, sautéing, and a full out boil exactly how you need it to be. Fantastic! My only regret is getting the stainless steel trim. It has scratched and there isn't much I can do about it. I would wholeheartedly recommend this cooktop without hesitation. At long last I have control!!!!

I have never had a cook top that I loved soooo much, cooks great and is so easy to clean.

It is difficult to buy appliances, they are all on display but no way to try them...so when you spend this kind of money it's a leap of faith. Bottom line , besides getting 50 Amps and installation, it's worth it. You can keep the top clean and it does cook faster....good upgrade for any kitchen!!!!

got this for my wife for Christmas replacing a GE Profile cooktop (nothing wrong with it either) to speed her time in the kitchen, at first she didn't think she needed it but after a short time she is loving and recommended it to all her friends and relatives.

installed in January 2014 used almost daily. absolutely love it , it is easy to clean ,to use and looks great in my kitchen. I read reviews about cookware, I try to buy on sale, that has worked for me. love, love, love it .

This induction cooktop cooks as good or better than gas. Heats extremely fast, excellent temperature control, 5 burners, easy to clean, and attractive.

We put this cooktop in our remodel and we love it. We heard GE was the induction to get and that was right. It has good even heating, super boiling, & the lows are really low. One thing to consider -- The min. clear space below the housing is 12' so we were limited on what type of drawers to put below - I lost a shallow utensil drawer that I thought we were going to have. - worth it. It does look dirty quickly so I clean it daily - one small bit of cooktop cleaner - then a buff with a paper towel, & Wa la! Beautiful! 9 weeks since install & we love it!

This is my first induction cooktop - It's the best cooking experience I have had! The workmanship is excellent, and feature for feature, the price is right.

I am so happy to have this in my home!   Clean up is such a breeze and cooking is fast!  I don't have to use high settings and when I turn it off, it is off...no more boiling! I was not sure in the beginning, but I am sold!  Finding the right pots and pans is a little challenging, but worth the work!

My husband just installed our new GE induction stove top it is all it was touted to be.  One cup of water came to a rolling boil in 38 seconds.  The control is great.

Just bought but already like how it looks and cooks. The pots quickly get hot and cooking is easily regulated. Food an actually be simmered. The ceramic cook top is easy to clean. Know I will enjoy the look in my island for a long time.

I brought this product because I thought low frequency induction is safe. However, I realized I need to double check when I am using it on a daily basis, since this cooktop operate at a high power. I searched online and went through all documents. There is nowhere GE talked about its frequency. GE/or its representative only said it operated on "high frequency", but not a number like micowave oven usually use 2.5GHz??? I care about the health of my family, please release more information like the frequency you use. Thanks.

Switched from gas to induction cooktop for the safety of the grandkids. So far we love it. Easier than the gas cook top to clean plus almost just as fast. Looks great and easy to install. Just make sure you have a 50 amp service for the hookup. Enjoy

I am really enjoying the additional control of the induction cooktop. The kettle boils almost immediately. It is fabulous.

I love this cooktop - it's exactly what I wanted, and I am so pleased that the sales person told me how to use it to the best advantage. You need to use the cleaning products that are recommended, the types of pots and pans that work best. Mine is in pristine condition after about 6 months of use. And you use less energy - the cooktop heat is so precise that you can cook on a lower heat level. Also, I like the fact that it's produced in the USA.

I have enjoyed this cooktop for over 2 years now.  I love that it fits a large number of my pots and pans at one time.  It is so easy to clean, no burners or knobs to get in the way.  Stylish, convenient and durable.  You can boil a pot of water in a flash and the burners cool down quickly when turned off.  My favorite feature with a small child in the house is the control button that turns everything off when you are not using it. I have had a few issues with it - the computer components have gone completely out on it recently.  The cooktop is a 2007 production, but I have only had it just over 2 years now.  I would still recommend this product to a friend or family member.  I would love to have all GE Profile appliances, I just can't afford them all on a small teacher salary.

I have only had this for a week but so far love the efficiency of induction technology compared to my old electric burners. My only gripe is that the glass dirties easily.  I tried different solutions and discovered very hot water wiped off quickly does the best job, even better than the little bottle of cleaning fluid that came with it which leaves a film.

We are very pleased with the performance of our induction cook top. There were slight reservations regarding a new technology, (we were accustomed to gas cooking). After a most speedy pot of boiling water, we were hooked. The ease at which the cooking surface can be cleaned is a big plus. We would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Love this cooktop and induction cooking in general. It's very easy to keep clean. So easy to cook with a consistent temperature. The only drawback is sometimes the induction causes it to make a humming sound when cooking. This usually is not a problem, but sometimes seems to be excessively loud. Also had to buy all new stainless pots and pans and sell our wedding Calphalon! was worth it though.  

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just love the speed at which water boils with this induction cook top. Cleaning is a breeze and it always looks clean and neat. My only issue is, the cook top came with some cook top cleaner and a scouring pad. What is not told to you is that the scouring pad will scratch the stainless steel trim around the cook top. So now my clean, neat looking cook top has scratches on the stainless steel trim. Wish the control lock would work when one of the burners is on locking out the other burners from being turned on. All in all, this cook top performs beautifully and I would buy again!

I really like the GE induction Cooktop. We debated whether to try it, but it cooks quickly and evenly. I am thrilled that as soon as you turn off the burner, coking stops immediately. The reason I rated features and appearance lower is because the burners are a bit hard to see. i need to turn on the microwave light above the Cooktop to see the outlines of the burners. It also will hum when more than 1 burner is turned on. It hums louder as you increase the heat. In spite of the humming, we are very happy with the choice we made!

My wife hates electric cooktops. She loves this cooktop. She loves the even cooking when frying. It cleans up easily since any food that spills doesn't get cooked onto the surface. The surface will get hot as the pan will transfer heat back onto the cooktop but it's nowhere near as hot as an electric cooktop. You do have to buy compatible cookware so keep that in mind if you're buying it. Aluminum won't work. If you can stick a magnet to the base, it should work. We bought some compatible pots and pans from Ross and Ikea so they don't have to be expensive. Some cheaper pans will emit a mild hum (sounds like the quiet hum from a florescent light fixture). It's not loud though. I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't read about it first. Cast Iron will work as well. We did some tests with it. After putting a pan on the cooktop and turning it on, I could feel heat emanating from the pan in about 10 seconds. We were able to bring a 3 qt sauce pan filled with water to a full boil in about 3 minutes and a 16 qt stock pot to a full boil in about 13 minutes. If you're buying the 36", they require a 50 amp circuit so make sure you're wired for that. The 30" requires a 40 amp circuit. The instructions for hooking it up were clear.

Good thing we had purchased a five year extended service plan. After 7 attempts to repair the unit, it was replaced. The lights keep coming on and beeping. The unit failed to work. We decided to give GE a second try, it's a great cooking experience, and hope the same things doesn't happen.

The current one started showing scratches within two days and gets worse by the day, (all with the same cookware as was used with the first cooktop). It appears GE has gone with a cheaper glass for profitability sake. Too bad, outside of that the heating elements work great.

I have used gas, electric and now this induction technology and I can't believe the difference. I would definitely recommend!
