Our first use of this induction cooktop was fantastic. I'm a guy and it was obvious even to me how to use it without reading the manual. (OK my wife read the manual later and confirmed I was using it correctly.) Water boils much faster than gas, frying bacon is much more consistent than with gas or electric as the temperate does not change. The area about the "burner" does not heat up and everything cools down faster so we don't heat the kitchen up-important in southern FL. We should have switched to induction cooktop earlier.

Induction cooktop is very nice
The cooktop works beautifully. The packaging it came in was flimsy and was not protected real well as everything was loose. You do not want this because the cooktop is so expensive and is electronic which is easily damaged. Seems to be without damage.

Better than gas
We switched from gas to induction. The induction boils water and heats much faster than gas. Induction also gives more precise control over the temperature. In addition, the smooth induction cooktop is much easier to clean than the gas cooktop.

Excellent Cooktop
Fast, powerful, clean, great looking. I was skeptical until I read the CR reviews giving the highest scores ever for any cooktops to the induction models. (Only negative is the stainless frame that got scratched up in the first week of use - look at the frameless model.) I was a gas-only cook before; now, I wouldn't do anything but induction. Kitchen stays cool no matter how many boiling pots we have going. Almost no lost heat and energy to the atmosphere as with gas. All the energy goes directly to the pan. Low heat is constant and as low as you want to go. Low boil is foolproof. Simmer is perfect, no guessing. My spaghetti sauce simmers for hours at exactly the temperature I want. Impressed with this cooktop daily. Really unless you must have the look of gas, you have to check out induction.

Great induction cooktop
We had to have an electric cooktop or oven, but did want the old-fashioned kind and had no experience with induction cooktops. We chose this cooktop with some apprehension, but are amazed at how easy it is to use and clean. Glad we bought this one.

Clean, efficient cooking
I love to cook and for years have lusted after a gas cook top. When the electric stove finally needed replacing I researched all my options, reading many online reviews and discussions posts. A review of induction cooking on an obscure blog convinced me that induction was the way to go rather than gas. And I'm SO glad I did. Not only is the cook top incredibly clean and streamlined in looks, it makes cooking so much more efficient. Temperature control is instantaneous. This model has a well-designed layout, and the selection of element sizes have been appropriate for every meal I've prepared to date. I also appreciate the safety of an induction cook top - the elements and pot handles don't retain heat, and the cook top does not heat up unless an appropriate pan makes contact with the element. A neighbor who confessed to being a messy chef does not like his induction cook top at all - and I would agree that induction cooking requires you to clean up splatters and foods that boil over, but I have not encountered any problems. (It depends on your cooking style is, I guess!) Easy to clean and very simple to operate with the touch-button sensors, this GE cooktop has been a hugely welcome upgrade to our kitchen and to my cooking experience in general.

Very Satisfied
I bought this unit two months ago to replace a 20-year old induction cooktop. I have been very satisfied with its performance so far and only hope it will be durable for many more years to come. The new cooktop is quieter and more powerful than the old unit. It also looks great.

Good induction cooktop
It's a good induction cooktop. The reason that I can't rate it higher is because:
1. Not easy to change the setting of a cooking element. For example, if you want to change from 9 to 3, you need to keep pressing the "-" for about 2 seconds.
2. The timer is useless. It only sounds an alarm when the time is up. I can do it better with my cell phone. The timer should control the cooking time of a cooking element.

Pricey
It looks nice and heats things up quickly. Since the bottom of the pan must be flat and magnetic we are limited on cook ware availability. Had to give away all our old pans.

Looks great
I have this installed in an island with soapstone counters. It looks wonderful. Considered gas, but the expense to run the lines was too great in my neighborhood. Have always loved Induction Cooking and am so glad I made this choice. What a pleasure to use.

Spectacular cooktop
When I went shopping to replace my electric cooktop, I never thought about an induction one. As I learned more about it, I was convinced it was an excellent option. And when I read reviews and learned about the abbreviated cooking times, I was convinced. And then, the sleek design of the cooktop and the ease of cleaning, WOW I bought it! And I so happy I did. It is all I expected and more. A spectacular cooktop.

Induction is Awesome!
We built a new house and I am cooking with induction for the first time. I grew up with electric but spent the last decade with gas. Induction is the very best of both! I've been a life long lover of GE products and this is no exception. I am still getting used to the touch controls (versus knobs) but that is what makes clean up a breeze. The temperature changes are even more immediate than with gas. I will not be going back to gas. This also had a nice price point.

Beautiful Stovetop!
I bought this about a month ago when I had my kitchen counters replaced. I had an older electric element-style stovetop. This one is so much nicer, very easy to use, and very quick to heat up my pots and pans! It's very easy to clean with the proper cooktop cleaner, and always looks nice. The only thing I don't like is that I have to remember to turn the "lock" button on in order to clean it, or the magnetic elements turn on, since it's a touch-screen. But that's not a big deal; the benefits far outweigh that issue! I love the clean, sleek appearance! No more cleaning burner bibs!

Looks great! Cooks great!
Purchased about 2 months ago and am loving it. I set the cooking temp to what I want, say medium, and the food cooks at medium. I also like the fact that there is a control lock and a timer. The cook top is very easy to keep clean. Only drawback was the price, but, if it continues to perform as it is, I think it is worth the cost.

Excellent Cooktop
We love this top. Bought it for a kitchen remodel because wife did not want gas. You do need induction cookware, but we already had a set. Super quick. You can boil water faster than putting it in the microwave. If we had to do over would probably get the model without stainless trim.

Induction is the way to go.
An older GE induction cook-top was in our house when we bought the place ten years ago. We had never heard of induction cooking but immediately adapted to it; it has the best features of gas and electric cooking combined. We recently updated our kitchen and had no question about putting in a new induction cook-top. At the same time we had been so satisfied with our old GE model we stuck with the brand and have had no regrets.
