Clean appearance, lighting is great and the amount of speeds of fan is great.

Anybody who's height is more then 5.7 should not buy this product. Coz it has sharp edge and corner. You will get very bad hurt. Trust me. I contacted them but no use. I am owner and my order no : W874823146

Be careful when ordering this. This is way too long for an 8 foot ceiling. I had to get it trimmed down to accommodate a low ceiling (and that was difficult to find someone who could do the job properly.) This is better suited for a 9-10 ceiling height. (Had to get two light fixtures replaced soon after it was installed.). The clearance from the countertop is 30 inches after 8 inches was trimmed off.

The hood and lights seem to perform quite well, however it hangs very low (due to 8' ceiling). Is there a kit or modification available that would raise the hood by several inches? It presents a hazard.

Already having a GE Profile gas range and under counter oven, we knew GE quality to be excellent. When shopping for an island range hood, we naturally looked at GE Profile as well as other brands. After reading reviews on this hood, some stating the fan was noisy, and it seemed very large and complicated to install, we had concerns, but knowing GE quality, we purchased it anyway and found none of that to be true. The fan is quiet and installation was easy. We would definitely purchase it again.

This hood does NOT fit 8 foot ceilings. If you have an 8 foot ceiling, go to the next hood vent. I ordered this hood based on the information on the question and answer page saying that it would fit a 7'11" - 9'10" ceiling. See my pictures attached. Absolutley ridiculous. The worst part is I contacted Home Depot and GE and they refuse to take the item back. Speaks volumes of their customer service. Disappointed to say the very least.

This is a beautiful island hood. I was afraid that it was going to stick out like a soar thumb but it looks fabulous in our new kitchen. Love the features and its power.

We have just replaced our entire kitchen with GE Profile Series appliances. Upon installation it's clear this hood is far too low. If you're standing close enough to reach the back eyes (and not under 4' tall) then you can't see the back eyes at all. It's not a functional hood because of how low it is and it can only be adjusted to hang even lower.

G.E. has developed the perfect business model. Make a product that breaks after 3 years, with moderate use (motor failure) and than have the replacement part cost more than buying a brand new model. Not to mention that it keeps the service technicians busy and well paid to inspect the unit which they probably knew the outcome before even looking at the unit.

Pro: - stylish design, quality stainless steel, modern aesthetic - strong fan, however 4th speed (BOOST) remains on only temporarily for a couple minutes before kicking back down to 3rd speed...this is not mentioned anywhere in literature Cons: - My parts packet was missing leveling screws (shimmed ceiling support instead) - 4 LED lighting only has 2 fixed settings...high and low. Would definitely prefer adjustable dimming knob to select high/low and everything in between - LED Kelvin level is fixed, you cannot choose warmer settings (2700K - 3500K etc)...there should be an internal switch to allow 4-5 settings like most LED fixtures sold - To replace LED bulbs (if one burns out for example) the literature states "LED lights lights are replaceable by a service technician only...see Owners Manual for service contact information." Why? Well because one needs to remove 12 screws in order to drop the bottom panel and expose the bulb wiring harness. This reflects poor engineering and foresight, leading to unnecessary and costly service calls. Each bulb should be accessible by perhaps unscrewing individual lens covers and simply replacing the bulb. Or something similar. - Installation instructions are poor and the illustrations are lacking. a. This is an ISLAND RANGE HOOD yet the directions state in a few areas the "These vent hoods are designed to be installed onto a wall with no above cabinets." and "This hood must be installed onto a wall." Clearly this verbiage belongs in another manual, and is boilerplate apparently. b. Steps 3 through 7 are poorly written and illustrated. For example, there is not reference to ceiling height and desired clearances when attaching the lower vertical supports to the lower horizontal supports. Step 6 illustration only shows the lower assembly when it should actually show both lower and upper attached to the ceiling. c. 8" duct illustrations and installation steps are omitted from all the steps except #10. Would be helpful if this were detailed. d. In my application the ceiling height was 97" so I did not use the upper duct covers (vented), because doing so would have resulted in the vent hood installation height of only 24" above the cooktop (Table PV977, page12). This was unacceptably low. I used the lower vertical supports only, and cut/drilled them as required to fit. Obviously this was a modification from the instructions, but based on what I've seen on YouTube, I'm not the only one to face this issue. Maybe a reference to "modify for your application" would have been a welcome instruction.

Bought it for a 8 feet ceiling and it is to high without no option to raise it.

I like fan strenght, my dislike would be its not sturdy enough. Moves, even with attached to main studs. Light settings brightness is also great.

I love it! It's much quieter than my old one. It is lower than I would like but it's as high as it would go with our ceilings.

I love how this works. It's attractive too. Highly recommend

The light from this vent is very subtle and it has a strong vent capability. It is a bit noisy when on high but it works well!

The hood looks great but is difficult to install compared to European brands. Also you need an 8.5’ ceiling height if you want to get 30” of clearance between the hood and countertop. An 8’ ceiling will only get you 25” of clearance which is a little low.

Great look, great function, but the lights keep going out. GE techs have replaced the lighting components twice within 7 months, and they just went out again. Very frustrating!

It's a lot noisier than expected.

This product came in our brand new house nd appers to be of good quality.

There is a manufacturer defect where the filter doesn’t fit into the range completely and so it is a little lloose

This Hood sucks, literally!! It is so powerful that I love to turn it on just to clear the air in my house. The lights are perfect and the lines are sexy.

Looks great over the kitchen island. Plenty of light from the four corners and multiple fan speeds are a plus.

It is wonderful!

so happy with this product..but is loud as are all vent hoods!
