In regard to installing this for an 8 ft. ceiling we recommend checking out the chart on page 12 of your installation instructions here: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/18/18dca202-336c-4b24-84cd-e8ea07aa0f42.pdf - You may not be able to install it that high from the cooktop given your ceiling height. A:  Hi Backnine, we appreciate you reaching out to us. We do not have any duct cover extensions for model PV977NSS available. The hood comes with a cover that will extend up to ceilings 10'4" in height. For anything over this, you would need to get custom made from a third party. However, according to page 12 of the installation instructions, the maximum distance the bottom of the hood can be from the cooktop is 36".
