This is an item that we must replace as needed. The product does exactly what it was designed to do.

The food filter helps keep the strong and spicy smelling food, such as onion from overpowering smells.

Our fridge sometimes made a pond on the floor. It was not constant, and I saw on some days, but not on the other days. I found that the water dripped from the water filter housing unit, but did not know where exactly it came from. I thought our old filter (several years old at least) might have an issue with the connection between the filter and the housing. So I decided to try replacing the filter, before starting a big repair. It was very easy to replace the filter. Since then, I never saw any water drip. If you see a pond on the floor, and see the drip from the filter housing, you may want to replace your filter.

This continues to be a great product, and I applaud the Home Depot for having the product in stock. This is great for customers and is what keep repeat customers coming back!

I like the option of purchasing two units at a discounted cost for these regularly replace filters.
