I bought my first one about 5 years ago and it still works great. I wanted a new upright for the kitchen so I bought a new one. Still happy with both units. The only thing I like better in the flat one is when I seal produce bags. I found it a challage sometimes hitting the sensor in the upright.

In the beginnig this product worked perfectly. I have use it for the past 4 weekends. Last weekend it began to suck out only about half of the air from the bags, sometimes it would not perform the vaccum process at all. I had to continually shut off the device and restart the process several times to complete the sealing of the bags. While doing this the sealing process would begin and I had to start over with new bags. This is not very cost effective.

Great product...easy to use. Realize I need to order some liquid block bags.

Love the hands free operation. Works with any size bag or roll.

I buy meats usually in bulk and separate them down into smaller sizes and I would end up wasting money with just regular zip loc bags, my mother in law told me about food saver and just bragged on and on about hers. I purchased this one and it was a 100% waste of my money. It over heats consatantly making it where you have to constantly turn it off and let it rest for 10 to 20 minutes depending on how long you have been using it. It does not vacuum out all of the airand it will not seal anything moist like meat just purchased or vergetables. I have wasted more money now because these bags/rolls are more expensive then zip loc and i have still had to throw out food that has freezer burned. Save yourself lots of aggravation and money and leave this one at the store.

I don't know why I waited so long to purchase the foodsaver 3835! We buy meat in bulk and the foodsaver has been great when it comes to freezing alot of our food. I use to wrap all my meat in foil, then seal it in a zip lock bag, then write what was inside before freezing. What a waste! This model is very easy to operate, too!

I looked at other vaccum sealers and this seemed to provide the most flexibility and value. Though I am just getting started, I am pleased with this item and intend to get exstensive use out of it.

Hardest part is teaching my wife how touse it. We wish it was not so loud.

This sealer has not worked properly since we purchased it. After we seal one bag it will not seal another until it cools down is a real process to seal things when we have a lot to do. Would not purchase this same sealer V3835 ever again.

This unit is a replacement for our older professional grade unit which we had for about 6 years, using it almost daily. Before Foodsaver, I regularly threw away a lot of food from the freezer. After Foodsaver: virtually none! When it finally died, I had trouble going a week without it. This one looks great on my counter, and, although I have had it only a few weeks, I am very happy. Time will tell whether it stands up to my constant use. And, I do disagree with some other reviews that state there is about 2" of waste when sealing; my husband measured 1 1/4".....

Best food saver I've owned. Wore one out bought another then a friend bought me one for Christmas and did not like that one. Had trouble with it and you replaced it but then it just stopped vacuuming

We've used a food saver for many years. We just purchased a new model and were excited about how it looks on our counter as it matches the rest of our kitchen appliances. It functions perfectly however, the new model requires approviamtely 1" of bag every time you seal it. We use the bags to freeze as well as keeping products fresh in referigerator. We constantly open and reseal bags as needed (much better than zip lock bags). Unfortunately, the new model precludes the reuse of bags as you lose too much of the bag when resealing. Sorry to say, we are returning the unit we just purchased.

I have been buying Foodsaver products since they first came out. I have always had good luck, until now. The last one I purchased was a V3825 at Costco. This will be my last one. It is difficult to use, does not completly remove all of the air, and has no vaccum over ride to finish removing all of the air remaining. Hard to get the bag sensor to sense. Will not purchase another. Will definetly go with another brand.

I would recommend it to anyone, easy to use and keeps foods fresh for a long time without freezer burn.

I ordered model V3485, this is next version up. Regardless this is the best thing ever and will save me tons of money in the long run. Great buy!

Once accustomed to using the FoodSaver, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it! It enables me to buy expensive items (such as premium meats) when on sale and freeze them without any concerns that they will be other than perfectly fresh when I defrost and use them. Fresh vegetables remain "fresh" and cheeses, etc., may be refrigerated after opening and kept for some time before reusing them and enjoying their flavor as if just bought and opened. A truly remarkable device!!! Thank you FoodSaver!!!! I have bought several for friends and family.

I've sealed about 5 lbs of meat so far in the bags provided and it's worked GREAT! Hopefully it continues that. I'll keep you informed. Mo

You will not go wrong if you buy this unit. It is a joy to use. My wife and I highly recommend FoodSaver products to extend the life of a variety of foods.

My food saver is fantastic! It sits out for continual use. I resently realised I was not using it to it's full potencial just vac packing my bulk meets, so I purchased the marinader and jar sealer. Now my dry goods will stay fresh and easitly accesable. I look forward to getting the containers next.

I had a much older version of a vacumn sealer system from Food Saver. What a delight this model is to use. No standing there holding the lid down to get a seal on the vacumn process or sealing the bag and this one stands up with a retractable hose for the containers you sell. I will start using them again. It was such a hassel to pull the old model out every time I wanted to seal a container. I almost threw them all away. So glad I kept them as this model makes it easy and is so nice looking on my counter. Thanks.

this sealer is so easy to use and takes up almost no room on my counter. I've had it about two weeks now and it out performs all the other sealers I've had in the past. I would definitely recomend this to any one.

I actually received this unit 2 years ago for Christmas, and it has really served me well! I never got around to writing a review on it before, but after the wonderful experience I had with the customer service from this company I had to write one. After having this unit for almost 2 years my accessory hose broke. I contacted the customer service about possibly purchasing a replacement hose for the unit. After informing me that it was not possible to replace the accessory hose, the customer services rep offered to help me send the unit in to be repaired or replaced. Even though my warranty was up they replaced my unit with a brand new unit, and the only cost to me was the shipping to ship my broken unit back! I was amazed at how fast the turn around time was for everything. All of my emails were replied to within 24 hours, they were all very friendly. I had a brand new unit delivered to me in less then 2 weeks after I sent mine back, during the Christmas season. You've got a customer for life here! I can't wait to get the mason jar sealing attachments now that I have a working accessory hose again!

Having a canning and storage background I can't help but wonder where I missed this product. It saves money and food quality for those who shop bargains and wish to hold on to that value. Sealing foods for daily use; long term storage; or shipping is a breeze with this product! Well worth the money.

Food saver really saves you money. Can buy quantity and food is always fresh and frost free. Recommend strongly.

This is such an improvement over the previous products. It is easy to use and performs very well.

My husband and I are empty nesters but haven't downsized yet on the grocery bill plus we don't want to walk away from bulk deals. So, I still buy as if 4 were living in my home and divide/seal with my Foodsaver. It has worked great for 2 years now. Also, my husband is a hunter - when he brings home the game from the butcher, I rewrap using my Foodsaver - the meat lasts much longer with no freezer burn!

I have had a FoodSaver system for ten years. I live alone so I was losing so much money on food going bad. I've been hoping my system would break so I could update it, but it is still going strong! I think I will pass it down to my daughter because I am dying to get the new hands free system. It is worth every penny! It pays for itself in the food you save on. Buy one, you won't regret it, I promise

Just started using this machine. It is the greatest. Very easy to use and all of the controls are easy to understand. It does a wonderful job of preparing foods for the freezer. It is so fun to use that you may have to get more bags right away.
