What a greatkitchen tool!
I bought this foodsaver about a year ago. I am going to buy accessories to marinate and also containers. Love it so much that I'm planning on buying another for my son.

ugh!
Have had this one for over a year.its seals fine the first time and the second time won't suck out the air then seals it.have tried everything.will be donating it and not buying another.just a big waste of money.

If the vacuum sealer is not vacuuming all of the air out of the bag, we recommend wiping down the rubber gaskets around the vacuum channel with a damp cloth and allowing them to dry before vacuuming and sealing again. Don't know what we did before we had this product!
We purchased this FoodSaver several years ago and have purchased several more since for Christmas and Birthdays for our children. They love them! The kids are all hunters and have already forgotten what freezer paper was.

Product is hard to use and performs poorly
I have owned the Food Saver V3835 for 1 year now. I bought the vacuum sealer on a friends recommendation, since I only need a vacuum sealer to perform minor tasks every so often. I have used the vacuum sealer approximately 8 times. Form day one the product has performed poorly and was very had to get the bags to vacuum seal (I only used Food Saver bags). Of recent the product stopped vacuuming all the air out and then ceased to seal the bags at the end of the vacuuming process. I would not recommend this product due to its poor performance overall.

High Value; Does everything promised
This product is exactly as promised. Easy to use (fun, actually), compact, nice appearance, many uses, and quick clean up if needed. I showed it to a friend of mine and she was so impressed she ordered her own a week later.

Wastes 3/4" bag, every single use. Adds up cost!
Too bad! Don't waste your money on a "kitchen model" as "Foodsaver Support" calls them. This series will cost you lots more in bags, than its cool look is worth. It will also cost you lots in waiting time. They tell me mine is designed this way.
Instead, spend $20.00 or so more, for one of the "Professional Series" models. The "kitchen series" burns up the bag sealing surface, after two or three consecutive bag seals. Note the number of "consecutive seals" that the model you purchase is rated for. 25 is minimal!

Great product
We've had this vacuum sealer for over 2 years now and it saved us tons of money by letting us to store leftovers, etc. when we cannot eat it all in short periods. We are a small family of two, so it allows us to go to the store less often and buy more at a time since we can keep our produce fresh longer.

Love this product
Have had this product 3 or 4 years, and I have not found anything bad about it yet. Would recommend it to ANYONE! This sealer even has a button in case you are sealing moist or dry food, wonderfully thought out. You can use a number of different types of containers with it, it is very versiital. If and when it breaks I will replace it with another just like it.
This manufacturer has several items on the market that are made as well and are as helpfull to busy families.

very good seal
we enjoy the foodsaver was disappointed in the add that i ordered from there was suppose to be a free extra part which we did not get. we are still trying to decide what size rolls and bags to use its a learning process . my daughter wanted this model because it didn' crush chips and muffins.

This is a fantastic addition to my kitchen. I do a lot of cooking ahead of to time and would end up tossing some because of freezer taste but not any more. If fact I have had to toss nothing from either the refrigerator or freezer. I can keep mushrooms for up to a month. Cheese keeps as fresh as when I purchased it. I have even vacuum sealed whole chickens and large roasts and the marinade feather is a must in any kitchen. Overall this is a great sealer and a great investment.

Easy to use
There are times when it doesn't take all the air out but I think we need to hold the package up a little as it is vacuuming. Love the cutter - nice addition! Our last one worked for probably more than 10 years, so I look forward to this one working as long!

Good product, minor complaints
Easy to use. But overheats when doing a lot of packaging. We buy meat once a month so when braking down and packaging a bulk buy you have to let the machine cool off. No other problems.

Very Pleased!
Why did we wait and waste all that food and money? Should have gotten this years ago! We like to buy in bulk and cook enough for lots of left overs. I tried using the regular zipper bags with very limited success. After reading all of the user reviews, especially focusing on the "negatives", we bought the V3835. We've used it 10 times and it's VERY easy to use! Yes, there's what seems like waste in sealing. However, the store bought sealed packages have about the same amount of "waste", so, to me, that's acceptable. I figure our savings buying in bulk and buying on-sale items, coupled with no lost food due to freezer burn, will more than off-set the cost of the bags due to the "waste".
Bottom line: if you're shopping for a vacuum sealer, I highly recommend the FoodSaver brand AND the V3835.

works great for me!
I just finished processing 35 pounds of venison burger. The machine worked great. I was a little nervous about "operator error" but it went really well. I did notice that I had to let the machine cool off every so often. I think I may have overdone it with my new kitchen toy. I'm thinking of getting this for my brother-in-law and his wife. What a cool machine!

V3835 review
I have owned other Foodsaver sealers and this one is the best one yet. It is easy to use when you have the accessory attachments. Cleaning is must easier than others in the past.

Product has great features
This is a great product. I did not give it an excellent rating because I also seal my open potato chip bags and other such bags and they are very hard to get in the sealer. This unit is very sleek and pretty as well as very efficient. The unit is quiet and takes a minimal time to seal. It is great for sealing vegetables and meats that have fluids in them. It is also very easy to clean the unit.

This product has great features
I bought my first FoodSaver machine abt 8 yrs ago and declared to my husband that unless I have a Foodsaver in operation, I would not bother to put up garden food for our freezer. I just rec'd my new one, the V3835 and love it. The machine itself senses when to vacuum and when to shut off, very easy operation. It's wonderful , also, to have the roll stored in the machine with a handy cutter. I have not used the hose for containers yet , trust it will serve the purpose . Love/Hate relationship.
Loved it at first, bought almost every attachment and bag size. So many issues have come up: moisture light that stays on (my error, I admit), zipper adapter issues, now, after cleaning the food tray can't get it open to replace. I was going to purchase a unit for all three kids, but now, with so many problems, having second thoughts. Customer service seems to have the solutions (guess they get a lot of practice).

3800 series review
other than the machine leaving an inch of bag past the seal, and lack of really complete instructions when it came to things like meat that can trap air pockets at the bottom of the bag if packed too tightly, this machine is a ton better than my other ones have been, automatic operation is a breeze, the accessory setting for mason jars works so much better than the old machine - even with the old jar sealing accessory on the new machine.
I am looking forward to using this to save me a lot of money buying meats and cheeses wholesale.
Can't wait to try the marinate cycle too.
