A sturdy metal framed workbench. It was easy to assemble and made of solid materials. I added to it's strength by using 4 bolts at each top joint vs the 2 bolts supplied in the kit. I think the bench would be strong enough for most people as is, but I always like to beef things up as much as possible. I also added some 1/8 inch Masonite sheets (finished white on one side) to make a smoother work surface. I purchased 2 of these workbenches so I can have one long work surface or a square working area, depending on the project. I also installed electrical outlets on bother sides of each table. I had to grind out the openings a little, as the standard wall outlets I got at Home Depot were slightly too large. They work well, though.

The product is not like the image. It is very very uneven in color ranging from dark black streaks or stains to white areas. Also there were some large dents in the edges. I was planning on using this in my garage, but it was not even clean enough for that. I noted that even though this is noted as an Edsal top it really was made by John Boos. I really wanted this one to work out but I ended up not accepting it upon pick up. I included a photo of what you get.

I had seen a lot of mixed reviews o the Edsal butcher blocks in terms of quality. The one I got is great! Looks great and vert sturdy. Came in less time than expected. All it needed was a light sanding and some stain.

I ordered this for a beverage station I created in my kitchen. I followed the advice of some other reviewers and opened the box at HD before leaving. It had a small ding but otherwise unharmed. I put some mineral oil on it, let it soak in and put it on. Love it! I will say that it is heavy and awkward to handle if trying to do so by yourself.

I returned these legs and ordered Store SKU #1000927783. As you can see in the pictures , they worked great. I built the workbench for my daughter. It is better than the one I have in my shop. Mine doesn't have the knockouts for the power outlets.

We bought 2 of these for the laundry room, one for a utility sink and one for the other side to go over the washing machine and dryer. They are really beautiful and well made, came well packaged. Used cherry stain and sealed w/ Waterlox and they turned out great.

I'm quite happy with these. I used them to convert an old heavy desk top to a work table, for use in assembling and operating a new 3D printer. Plenty of holes are provided for securing a top and shelves with 5/16" fasteners. I simply bolted a 2x6 to the lower cross-pieces rather than buying a metal shelf, and this was sufficient to make the table rock solid. Holes at the bottom of the legs provide for adjustable leveling feet. Knockouts for installing electrical outlets are a nice touch, though I didn't use them because the table is likely to be moved.

It is a solid product. Only problem I had was that it was missing overt half dozen machine screws. I did not have time to return the product because I needed the table/bench so I had to purchase the screws, you guessed it "Home Depot".

Quality and finish are sub par. Homeowner grade.
Saved some time instead of building a frame from 2×2 steel. Was able to assemble and weld on casters since bolted. Came bent and welded upside down(which went unnoticed until nearly assembled). Be prepared to bend back in shape and modify with a drill and grinder to make it work. Still 2 stars since its cheap and looks decent enough for novice homeowner. Do not recommend for a commercial strength bench.

We bought this to be the countertop on our kitchen island counter. The first time they shipped the wrong product, some laminated thing, to us in the right box. We sent it back and it took a couple weeks to get the right butcher block. In shipping they don't pad it very well and there were minor scratches on the surface from gravel or something getting in between the boxes. If you want to spend time sanding them out - go ahead. We opted to use mineral oil instead of stain to bring out the wood grain. You can find butcher block mineral oil the paint department of Home Depot. We cut a sink out and it looks really cool and honestly some of the scratches give it an old world character. We got it at a sale price so it was hundreds of dollars cheaper than a granite top. We're very happy!

Absolutely awful. Do not waste your time. I read other reviews that discussed damage too but I decided to take my chances. Wish I didn't because I wasted 2+ months and 3 separate deliveries of this product to end up with something that is STILL damaged. For some reason they simply cannot make and ship this product and keep it intact. If you're using it for a garage or something, it's fine. For the kitchen, don't even bother. Seriously. It's unfortunate because it is so beautiful, but 3 separate times it arrived with MAJOR damage. I'm talking DEEP GAUGES, strap marks, completely destroyed edges. I don't know if it's the vendor or the shipper, but this should be taken off the market until they can figure it out. I was without a kitchen island countertop for over two months because we kept going back and forth correcting orders. AWFUL.

The product itself is nice. It is a very solid and sturdy top. I am actually using for a kitchen island top. One side is nicer than the other, less knots and color variation. It does have more color variation than more expensive tops, like a Boos top. I actually like the more interesting grain of the #2 wood in this for a top though. The only issue with this is that homedepot, and those who handle it getting it to the store when you order it can't get it there with out putting a few dings and dents in it. I had to sand mine a bit to make it look a better in a few spots. One or two of the dings were deeper than I was going to sand, but are only noticeable if you're looking for defects after sanding. I was planning to sand it and put my own mineral oil and was on it that I know is food safe, since I'm not sure about the oil and wax that comes on it. So, sanding it a little more wasn't a big deal. At least not to me. Great solid top for the money, expect a few dings to clean up.

Ordered this Butcher Block Workbench from Home Depot after a lengthy search. We used it for a counter top in our laundry room remodel. It had the best grains and colors for our liking. Got it ahead of schedule was a great price and perfect size for our need. Sanded, varnished and installed, finished remodel in a weekend. I would recommend this product from Home Depot to anyone.

Met expectations. Very easy to assemble. The legs are strong and were an essential component for a table to hold my new CNC Router. The table top and shelf are made from MDF also purchased from Home Depot. The table sets on a mobile base to provide portability. I have had it for about a month and the legs were ideal for the table I built.

Butcher block top came in Great shape, lightly sand and then coat with tung oil and citrus solvent to soak in and cure. I used the "Real Milk Paint company 1/2 & !/2 and also the pure Tung oil. When it dries it is waterproof and seals the countertop as I am using this in the kitchen. Looks great.

            Nice craft desk top
Came as advertised and shipped to store in just 3 days (way faster than the 2 week estimate). I made sure to open it at the store, as some people have had issues with serious damage, but mine looked great other than a ding along the side. Ding isn't very visible, and we figure it adds character. Makes a lovely craft desk top.

Perfect solution for custom work bench
As a 54 year old female who is only 5'2", I couldn't find a work bench short enough and the adjustable ones were over $400. This was the perfect solution! I could make it as wide as I wanted and adjust the height. I put a 4'x4' 1/2 board on it and even added a shelf to the lower portion. It needed a support board on the back, then I attached 2'x4's to the bottom so it slides easily. Very sturdy, great quality! I highly recommend!

            Great Butcher Block for Kitchen
This was one of four pieces of Edsal butcher block we ordered in various sizes for a complete counter redo. It's wonderful and the kitchen looks amazing now. Spill something? Wipe it up. A possible stain? Sand lightly and oil again. I wanted to be sure the entire place was food safe so we used pure black walnut oil, but there are less expensive options.

            Not worth the money
The workbench top had many holes that I needed to fill because the boards were not well put together. I ordered this via the countertop people at Home Depot and they said it would work nicely as an island peice but it really was not ready to be used in this way but it was too costly to return so we now just put a table cloth over it so we could have went with something much cheaper.

Work bench legs - used for Big Green Egg BBQ
I used these legs for my Big Green Egg table. They are gray and I painted them with dark green Rustoleum from Home Depot and they match the Big Green Egg perfectly. I recommend these legs for other projects also other than just work benches. They are easy to work with and sturdy. They are special order so expect to wait 2 weeks.

            Awesome DIY workbench legs
They came in a box and were easy to assemble and use. I used 3/4 inch interior plywood for the top. I cut it 30 inch deep and used the remaining 18 inch piece for the back of the legs and used a 1/2 inch piece of plywood for the lower shelf (foot rest height) . I added a 4 inch solid concrete block to the lower shelf under it to provide rigidity and give the ability to put heavy objects on it and not bow. Works great I covered the top with exterior grey rug material and used a 4 inch board for the back of the top to form a backstop all covered with the rug material. Looks great!

Bench Legs Make Great Tool Stand
The legs were sturdy and solid, which is what I needed to support my large, old, and very heavy drill press and my sander. I used the legs perpendicular to how they are normally used and made a small bench with sliding drawers underneath to hold drill press tooling, files, and wood lathe tools to help fit in my garage shop. The whole bench is on wheels so I can clean under it and move if I get water in the garage from my truck. I only had to drill one additional whole in each leg for the wheels. All the other holes worked for my design. I used one of the four knockouts for electrical but there were three more than I needed.

            Solid quality
I needed a solid workbench area in my garage and found this butcher block workbench top to be more than ideal. With only a few minor alterations, I was able to integrate the workbench in between some of the husky commercial modular shelving units and come up with a rock solid workplace that looks great. I finished off the work area with a diamond plate shop light and power bar. I don't think anything less than a butcher block would've fit the bill.

Worth it for the money and a small enhancement
Purchased this for the garage. The frame is a bit flimsy in that it rocks side to side once assembled. I added two cable cross pieces to stabilize the bench (see picture) and it made it much more stable and now totally functional. The top to the bench is quite thick and a good work surface. The product was not damaged on arrival and was easy to assemble.

Product is perfect for the job
I purchased the 48 IN. W X 24 IN. D workbench which has double electrical knockouts. I am using the bench in my basement workshop. it is very sturdy and is the perfect size. I plan on purchasing other accompanying segments such as drawer systems and shelves. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who need a high quality, fairly priced workbench.

This is a true example of "You get what you pay for." I opened the package and assembled the workbench, not without difficulty. 1. At least 4 to 6 holes where the top stringer connects to the leg assembly had to be drilled out because the welding was off and the holes in the welded sections were misaligned. 2. There were 8 machine screws missing. 3. The flake board (particle board) work surface came through with crumbling corners, and there was a lot of particle board dust in the packaging. 4. The holes on the top cross-members should line up so you can drill the woods screws in through them. 5. Per above...poorly engineered product. If you're not a professional, and don't need a super terrific workbench, then this is the one for you. If you intend to do heavy duty work, I'd suggest you invest in a heavy duty workbench, preferably from another manufacturer.
