I had to modify the jig for it to work on my drill press. My drill press does not have a wide collar to clamp onto just 1/2 in collar. I tried all of the spacers but could not clamp down enough to hold it tight. I tapped holes for screws so I could use the jig. Once I got it center it worked great for me. It comes in a very nice case.

After a lengthy set up on my Delta Bench Drill Press, I realized that the widest style i could mortice was 2' which just mdae it for the first set of 4 shutters I built. Will need to get a bigger press. lol

Easy to set up and does very accurate and clean cutouts.

I had a Delta mortising attachment for 30 years before it was destroyed in a flood. The quill on my Craftsman drill press measures 65mm. None of the provided split rings fit. The installation instructions that accompany the product are trash in three languages. The internet and YouTube are helpful in the absence of instructions, but if it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t fit. This is not “universal” fit tool. Returned it.

Definitely met my needs in efficiency, accuracy, and ease of use.

It did what I needed to do. At first I was not to sure but after getting it set up it was very easy to use.

Everything worked great, except for the backstop on a seers craftsman drill press how do use clamps instead of the clamps that were sent was it other than that it was very very good

Even though my drill press model is listed as one this kit is designed to fit, it didn’t and I was really disappointed! Needless to say I returned it.

Looked for this kit for a long time.. Good quality and it works good.

Took a while to assemble. Needed to add a shim to get the assembly to tightly attach to the quill. But after all was done, the unit worked perfectly. I would recommend it as a low cost mortising tool for those that do not require a dedicated tool. -BD

The fence didn’t work well for me so I used my Rockler table and fence which worked great. The mortise attachment works well.

Worked well on the initial project I used it on. I was making some mortises in cherry and they came out good.

The attachment that holds the chisel to the drill head and the bits work great and did everything I needed. The fence...... not so much. To begin with, the hold-downs limit the width of the wood to very narrow pieces, and it took some adjustment to square it. I ended up putting it on the shelf and making my own fence unit.

I received this attachment and went straight to my shop to check it out. I bought it mainly because it was a Delta and I wanted to couple it to my Delta 17-959L 17" drill press. What a disappointment when I found that without modifications the tool would not attach to my drill press in any way. First the chisel holder attachment would not tighten enough to hold it in place. I had to file both the inserted collar and the attachment it self to allow the tightening bolt to tighten enough to hold the chisel holder in place. All of the supplemental collars where to small. Not a huge problem but time consuming. Next the "T" nuts supplied to slip into the "T" slots on my drill press table are to large. It would not matter anyway since the slots on my table where to wide to allow attaching the fence to the table. The cross slots on the table could have worked but they do not allow the fence to move close enough to the chisel or for the hold down to hold anything down. A simple addition of two new "T" slots in my woodworking drill press table will fix this issue. I did cut some square holes and the attachment will do the trick for what I bought it for so I am happy with the tool but I could not give it more then 3 stars.

This attachment works reasonably well, but don't expect to use the chisels that come with it, as they are very poorly made. Buy separate chisels and hone them before use and this will do a good job.

The setup works pretty well. My main mortises for the first project were in 4” lumber, so the side clamps don’t hold down, but there was enough weight to keep it down. The bits were pretty dull, but it seemed to deburr as I went and the later passes were cleaner than the first.

Hard to install. Collars are oval shaped should be more rounded. Had to make a shim to get it installed.

When I purchase a low cost tool that I will only use occasionally I adjust my expectations on how the tool may perform. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the Delta mortising tool works. I did need to add a fence behind the work piece to clamp on both ends when mortising near the end.

solidly built rugged , very nice tool. ( unfortunately my style drill press did not allow the many sizes your tool offered for the quill, but I managed to use some copper sheeting as a spacer, apart from that, its the best morticing attachment I have ever used !

Had a very difficult time fitting the bracket on my Porter Cable tabletop drillpress. Then the chuck barley made contact enough the grasp the drillbit. Ended up returning it. Would not recommend to anyone. Saved my money and purchased a dedicated mortiser.

the bits were very dull and I was even going thru a soft wood. It was very hard to align the fence

This product constructed strong. However the machine wasnt matched to the product. Modification will have to be made for the mortise jig to fit and work as its designed for.

A good solid, stable tool.

The chisel holder is 5/8 inch and therefore will only hold the chisels that came with the jig. I returned it and bought one with a standard 3/4 in shank so I could replace the chisels later if needed
