The hand guard works great I tested it a few times when taking apart the wall. My hand is fine even though I missed with my 5 pounder.

Took one swing on it and it split the whole scoring end up the middle…returned it and decided not to get a new one

Works very well for its intended purpose

I have now broken 6 bricks. This only works for perfectly straight cuts. If you need to angle the cut, this tool does not work.

Bought this to brick down the last bit of chimney. Hit with a mini sledge, and surprisingly, it was not that effective. I thought the blade would help separate the bricks, but it struggled to take pieces off, even at different angles. It was as efficient as hitting it straight with the hammer. This was not an effective tool for this type of job.

It’s fine. I used it to remove floor tile off of concrete. Made of hardened steel, it held its edge well. The grip flange deflected the hammer blows to protect my hand. Good idea.
