Just right for renewing the cutting edge of a small wood chisel. Easy to sharpen kitchen knives provided one follows the blade edge contour and the edge angle. The diamond coated surface cuts fast with light pressure and produces a precisely linear edge (necessary on a chisel).

This should be a requirement for any home! Scissors, knives, anything where a sharp edge is required.

Thought it would do a little better job of sharpening

I had a hard time finding it, but I had an old blade that I needed to sharpen, and wanted to sind a sharpening stone & found the sharpener. It was more expensive than I wanted, but it worked great! Nice product.

I purchased a couple of different sharpening tools on the same day. This is the one I kept. It was easy to use, the handle folds over the sharpener to protect it. The only thing I had difficulty with was the red and blue side difference. I figured one was for putting on a finer edge, but the packaging did not say which order to use them in. Both sides worked well, but I had to research to find what sequence was the preferred one.

The sharpener worked well on several knives along with several pairs of scissors.

Fine and coarse double sided hone, makes it quick to put a working edge on a blade. The more you use it the finer the hone will become. Keep this in my work bag for putting a quick edge on my knife. Have found myself being the go to guy to get your knife sharpened. This was bought to replace the double sided Smith hone that the handle broke off of. Just starting to break this hone in. Doesn't put as fine an edge on as the old Smith, but adequate for opening a box. It will break in after a few months and several hundred knives.

Handle is not strong.

Found this able to sharpen and keep chisels sharp! I own a few diamond sharpening products and this one makes clean short work.
