CAVEAT EMPTOR! This product claims to be "Contact Cement". The original formula Contact cement actually works but this stuff does not. It does not stick to itself or anything else. Save your money and your angst. The only virtue is that it has little odor, but what use is that if it won't work at all? Please read the reviews before you waste your money.

the stuff is crap but it doesn't give off fumes like the solvent-based contact cement. so in a classroom situation without masks and proper ventilation there is no way I could use the solvent base contact cement. So this is better than nothing

I used the glue for sealing the foam body of a monster costume. It did the job very well and only needs one well applied coat. I was very happy with its performance and will be using it in the future.

Pros: No smell, non flammable, and less expensive than regular contact cement Cons: Longer drying time and not as strong a bond as regular contact cement (had to press parts together with greater force to ensure good contact.

This contact cement was easy to use and easy to apply. We let it set and get tacky and it glued fast. We used the rubber roller to fasten it down and it stayed down. It worked great for us.

Use it like the instructions say and it will stick forever. Once you stick two surfaces together that's it...no time for adjustment. no slipping into place no nothing...it's there forever. A one or two second time for adjustment would get the extra star.

Bought this product to glue down a cork floor. I tried a couple of times but it just would not stick. Apparently, either this product is not suitable for that application or I was not doing it right.

This stuff is the worst. Waited the 70 minute dry time, not sticky. 2 hours later, it's still not sticky and did not grip at all. Totally pointless and impossible to work with.

I had used this water based contact adhesive for years in adhering laminates to plywood and press board for the manufacturing of custom counter tops and furniture. I would use this before I would the solvent type. Only time I had it not adhere was due to excessive dust or excessive time elapsed before trying to adhere parts.

I've used Weldwood contact cement for many years for laminates, upholstery and several other applications. It was always the best. I had a small upholstery project recently and could not find the good cement. I had to settle for the water based stuff. It appears that the state of California has outlawed the good solvent based contact cement and Dap has replaced it with this useless goop. It has absolutely no adhesion. It is worthless.

Great product! Very low odor, very quick and thorough adhesion. I don't know why the stores don't carry this non-flammable product while they continue to carry the contact cement in the red can. This stuff is worth the extra cost and wait for delivery to the store. Easy clean-up, too.

            Good product
This is a good non toxic water base glue that is easily spread with foam brush or foam roller. I use it on leather when I'm sticking parts together prior to stitching. It does not work to good on oily or wet leather but is a great improvement over the cancer and respiratory problem causing old type glues. I just wish I could buy it at our local store. All they carry is the old stinky red label adhesive.

              Works as directed
Despite the negative reviews on the internet, this non-flammable contact adhesive works great. If you follow the directions closely and make sure the temperature and conditions are right, it works very well. I used this adhesive to attach hardwood skin panels to my kitchen cabinets with success. There is an additional cure time but I did not face any issues with initial bonding. I was very relieved to find a non-flammable solution for the kitchen.

Received this product shipped today. After liquid nails disaster with Aquatile panels ordered this product. followed instructions on the gallon can , 60 minutes wait time seemed excessive but the panel went on easy as pie so glad i purchased this product. I will never try FRP liquid nails as suggested on the panels as that willnot hold 4x8 panels to drywall. Thanks Weldwood for a great product no smell water base and easy to use.

Worked well for me. Followed directions to stir thoroughly, made sure product and all parts were above the min. temperature; waited 30 minutes and both the plywood and cork bonded perfectly. This project involved bonding 35 square feet of plywood and cork for an in-home bulletin board.

Not as tacky enough for this job.
I tried this glue it was not as tacky enough for the job, now I'm stuck with a 95% of the can. So I went back to Home Depot to buy pannel Glue that work perfectly. I'm sure dap glue works well with other projects but not hanging these three D pannel not at all.

Works great, just never in stock anywhere
I prefer this to the solvent-based cement but you can never find it on the shelf. It is so much nicer to work without the fumes of the solvent=based cement. I have used it a number of times in the past but over the past 6 months I have looked for it at 2 hardware stores, 2 big box stores, my 2 local lumber yards a couple of times at each place and no one has it in stock. I have asked Home Depot to get some in and every time I am there (which is at least once a week) I look for it and never in stock.

                  Manufacturer should read this review
I don't know why, but there is a trick to making this product work that has eluded the manufacturers instructions. That trick is to use a hair dryer (about 1.8 kW) and heating up the two glued surfaces just prior to final contact with each other. I don't understand the science behind this, but it works. At ambient air temperatures from 60-75 degrees F the two surfaces to be bonded will not stick at all when placed together (there are many reviews on many forums/websites attesting to this experience). My project was to bond a Tolex vinyl covering to a wooden speaker cabinet enclosure. The solvents in the regular contact cement (red can) has been reported to cause damage to Tolex material in the long term as well as the high VOC content requiring a superior ventilation system. Because of these two factors, the non-flammable (green can) product was chosen. The only drawbacks are that the products is a special order (not stocked in stores) as well requires a minimum purchase of two quart cans (which is about the price of three quart cans of the red can contact cement). First attempts were unsuccessful, which led to reviewing the manufacturers directions and forums/websites for suggestions. Only one other review was favorable... and that person was also using this product for the same type project (i.e. Tolex on speaker cabinet enclosure). Success was achieved when using the product at a very high working temperature (85 degrees F). Not being able to bring the working environment to that high a temperature, I utilized a hair dryer to elevate the temperature of the of the glue on the surfaces to be bonded together with fantastic adhering results! I was a bit tedious... only 8-12 inches can be worked at a time. Results were a very strong bond, no VOC fumes to contend with, and easy clean-up.

Great product for what it is intended.
I had lowered expectations since this was the eco-friendly version of the powerful smelling solvent based type. I used both types back to back when I ran out of the solvent based (same brand, red label). Usually the worse it smells and the more toxic, the better it works. However, after using it according to the directions, which only differ because it requires you to wait 30 minutes instead of 15, I was amazed at the results. First, it applies much smoother because it is thinner. It looks milky white until it dries. I used two coats because I was worried. Remember, with contact cement you are NOT suppose to feel any adhesion when you touch the surface. It is suppose to be completely dry but not longer than 2 or 3 hours after application. It only bonds when the two coated surfaces come together. I used it on Formica counters and as soon as it touched I could barely reposition the workpiece, even with only the corner in contact. I couldn't believed it stuck so well, applied even easier, and barely smelled at all. I have a feeling people who are claiming it doesn't work aren't using it correctly or on the wrong surfaces. By the way, I didn't clean off the old contact cement from the original laminate top and it worked fine..
