They rip off the paint right down to the primer when you remove them. Total garbage I wish I had never heard of these things, what a fiasco!!!

I bought the utility hooks to hang 5 Christmas stockings for my cats. I hung the straps and hooks last year with no issue. This year I bought a package of replacement strips and upon trying to remove them, it ripped a big chunk out of my paint all the way to the wall board and the second one bubbled the paint up ( I pressed it back into wall with my finger). I'm now, afraid to remove the other 3 as I really don't have the resources to fix this wall. I don't even know what color paint it is. Now what???

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use these 17004 (rated for 7.5 lbs) hooks a lot. I use them hidden in closets to hang bags, ironing boards, cords. If they're visible, I paint them so they don't look so utilitarian. I have several of these hooks painted classic bronze to match the ORB hardware in my bathroom. I have a couple that are painted chrome to match the 7"-blade chrome fan that's hanging on them. The classic bronze-painted hooks are on my bathroom travertine walls. They serve as towel hooks. The adhesive hasn't failed yet (going on 6 years now). What usually fails is the plastic itself - i.e., the "hook" part breaks off after a few years. That's probably from people tugging down their towels. The hooks can hold 7.5 lbs but not when people keep tugging down on their towels. I have one hook (actually, the wall back part only, not the outside hook part) holding up a 21" x 21" wall frame that's ~5 lbs. The frame has a horizontal length of braided wire at the back that you're supposed to hang on a nail/hook. I didn't want to drill a hole in my travertine tiles so I just used the wall/back part of this 17004 hook to hang the frame.

These like the rest of the Command Brand product line (i.e., Strips, Hooks, et cetera) are amazing. They go on easy, and come off just as easy. No more having to put holes in walls and more. The only thing I have to warn people of is be careful when you remove the strip. I am already sold for life on Command's products, but they could improve the strips strength, durability and overall usability, et all. I say this, because if a strip has been sitting on a wall for too long, it begins to weaken. If you are not careful the strip can rip making it near impossible to remove. Without damaging the walls paint. Further, if you remove it too quick, or you do not pull the strip completely out before pulling strip off wall, depending on your paint, you can peel the paint off in chunks... which is NOT a pretty sight. I usually had to speckle and paint just to even out the difference. However, Even with these one hiccup in their product design, I highly recommend these products. They make life easier, allow for quick changes of decor around the home or office. Personally I have used them for many different ways..... I have used them for the obvious like hanging windows decor (clear bathroom strips ;) ) and pictures, frames, decor (i.e. CHRISTMAS BABY OY YEAH :D ) everywhere else. I also have found out that if you can get creative with them, I have used them for cable organization/management, in my car for easy decal appliqués, To hang small curtains on a rod, towel dispenser, door frame banner holder, and the list goes on..... Brief, if your looking at these comments for purchasing validation.... DO IT! you won't regret it!

One of the items I wanted to hang was a small step stool. It was always in our way. This new product worked like magic. It holds a larger item so I don't have to worry it will fall and hit the car.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Jumbo Utility Hook as a free sample and wanted to use it to hold a larger gardening tool. I have a vinyl-like shed without shelves. I wanted to see if this could adhere to the side wall and hold the hedge clippers. It definitely has done that and is still sticking even after a week of continuous very hot temperatures. I will say that it's on the side of the shed that doesn't receive direct sunlight which might make a difference, because the small 3M wire hook I used on the side that does face the sun didn't hold and fell off when just holding a rag.

I thought if I should invest in buying these or they would complete waste but a what surprise.. they are holding it.. and holding it for more than 4 years.. simply superb.. I would keep buying Command products !!! Good JOB 3M !

I had to hang a temporary room divider curtain but I didn't want to use anything that would damage the walls. I took the large Command hooks and place them on the back side of the soffit then put a curtain rod pole on them. PERFECT! When I left two months later I took them down with no problems and no marks. What I also love is the fact that I can use them again with the additional strips that came in the package. Now to find a new use for them.

I used them anywhere I needed a small hook and was able to take them down when I left with no problem. I have learned from past experience that I needed to take my time pulling the strip to release the tape, and to hold it with the other hand while pulling so it didn't damage the wall. I believe I watched a video somewhere after the last experience I had with them when I pull away the paint. I am now a Command Strip Pro.

It's so easy to review a product that you already are using and you already love! The 3M Command Jumbo Hook holds more weight when you need it compared to the smaller hooks. For instance, my purse that can sometimes feel like I'm carrying around a small child ;) I've never had a 3M Command hook damage a wall when I removed it and the jumbo version is no different. Years ago (lots of years ago), this product would have solved so many decorating problems when I lived in homes or apartments that wouldn't allow for hanging objects or art on the wall. With a little decorative craftiness, this hook would make a great curtain rod holder too!

Living in an old house with plaster walls, I've tried most everything, and these are the only product that has worked as advertised. Removal is also easy and complete. This was a free sample, and I have since purchased more.

It doesn't appear to have pulled away from the wall, has shown no signs of cracking or breaking. I can't wait to buy more to hold my kids backpacks!

I bought some of these a few weeks ago and I WISH these had been brought to my attention sooner! They are PERFECT for helping to organize things! I'll definitely buy them as often as possible as well as recommending them to EVERYONE I know! Five stars and two thumbs up command company! !!

Not with command Jumbo hooks, I used this one in my daughters room to hang her jacket or her robe and its still going strong. Im super impressed with the quality of Command and it holds up to 7 1/2 lbs

It was totally misplaced! It's awesome for keeping heavy electrical cords out of the way. I'm one of those apartment dwellers that's owned by family so my significant other is totally against putting a nail or screw in the wall. Even if it's for his spare closet automotive garage! I would totally recommend this product. It holds the weight and has stuck to walls, wood panel doors and even his metal tool box. Definitely lives up to the product description. I have found this unit to actually work excellent on my lightweight aluminum step stool , which now hangs behind my laundry door with ease . I'll will be purchasing a few more of these for other lightweight hand tool items that need to be organized and hung up (dust pan , small brooms , etc) . Recommend .

I bought several of these hooks when my husband went into a rehab facility. There weren't any shelves by his bed so we stuck up a hook and hung a shower rack so he could keep things he used everyday at hand. It held all the weight!
