Just got my grill from home depot today and on the first use paint pealed off from damper. I have always bought the Char-Griller brand and still have a larger one I have had for years with no issues. this is truly disappointing. see picture!

Began rusting 5 days old.

Easy assembly and I love that it has cast iron cooking grates for that extra flavor. Charcoal pull out grate makes it easy to load and add more charcoal while grilling. Also Home Depot carries temperature gauges that I installed on my grill.

Perfect sized grill for my mom's senior community.

This grill could be great, but the wheels are JUNK. They look like they're about to break off (see photos). There's a couple of stub axles welded to the legs, and the wheels have a clip to retain them. The wheels are hollow molded plastic, with a hole that's too large for the axle (cut corner cost saver). There is a gap around the ash pan that's large enough to render the lower air vent useless. I called the company for assistance, and the lady said they can send replacement parts. BUT there is no remedy for the floppy wheels. Here's the problem, this thing is top heavy (about 50 lbs), Add charcoal and food, even more top heavy. This thing could go DOWN with a load of hot coals and food. What if the kids are close ?, what if it's on your new deck ?, what if you're just opening the lid and a wheel breaks off while you're having that ice cold beer ? This is a BIG safety issue. Also please notice the wheels are on the opposite side of the pull handle, this does not pull well at all, you have to kind of drag it. I tried to find a display model, now I know why it's not displayed. Now the good part, it cooks good, really good if you can keep the ash pan gap under control. I would return it, but wasn't thinking and installed a thermometer which required a hole, which voids the return policy. I have searched for replacement solid wheels as a fix, no luck so far. You should know CharGriller is responsible for safety issues (as an after the accident/injury plan to pay for the damages). May be Home Depot as well... Your mileage may vary, (not really, this thing is like a Corvair, all fun and smiles 'till the wheels fall off).

This is my 3rd Patio Pro 1515 and I love it. Perfect for two folks, it is my go to grill.

This grill looked great, then we used it the first time and immediately the paint rusted off. It was on the inside too so we didnt even feel safe eating it due to the paint fumes. Do not buy from this company. Its a waste of your money

Grill cooks great. The legs wobble though, and I thought maybe we needed to adjust something, but when I went to the store and saw the same model on display, the legs were wobbly on the display models also. Weird design

I purchased the Patio Pro after reading the reviews and needing a compact grill for our patio area. The grill is fairly heavy and holds heat very well. The frustrating thing about this is that it was designed by an American Company, but actually made in China. The instructions are not written very well as they do not describe which size bolts to use in the illustrations. Worse than that, ours was missing several of the nuts in bolts to begin with, so we had to make a trip to Ace Hardware and pick out additional ones. Again, made in China. After being fully assembled, the cooking grates require seasoning which is easy. I made a modification to our grill by drilling a hole into the lid and adding a thermometer. I am planning a second modification after using it several times to weld an "L" smokestack on the left vent side, and seaming in the interior to prevent heat/smoke leakage. I highly recommend the cover that is custom made for the Patio Pro. It fits exactly the way it should. Here in rainy Florida, the wind can drive rain near horizontal, and the cover stays on very well. Aside from the initial hardware issue and the fact that an American Company saw fit to outsource this product, I am satisfied with the result.

I only used this grill two times and the paint is flaking off and there's rust on the bottom and there's a very poorly welded seam on the bottom of the barrel on the left side. I went above and beyond the included instructions and seasoned the grates as well as the entire grill inside and out with vegetable oil. I contacted Char-Griller and their poor customer service has them blaming the consumer saying that I overheated the grill. Maybe they assume that I use jet fuel or molten lava to cook my steaks. I use normal charcoal like anybody else. They insulted my intelligence and after ignoring a subsequent email I called their so-called customer service and was interrupted profusely by their managers and basically called a liar and got hung up on. I called Home Depot in frustration and so far they have made it right. Please don't make the mistake that I did and be fooled by the so-called heavy-duty looking appearance of this Grill because it is not. If you check several different websites and reviews including on the Home Depot website you will see that other customers have experienced the same thing where after only using it a few times it appears very old and rusty. It's definitely a safety hazard because hot grease leaks out the bottom from the poorly welded seam and any moment now the bottom could completely fall out burning anybody using this grill so buyer beware!!!!!

Use it as a grill, and it is superb... Load your charcoal in, light it, and it makes a decent amount of heat! Or you can always throw wood inside.. that's fine too. Always look forward to using mine and we recently got one of my uncle John too! Char-master made, Joe Wood approved. Easily a home run and recommendation from me! Price isn't too shabby either: at ~$45 at Kroger, how can ya go wrong!?

This is perfect for those who are thinking about getting into smoking but don't want to spend a ton of money. If you can master this little grill you will be able to cook like a pro on something bigger. I have had 4 different kinds of meat cooking direct/non-direct heat while cooking mushrooms, potatoes and other vegetables at the same time. I use a small stainless smoker box and fill it with hickory pellets and water. I found in cold weather it’s a challenge to manage and takes a while to generate heat, but if you seal up all the leaks (foil or oven gasket) it works really well. For $70 you get what you pay for, but you can get the same results as the big boys. I would also buy a $25 wireless thermometer, you can sit in the house and monitor your brisket while watching the game!

This grill is as great as expected.

Got this grill for my husband. He was so excited that he assembled it right away and bought charcoal and stuff to grill. As soon as the grill started heating up, the outside paint started melting. We could not use it because the burning paint smell was horrendous! I told him to let it burn off all night and we'll see if it's better tomorrow. Not sure if we can still return it as it's assembled and the black bottom paint has all melted by now. I am attaching a photo so everyone can see what a terrible product this is. I would give it zero star but that's not an option. Complete waste of money!

It works and cooks well. The only item that broke during assembly was one of the wheel cap plastic covers.

This grill was relatively easy to assemble, affordable, and exactly what we needed for our grilling needs. We are very happy with this purchase.

The grill was very easy to assemble with no tools needed and looks great to show off with freinds and family.

It's a nice grill if you don't plan on moving it!! The wheels are VERY WOBBLEY!! Other than that it's a nice grill. I wouldn't spend 100 on a grill like this EVER again unless I knew the wheels were more sturdy. It also sits unevenly too. I had to put some folded up cardboard under a wheel or it rocks...

both times the item had damage

When my product arrived it was in a sealed box but after i unboxed it and as i was looking it over i found a few rust spots on it. I am not sure if moisture seeped into the box or I maybe received a product someone had opened and returned.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this in my apartment and space was limited. This thing is pretty heavy duty, great control of temperature, and surprisingly lots of cooking space since it has a square cook surface. Easy to clean with the removable drawer.
