Just picked this up at our local Home Depot. This Kohler round, soft closing toilet replaces our Toto because the soft closing mechanism stopping working after 17 years. I tried to repair the closer but I couldn't find replacement parts and the hack didn't work for me. The installation was easy and it seems fine. I'll report back if there any usage issues especially since the four grandkids will be coming to stay with us for a week (stress testing the soft closer!).

We bought three quiet close Kohler toilet seats for our new home and while two are working well the third was defective. The manufacturer installed screws have come out of the seat and it’s no longer usable.

Be careful when tightening the nuts so as not to strip the threads. Hand-tighten them less tighter than you feel they should be. The nuts are plastic “self centering” slotted nuts. The nuts are slotted to make them “self centering”. This self centering feature is completely pointless, and makes position adjustment impossible. The slots also interrupt the threads, making them more likely to strip. The bolts and nuts from my old seats (Kohler/Sterling Stonewood) are solid, but are thicker and will not fit in the holes in this new seat. I will save them anyways. Beware of the type of hinges (as in the picture) used on the Kohler Ridgewood, Stonewood, Triko seats. I had Stonewood seats. The plastic hinges literally crumble in my hands after 6 years of use (Long enough? But it’s a hassle!) I will keep these Cachet seats because of the hassle. I give it a 1-star rating because of the parts that are designed to fail. The “slow close” feature is also too stiff. Glacier Bay seats were ideal when I installed them years ago, but they aren’t available asap.

The biggest things I like about this product is that it’s comfortable, doesn’t slide or move, and the easy close system. This company is American-based however this product was made in Mexico, but all in all definitely well worth the price. It’s very easy to install but just be sure you don’t over tighten the bracket screws because the snaps will let you know did you’ve overturned the screws but that’s OK because it’s still fastens as well. Just take your time with the screws fastening it to the bowl.

I really like this seat. However, I can not get it positioned squarely on the toilet. It always seems to angle to the left. I’ve removed it and repositioned the screws several times and it always ends up back where it started. Not enough to make me want to replace it, however a dissatisfier every time I look down.

This was a very good product until a year ago. The new batch very poorly constructed. The seat at the hinge seem to rattle due to excess spacing. The mounting screws do not help secure the seat properly in its place. I have bougth the same product from home depot in early 2019 for another bathroom and I was impressed. However the new batch I bought from HomeDepot is not the same quality. I endedup returning it as all on the shelf seem to exhibit the same issue after we ask the HomeDepot Associate to open two more sitting on the shelf and they have the same issue. I was luck to find a older batch from another home improvement store and the old batch is a good fit. Excalty, same UPC # but the older batch is fine, the newer batch is problematic. It looks like Kohler have compromised on the quality. Kohler should recall the newer batch. The older batch which is good , but the newer batch seem to have problem with the mold and the quality of plastic.

Seat looks good and the quite close works great but the seat seams cheap and the cover is very flimsy. If you sit down on the cover it feels like its going to crack. I would recommend going with a solid wood quite close seat.

Toilet seat broke upon installation. It was only the cover for the left side screw, which broke off when I attempted to close it. Broken part doesn't impair usage, but makes me personally emotionally unhappy. Disappointed expectation of product quality. I would not repurchase.

bought this as a replacement when i bought our house in Milton. Looks great, worked well. quiet motion. sometimes you had to separate the parts as you lifted but thats it. sadly it snapped after 6 years between the two supports that touch the toilet when I was sitting on it. wish it had just one more set of stand off supports. not sure what else to buy there are only really cheaper options

The toilet seat was easy to install and works as described only been installed for a week only concern would be how long the quick releases hold up they look a little cheesy

This toilet seat was easy to assemble and looks very nice as toilet seats go.....LOL. The only negative thing I have to say is that I purchased a bathroom sink from Home Depot a couple of years ago in the exact same color and when I got the toilet seat it was a little different shade of color than the sink and they were supposed to be identical. I went ahead and kept it anyway because even though they were different they were close enough for me to be satisfied, even though I was a little disappointed.

Closes slowly and quietly; Very easy to clean.

Very nice product. The plastic is sturdy and well profiled. It closes a bit too slow. I am planning to buy some more to replace existing ones.

The product was easy to install with a perfect fit. My expectations were met 100%.

I ordered this toilet seat with a new Kohler toilet. The fit was nice and installation a breeze. I noticed an indentation across one whole side of the seat right out of the box, like a seam where there should be none. Briefly wondered if this would be a problem down the road; I was right! The other day I sat on it and sure enough, with a loud Craaack, it split open. I reported the obvious defect and the Crack to Kohler; they said because it's out of warranty, the only thing they would do is sell me another one at 50%! Well, they just lost a good customer. This poor customer service is why there are so many other manufacturers on the market.

After exhaustive recon, driving to multiple Kohler dealers, determined porcelain color was "sandbar," ordered through HD who did their job commendably. Color of seats do not match porcelain and there is a lot of side play in the hinges, makes them feel cheap. At almost double the price of a regular toilet seat, you would figure they would be MUCH nicer. I will never again buy Kohler products. Between discontinued colors, inadequate knowledge by ANYONE regarding color codes, and now colors that clearly do not match, you have lost my business.

Blemish found on second toilet seat that was received. I removed or corrected the issue as it would not be seen and by removing the sharp imperfections would ensure no one would cut themselves when cleaning. After mounting the seat if moved right to left much more than the K-4639-47 that was just installed. I contacted Kohler and will receive a replacement in a few days.

Seat looks nice. Closes softly. Easy to clean. Has lasted well. Goes well with the toilet.

In a brand new bathroom, full of Kohler Products, hardly used by non-overweight people, this seat cracked right in half. Warranty now expired so I'm out of luck I guess. Kohler message on phone is that they are too busy to handle calls today. Really, Kohler?

Its a toilet seat. It installed as expected. It closes quietly as expected.

Awful design. The seat looks like it came out of a nursing home, it's extremely high with extra space between each section. The seat itself has a strange design like a funnel which makes it uncomfortable to sit on. It's like flushing $50 down the toilet.

This review is related to the same product that I purchased two years ago that the current purchase replaced because the initial one cracked. While I love the features of this product, a toilet seat should last more than two years. We'll see how this new one and the other two that I purchased a while back (all from Home Depot) for two of my other bathrooms hold up. Unless performing some sort of gymnastics or using a seat for a step;ping stool, a toilet seat should never break!

This is a great looking seat and has the slow close feature. It has a high gloss finish. So be careful cleaning the cover. It is easy to scratch the surface when cleaning it, even with a paper towel. Use a soft cloth and water, no abrasives.

This toilet seat is inexpensive and easy to install. It is also easy to clean, looks nice, and relatively comfortable. However, it is NOT made well. One of ours broke (cracked completely) within 2.5 years, and the other one has a partial crack. I have never had a toilet seat break or crack before. The warranty is only for 1 year so kohler must know they are not made well.

I bought this to match the black Kohler toilet, the seat is more grey than black. For the price I would expect better quality. Then it cracked. I would not recommend this seat
