Not clear that item was a hard wire and did not “plug in, quality seems “cheap” for $89.00, washable filter is very flimsy, but looks nice.

So far the install was super easy. Fit exactly where my extremely old one was. I am no electrician or handy man. But it was a very easy straight to the point install.

not very sturdy and the plastic that holds the light...
not very sturdy and the plastic that holds the light bulb feels like it will just break off. this was inexpensive but I expected the brand to make a basic model that didn't feel cheap.

Thank you for your review of model 423004. This unit is designed to be hard wired into your kitchen but is compatible with the HCK44 Hood Cord Kit if you need to modify the unit to a plug in model. Unfortunately, the light bulb is not included with this model. This hood can support an incandescent bulb up to 75W, allowing the consumer to choose the appropriate brightness for their application. Very clean lines equals a good looking hood. Not the strongest but to be expected at this price point. I just wanted something simple and elegant and able to handle moderate smoke. The one thing I really like though is the light. A LOT. Almost all higher end hoods have built in LED MR16 style or bi-pin bulbs and the light output is just crap. The point is to see the food right? This hood allows you to install any light bulb you want. A 75 Watt LED bulb in the shape of a normal light bulb that you just screw in is incredibly bright! Very happy with this purchase.
