Bought this saw a few months ago for a home renovation project. Since then I’ve come to a few conclusions about this saw. This saw is well packaged and easily recyclable material. Heavier weight gives it a more in a shop feel than a jobsite saw. Amazing ergonomics and powerful. Easily mitered 6x6 PT posts in 2 cuts. One gripe is the safety on the trigger could be easier to use. All around amazing saw and glad to have it in my arsenal.

Worked well, quiet and smooth.... Except when the casting aluminum safety slide broken off from the actual base of the body.... Really horrific design by the engineering team. The process they used to cast the aluminum was not high quality, to porous. Very brittle aluminum. It was so weak the fine thread of the bolt that holds the fence snapped the cast aluminum.. LOL this should absolutely... Never happen. It's literally hand right.. and only one? They have have stuck to their older version of the fence slide. Keep it simple next time please.

I'm sure the product is fine but the packaging was destroyed and it looks like someone else returned the product and Home Depot taped it up and shipped it to me. Upon opening it there were no instructions so I had to assemble it from the picture on the box. After an hour of putting this thing together I find out that one of the rails that holds the saw is missing the pin and c-clip. So I recommend the product just don't buy it from Home Depot.

Owned it for 2 years. Highly recommend but you must a.) upgrade the blade to really hear it sing (CMT or Ridge Carbide), and b.) upgrade the dust collection (etsy after market chute + shopvac with auto on switch + dust cyclone). At that point you will be the envy of all the dads.

2 stars for now. it was delivered on time. it did however, come in a box that must have fallen off the delivery truck a few times before it got to my front door.

I purchased the saw and stand for my small workspace. The saw came all setup for use. The stand assembly instructions made it easy to assemble. I used it the next day to make picture frame step using composite deck material. Worked flawlessly.

Best compound miter saw I’ve had. The arm movement is so smooth. It cut perfect right out of the box. I suggest getting the Bosch stand as well.

Overall this is a great miter saw. I do have some complaints though. First of all, it was square right out of the box. There was minimal setup involved. The gliding mechanism didn't need adjusting. It was very smooth. There is one issue I am noticing. The cuts aren't clean. The blade makes a weird sound. As soon as I hear the sound, I know the cut's going to be off. The blade seems to wobble. The funny thing is that it doesn't always happen. I will make some adjustments to see if I can correct the issue. Also, I knocked off a star because, for the price of this saw you'd think they could include a stop on the extension wings. This saw is replacing an old 10" craftsman miter saw. The only thing that saw had that this one doesn't is the axial glide. I'd expect Bosch to have thought about including that and not make it an after purchase accessory.

I have a custom woodworking shop and have used DeWalt and Hitachi sliding compound saws daily for the last 6-7 years without any major issues. Decided to go with the Bosch this time because of the reviews and the sliding mechanism they designed. We only had the saw for 10 days and the knob that locks down your angle in the front completely snapped and split the metal base where the boards sit. Did not over tighten, it snapped with just being snug. Wouldn't recommend for more than a hobbyist tool

I would still recommend the saw stand I think. Problem is step one with assembly, the holes on one side of a tube don't match up with the other so a bolt has no way to go through in a perpendicular manner, the bolt obviously cannot go through at an angle. I am disappointed that I have to get a drill out and drill a hole correctly and it will be half drilling into a hole and half out of it which is not easy to do and will not be as strong. Is this stuff really that hard to produce. Is there any quality control?

Bosch miter saw is almost perfect except it misses shadow line or laser. To build one, you need Dewalt N030317 Work Light, 5V AC to DC converter at least 0.45mA (1.5"L x 0.77"W x 0.6"H), a switch (or one from Dewalt Miter Saw Power Supply N078832)

Expensive but solid. Took a while to assemble but I am pleased with it. My brother commented that he hasn't seen a pro with a better set up. I'm a novice.

This was my dream saw. After saving for a while, I finally decided to get this saw after playing around with the sample saw at Home Depot. This saw provides a great reach and glide with the axial glide system so I’m able to keep it against the wall and save a lot of room. The glide was smooth and I didn’t feel any play when sliding back and forth, but I could see an issue if you’re forcing the saw through a cut. The biggest problem I have with this saw is that Bosch made a lot of changes to the saw and it does not show in the product picture OR the sample product at the store. The picture you see is the older model, the newer model is missing a chunk of metal from the fence (both sides), missing the button for the detent lock, and they changes the safety switch from the handle. The last part is the biggest issue for me since I have small hands, the handle itself is pretty large already, but having the safety switch underneath the handle means I have to slide my hand up and down in order to get the saw to start. My wife has to use both hands since she cant reach at all! Way to go Bosch! Again, I think for a $700 saw I think it should include at least a laser (I know the European models do) and a locking clamp. Sadly, this saw is going back to Home Depot and I will be picking up a different saw. Shame, I had such high hopes for this saw.

Although it came with no instructions it was easy to assemble. I returned Makita’s most expensive stand and got this one. This one is the perfect one to get the job done. Built very tough. It is absolutely worth the price.

The best thing that sets this saw over others is the axial glide mechanism, which is simply put superb. The glide mechanism unlike the steel bar extensions which as they accumulate dust/grime get more difficult to slide. The glide mechanism also saves you about 12 inches in front to back space. Additionally, it has extension wings that come out on both sides which do not come with most saw on the market. I have the gen 2 version of this model, which differs from original mainly in the adjustable fence that has a cut-out in the middle for the hold down clamp to come tru. The hold down clamp is simply put disappointing and useless. The very first upgrade i made was purchasing a better blade like a 80-100 tooth crosscut blade (freud/diablo). Second was making a zero clearance insert plate out of plywood. Finally, a mobile miter saw station. Dust collection definitely needs an upgrade like a larger rubber dust chute. Does NOT come with a laser line or shadow line, unless you upgrade it after purchase. The saw needed some minor adjustments in the 0 degree detent which wasn’t difficult. What would make this saw better would be to: better hold down clamp, better dust collection, a shadow line for blade cutline indicator.

I’m a finish woodworker and I was looking to replace my old delta chop saw. I’ve had it for ever and this is just what I needed. This saw cut great out of the box (the free blade is ok) but I put on a diablo 100 tooth blade and it’s amazing.

Design and quality are both exceptional. The sliding (gliding) mechanism is the best among all sliding miter saws - smooth, short travel with little weight shift to the front (hence stability when mounted on a mobile stand). That's the feature that wins me over. It's heavy, 65+ lbs., while nothing on the saw is less than professional: fence, controls, knobs, controls, etc. It should have included the laser guide at this price but it's not a show stopper. It's a true professional tool for any project. I use my existing Ryobi stand and it woks fine with this saw.

Great folding stand. Fits Hitachi 12" compound miter sliding saw perfectly, model C12RSH2. I've purchased, assembled and tested this stand with the two available Hitachi stands and this one is worth the extra $$$. You can't fold up the Hitachi stands with saw attached BUT this one you can. Sturdy like the Hitachi stands but more function and easily folded and stored in garage. TIP: put saw in 45 angle position and push saw to rear position on slide and lock into place prior to folding it with the stand or be ready for an abrupt clunk as the saw slides towards the lowest position towards floor.

Bosch tools have never failed me. This miter and stand is worth every penny. The unit is on the heavier side but I understand it's because of the quality materials used. Cuts are accurate right out of the box. Includes a work clamp which is a nice option for long boards. The axial glide is unbelievably smooth throughout the entire cut. Having a clear blade guard allows for complete visibility when you making precise cuts. Would recommend over my old dewalt setup. 5 stars all day brahs

I've been shopping for a foldable/rollable miter saw stand for about 1 year, waiting to find the right mix of features and price. I'd seen the Bosch Gravity Rise T4B on youtube and was impressed by the simplicity in setup. Of course, you never know until you buy it and try it. I was in Home Depot and they had two of these at the Alpharetta GA store on clearance for $210. Went back the next day in my pickup to buy one as I was on my motorcycle the first day. Very happy with the purchase. Assembly took about 1 hour and my Makita XLS06 fit the mounts perfectly. Folding gravity rise feature is great and once folded, moving the saw around on the wheels is super easy. Seems very well constructed and provides a solid, shake-free working base. Definitely a great deal from the clearance rack at THD!

I have had this stand for a few days and it is amazing. It comes in several pre-assembled parts that need to be bolted together. I am extremely impressed with how solid the stand and extensions feel. It is nice to have the saw on this stand in my small garage so I can fold it up and roll it out of the way. I have no doubt that this will be a rock-solid and mobile base for my miter saw for many years to come.

Have had this saw now for 5 years. It's used for all installations. I've been a cabinet maker for 25 plus years doing mainly higher end kitchens and wall units with heavy 2 stage crown molding. The saws capacity is the reason why I bought it...plus having all the controls up front is a must if your constantly switching from left to right and tilting the head for the compound cuts required for crown trim. Also having the special detente locks just for crown molding makes mistakes not possible as it can only go into these detentes once in crown molding mode. As far as the deflection goes, once the deflection starts it typically means the blade is dulling.Our blades are switched out every 3 installs depending on material cut and quantity. we only use 100 tooth ATB as a minimum blade requirement in FULL KERF format. Regarding the discussed accuracy issue, if you really want accurate cuts in any saw use a five cut rotating fence set up...it can get the accuracy below 5 thousands of an inch out of diagonally square...it does take time though but it is well work it. It's also incredibly smooth with no resistance at all. Definitely worth the money

Well built, useful and easy to put together.

Wonderful upgrade from my old miter saw, quieter, takes up less room on my workbench, the additional cost for the axial glide system is worth it.

Setup perfect right out of the box. Very quiet compared to my last saw. Dust collection could be better but haven't hooked it up to a vacuum yet. Was able to push cabinets a foot closer to the wall versus where my 10 inch saw sat because of the glide system.

While very heavy, the saw itself is quite nice. It needed some truing out of the box, but that was to be expected - especially given the condition of the box. I ended up having to buy two of these because the first one came in damaged so rather than return it and then wait for the credit and then reorder, I just ordered another with the intentions of returning it to the store when the new one came in. Well, the second one came in in even worse shape. - Seriously Bosch, can't you pack a heavy and expensive saw any better? Seriously UPS - can't you not throw these things around like toys? I ended up taking apart both saws and putting together one good one rather than buying a third. Saw gets 4 stars UPS gets -10 stars Bosch gets 0 stars for poor packaging.

I need a stand that is both mobile and consumes minimal floor space. This one does both, but stretches out to support long stock when needed. It was a good investment. Lastly... it was easy to assemble...and i built a cut-off box that slides under the base of the stand to hold wood scraps.

The Gravity rise stand completed my new Bosch miter saw. Easy to assemble. Easy to use. Only down side is it would be nice with bigger wheels , and a built in power strip would be awesome too.
