better than expected
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am 66 years old and was cleaning out my home shop to sell the house, The floor had an industrial oil based finish but I thought I would give this a try. I first used sealkrete lockdown a bonding primer applied with a sponge mop. 2 hours later I applied the concrete paint and got a hard good looking finish. I put on a second coat the next day and achieved a great finish thar still looks like new. Now my wife wants me to do the entire basement so I should probably take a star off because it might be a little too good! If you know what I mean?

Hello lefty33, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you're running into some bleed through issues with your coating. If you've retouched the areas already and the yellow stain continues to bleed through, it's best to complete remove the paint in the affected areas, spot clean and degrease, spot etch, spot prime, and touch up. I've reached out to you via email as well to assist you further. Have a wonderful day! -Joanna

            Hot tire peel
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Read directions and applied driveway paint. I let it dry for seven days and pulled my vehicle on to it. Pulled out the next day and there was a peel under my driver side tire. I did all that was in directiions. I would not recommend at this time unless there is something I can do to correct this problem. I used four gallons on ti. I purchased six gallons.

              Garage Floor
Bought the Behr Paint on a Suggestion from the employee at the local Box Store, i followed all the instructions with preparation and I have done this before with great results, different product. We did not drive on it for 7 full days, it was fine the first week and than I washed the floor and it peeled up in abut 10 places. I have a new 30X40 Garage and it looked great and I am so disappointed. I read the reviews but only after I had already bought and applied the paint.

              Hi there,

Thank you for your review, and I am sorry you’re having a peeling issue in such a short amount of time. For cleaning, we do recommend waiting at least 30 days to let the product cure. Since the product is sensitive during the curing process, cleaning beforehand may cause issues. However, to fix, we’d suggest sanding off any of the loose coating. Once the affected areas have been smoothed out, then spot etch and spot prime any bare concrete areas. Afterward, feel free to do any touch-ups or apply a full coat for uniformity. To help turn this experience around, I’ll be sending you a separate email. Please keep an eye out for it, as it sometimes can go to your junk inbox. –Edith
                NOT epoxy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sure, they call it epoxy. I don't know what it is. Most likely acrylic that was mixed in a plant that had an epoxy floor. This paint does not adhere like epoxy, and does not harden like epoxy. It acts more like latex than anything else. It dries in maybe an hour and peels up from concrete easily even weeks later. It is water cleanup and one part. Nope, not epoxy. I think they take latex or acrylic, increase the price, and call it epoxy. It isn't even close, in my experience. Now I get to peel up two floors of it and recoat with actual epoxy. Joy.

                Hello Tholius,
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your paint didn’t adhere like you were expecting it to. Our 1-Part Epoxy Concrete & Garage Floor Paint is a water-based epoxy coating. Our epoxy paint should dry to a hard finished once completely cured.

To fix the peeling on your floor, we’d recommend removing all the loose paint before cleaning and recoating. We would suggest spot etching and spot priming any bare uncoated concrete areas before recoating with your paint to ensure proper adhesion.

I’ve reached out to directly via email as well to assist further. Have a wonderful day! -Joanna

                      My driveway looks almost new!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used BEHR PREMIUM 1-Part Epoxy Concrete and Garage Floor Paint on my concrete driveway and was pleasantly surprised at how great it worked. I opted for the darkest gray color to complement the Clary Sage of the house exterior. All the neighbors were driving their golf carts back and forth on the street to take a look at the job. It's held up well and cleans up easily with a brush and water. I'm very satisfied with this product and would highly recommend it.

                          Very Dissapointed
How do I feel about this product? IT IS TERRIBLE! A complete waste of time. 20 years ago I had cleaned, etched, and painted my concrete Liani floor with Flex Bond ship bottom grey stain. It lasted beautifully for the past twenty years, but it was looking a little dull so we decided to paint it again. However this time we used Behr 1 part epoxy concrete garage and floor paint. I pressure washed the floor first to make sure it was free from grease, oil, and dirt! After painting and leaving the floor to dry for 3 weeks, we had our Laini re-screened? Much to our dismay, The paint began peeling and the sneaker marks from the man doing the work won't come off areas of the floor that hasn't peeled yet? What is going on? it would be really nice to get some feed back from Behr!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just painted our garage floor. , and I absolutely love it! It was easy to put on .. We etched it, and applied primer. Right now waiting the week before pulling the cars into the garage. Very pleased with it. Will update, once we drive on and see how it hold ups. But, for now couldn't be happier with it.!

                                Something's Changed
I painted my garage floor with Behr's Concrete & Garage Floor Paint back in 2005. Over the years, it has started to show wear and look a but grungy so recoated with the same (but different) product. Followed the directions to the letter and after 7 days, pulled the cars back into the garage. Each tire left a big black image of the tread and it does not wash off. Even the bicycle tires leave black marks. Anything that's rubber leaves ugly marks. Then a hose leak leaves a puddle and when I go to wipe up the water, the paint is lifting up like it's softening from the water. This latter issue was more than 2 weeks after application. This isn't epoxy. It's nothing put latex paint. A real disappointment as the original product used held up very well. To add insult to injury, I highly recommended it to a friend based on my past experience. He is having similar problems.

Easy to apply and looks good. Poor bonding characteristics. Now that I have it down, I have to remove all of it completely (not fun) and get another product or live with a substandard product. Not pleased at all!

We are sorry to hear about your experience. In reading your review, it sounds like the paint isn’t bonding to the floor. As the manufacturer, this is not something we want our customers to experience with our product. To fix this, we recommend sanding any areas that have peeled up, spot etching and priming them, then touching up with more paint. If the peeling is happening to the majority of the floor though, the best solution would be to remove the paint, etch and prime the floor, then recoat it. A customer care representative has reached out to you directly to help and also provide some tips.
                                      not durable for normal use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I followed the instructions and used this paint for my concrete carport, front porch and rear screened patio I applied 2 coats with 24 hours dry time in between and allowed it to dry for over a week before parking or placing patio furniture. There were tire marks in the carport within days of parking The patio is scratched up from moving light patio furniture Front porch is scratched from who knows what? maybe a package delivery? dog feet? your guess is as good as mine My brother has also used the same paint in his garage twice with the same results as above We are in south Florida so maybe it's not good for humid climates? Not sure why this is sold as durable garage because it is certainly not that I guess it's better than nothing but certainly not a good product

Hired a painter (bonded) to finish my garage to include paining the ceiling, walls and floor. Everything looked perfect. We waited two weeks before putting anything in the garage. The first night we left our car there the paint peeled up with the tires of a Honda Civic. DISAPPOINTED.

                                            Ignore the bad reviews
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I painted my basement floor 3 years ago and it looks like the day I finished painting, even in high traffic areas. Success with these coatings is 100% dependent on following instructions and prepping the floor correctly. I can guarantee that the guy who brought the house and had peeling paint had a previous owner who slapped a coat on to look good, but failed to clean, degrease, and etch properly. This is great paint.

                                              DO NOT USE! Ever...!
Run away from this product! The fact that there are five star reviews is a travesty. I purchased a house where it had been used recently, and within three weeks of closing it started to peel EVERYWHERE. Removal from concrete is expensive, imperfect, and awful. Just read the product's label! It says DO NOT use where exposed to "hydrostatic pressure." That means "the weight of water." But it's billed as "exterior" paint, perfect for pool side patios. Buy something better (which will most likely mean more expensive; this is an inappropriate price point for exterior walkway or patio paint). If you don't, it will be an expensive mistake.

                                                Something wrong with this product
I have used this paint several times with great success however something has changed. It now takes twice as much as before to cover an area and repeated coatings. The worst part is the pigments separate after product is applied to the floor so it looks streaked. I could not believe my eyes. At first I figured it was me so I stirred the paint thoroughly then put a small amount in the pan stirred it again and then almost immediately the pigments began to separate. This was product I used hours after purchase.

                                                  Do Not Use
Purchased this for our garage floor and our basement floor. Turned out OK on our basement floor. Our garage floor is horrible. We followed instructions exactly. We didn't put anything heavy in our garage for over a month - didn't even park our cars in it since we wanted to make sure it set and wouldn't peel up. Even two months after the application, we were still finding new spots where the paint came off. It especially is coming off under our tires. We don't even have huge, heavy cars! Now we're waiting through the winter but have to figure out how to fix it when the weather gets nicer. It'll be hard to fix just the spots since the speckling/painting will become uneven. I would not recommend this product.

Painted walls with Behr's waterproof paint over a previous coat of Drylock. Covered well and looks good. Re-painted my basement floor after thirty years with an acrylic enamel from another mfgr. Cleaned the floor, used Behr's Cleaner and Etcher to scrub it again. Put down two coats with a several-day dry time between. Project dragged out over several months, but the first areas done already are wearing through the new paint. Usage is only with an office chair with casters, and slippers or sneakers. The rest of my house has been painted with Behr's products, sometimes more than once, with great results. Very disappointed in the basement paint.
