This stain is beautiful. It was the same stained used in our house 15 years ago and has lasted this long. I have refinished our deck so far and will finish the rest of the house. I wish it came in 5 gallon buckets and I'm hoping as the supply was limited that you all will continue to sell it.

Put up a new fence. Went excellent. We went with the cedar Stain from Behr, transparent. Came out excellent. We also used the Wagner 3000 to spray. Worked out great.

Behr Deckplus Cedar Naturaltone Transparent Waterproofing Exterior Wood Finish was worth the money. I wanted a clear sealer for my cedar fence but bought the wrong stuff. It was a little darker than I planned on at first but now I really like the way it looks. It went on easily and covered well. I am going to do my deck in it next..

We applied this Wood Finish on the children's playset we built and it has protected the lumber and finish for over a year without fading or rotting. All wood outdoors should be treated with this product as it protects and looks much better than raw wood.

Last summer we bought this product for a new 12' x 20' cedar deck to maintain the look of natural wood. Followed the application instructions. After one winter the product is failing. The coating is peeling, and there is mold growth on the decking. I will now need to strip and sand my deck. Find another product that will hold up. Don't waste your time or money. Buy a higher quality product.

We're sorry to hear your transparent stain is peeling and not holding up as you expected it to; that's not the experience we want our customers to have with our products. To fix the peeling on your deck, we would recommend removing all the loose stain before cleaning your surface with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner (to prep and clean the mold off your surface), allowing it to dry for at least 24 hours, touching up the bare areas, and doing an overall recoat to reseal your surface. If more than half of your coating has peeled, we'd recommend completely stripping it off before cleaning and re-staining your cedar deck. Customer satisfaction is important to us. I really like this stain. Nice color and goes on easy. It says clear but it's actually a really nice natural wood color. Being on my own makes for a lot of time restraints so it would be a little nicer if it didn't require 2 coats for full cure but definitely not a deal breaker. Great quality for a decent price.

I do not no if this has a shelf life but we bought 20 gallons all together and some of it when you opened it was hard and dried up on the bottom we lost about 5 gallons total and had to sand half of our fence because the gallons that were hard went on and did not foak in it was a horrible experience so check your gallons before you leave home Depot with them

Hello Jeansmith, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear some of your stain seemed to be dried up and clumpy; that's not the performance we expect from our products. To ensure proper stain consistency, we'd recommend stirring your coating for 3-5 minutes before using it. If there are still visible lumps in the can, even after mixing, we wouldn't suggest using it. To fix any uneven/textured areas on your fence, we'd recommend sanding the surface down with 150-grit sandpaper before cleaning it with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner, allowing it to dry, and recoating it.
