Light pole is exactly what I needed, and arrived in perfect shape!

Easy to follow instructions and good quality.

The pole arrived in good condition. The matte black paint finish was uniform. It was cradled in six pieces of Styrofoam at the ends and middle of the box, although the pole punched through the thin square pieces of foam at the ends of the box. I purchased this pole for several reason. I wanted to be able to position my photocell and an Acclaim convenience outlet on the same side of the post, but posts that come equipped with both have them on opposite sides of the post. This post allowed me to cut holes where I needed to put the devices. Also, I wanted my ladder rest positioned near the top of the post. If you buy a post that comes with a ladder rest, you will find that they position it 9 inches or more than below the top of the post. I’ll likely change out the Acclaim convenience outlet for another brand since I can’t get a plug all the way into it and the socket moves around in the frame when trying to remove a plug. They advertise that the post will not rust, which is true because the post is aluminum not steel; however, aluminum corrodes, much like steel rusts. The biggest issue is that this new post is much thinner than the one it replaced, which lasted for 28 years before a stumbling drunk broke it off below the ground level because it was corroded. Since the material is thinner I don’t expect it to last as long as the original one. I installed it at the same height as my old post, so 28 inches of the post are below grade. I did not set it in concrete; there was no need to do so. I compacted the sandy soil with a 2X4 as I backfilled the hole and it is quite sturdy. I did, however, wrap the underground portion with Peel & Seal, an aluminum flashing material with a rubberized asphalt adhesive to protect it from being in direct contact with the alkaline, sandy soil here in Florida. To protect the post from string trimmers, I removed the metal band from a 3 inch Fernco neoprene shielded coupling and wrapped it around the base using the attached hose clamps. Overall, it looks good.

Post ordered online and delivered to our home. It came well packaged and undamaged, installation was a breeze! Expectations met, if not exceeded. The price was good, less expensive than other posts.

Great Post. Purchasing online from Homer was almost as easy as purchasing at the store. The post arrived lightning fast. The post is well finished, sturdy, and easy to handle. Nice finish. The directions are thorough and easy to follow. My Gama LED Solar Post Light fit it perfectly. The post is planted and the light is on. I'm happy.

Just what I expected.

The pole had a dent in it and was left with a decision to install it or return and wait for a new one.

This post was just what I needed to replace 1 of 20 in our condo complex. It doesn't have the cross bar and so that was a plus. Our installers cam and put it in with the light fixture on top and it looks great.

Did exactly what we wanted it to do.

I didn't want a two piece pole, and that's why I ordered this pole. It was sturdy, and I liked that it was lightweight and one piece. It was one of the longer poles I saw online. Burying it 12 inches, it was still a perfect length to put the light on it. Looks great.

Just a regular post - worked great

The product was dented when I recieved it, but not bad enough to use. However, I returned it because the light was not working.

We ordered online because none of the local stores carried a single piece lamp post without a crossbar in store. The first post we received had visible damage due to handling. The packaging was insufficient (not double boxed) and there was a 2-3 inch dent in the center of the post. We had a replacement post sent. It arrived over a week later with no way to expedite as it was coming directly from the manufacturer. There was no visible damage to the packaging this time, but upon inspection there were 3 or 4 small dents around the middle of the post. In addition to the dents, the black coating was flawed. It appeared that the pole wasn't properly cleaned before the black coating was applied-causing a very, very unsmooth finish with noticeable buildup under the paint. Needless to say, we returned the second post and did not re-order for a third try through HomeDepot.com.
