The top soil delivered to my central MD home was a good mix of inorganic (dominant fraction) and organic material. I preferred it over the commercially available bagged material which is usually mostly organic material. It had been screened and was easy to spread. I ordered 5 cy but was able to arrange to have only 3 cy delivered.

Cover sone holes, house sides, fence, around shed and front.

The topsoil was good and perfect for a new lawn. The delivery and the drive was very courteous. Would order again in the future.

Soil quality was great, not to much clay... although mine had a lot of backfill such as Styrofoam and old house pieces

Several reviews mention receiving topsoil of substandard quality, which seems to depend on the store. The 10 cubic yards delivered to me by the East Lansing, MI, store were of excellent quality. Friendly delivery, in addition. I am very satisfied.

Topsoil with fist size rocks? Minimal organic material? Dumped by truck without checking into the site? They got you!

Soil was exactly as website described. They were flexible with choosing a delivery date and time. Product was delivered when expected and the dump truck driver was nice. They could not dump it as far back as we wanted because of overhead power lines, but they did tell us to check for those originally. Seems a bit expensive for dirt, but what do I know about dirt pricing….

I was very impressed by Home Depot's communication throughout the whole process, as well as the quality of top soil (which I imagine varies considerably by location). The driver did an excellent job keeping all 8 yards in the driveway with minimal spillover into the grass. Prior to this, I've ordered upwards of 30 yards of top soil from other providers and this has been the highest quality batch so far. While there was some clay in here, it mostly breaks down fairly easily and isn't cause for concern.

Ordered 10 cubic yards and was very pleased with the soil, driver, price and HD free delivery. Most definitely will order from them in the future here in Jersey.

We used this topsoil around our yard where we needed serious landscaping for drainage. The delivery took about 45 minutes because half of the dirt stuck in the dump truck. However, I was well informed about when it would arrive and the delivery man was amiable.

This was rich brown soil. No rocks, limbs or trash in it. The driver did an excellent job of placing the load right where we wanted it. We were very pleased.

The process is smooth, they confirmed my request in advance, and made adjustments to delivery date and time and location, very convenient, definitely recommed

Sourced locally so expect different dirt depending on area. Was super good quality top soil black.

Ordered seven yards to split with a neighbor for some general leveling. Did most of the scheduling via text message, and it was very easy. Driver showed up and helped me set a tarp down and dumped. Very easy over all!

The product was bulk at a good price; much better than buying a bag at the local box store. Came early, driver very nice and called to set an appointed drop off time. He worked with me to get it dropped where I wanted it. Also knowledgeable about the product: where it came from, how it was processed and if it contained fertilizer, weed seeds, etc. The top soil was super heated and has a slightly burned smell, but not offensive. The heat kills weed seeds (hopefully). The top soil was easy to wheelbarrow and spread to quarter/half inch depth with a leaf rake. I watered it in and 2 days later have seeded grass.

The top soil that was delivered has massive amounts of rocks and large sticks/twigs. It looks more like recycled mulch than top soil. will not order from them again.

I have been trying for 2 years to get topsoil from local landscapers without any success. Home Depot added bulk purchasing and I received a truckload of screen topsoil less than a week later and at half the price of what I was quoted from other companies! There wasn't 1 rock or twig anywhere in the dirt. Very quick and easy.

Had 5 Cu Yds of topsoil delivered and we were very pleased with the quality. No rocks, just dirt. Better quality than what you get in the bags at the store. Delivery was delayed a week, probably due to weather, and was communicated effectively by Home Depot. Setting up the delivery was easy. All in all, I would purchase this again if I needed to.

The soil I received had a lot of clay, bugs, and a few pieces of CD scattered throughout. Worked well when combined with my sandy soil and the trees seemed to like it.

My experience was excellent. They dropped off the dirt right where I wanted. I didn't realize how much 5 yards of dirt was until I shoveled it lol.

I purchase 5 yards of top soil. It was delivered. This is not top soil. It is made of waste products. paper filler, trash and tree bark. It was sprayed with something black. When it rained it washed off the black from the paper. Leaving white paper bulk. It is unusable. It's as if home depot came and dump a load of trash in my yard. I don't know how to get rid of it. I want a refund. Do not buy this product. It is not top soil. How can I get my money back. It is shameful to sell such a product as top soil.

Was reluctant to try it. But when they arrived with the soil driver was extremely courteous. Quality of the soil very good I would use them again. Would refer this service to my Friends and family

The product was delivered appropriately. It was a local dealer; so Home Depot served as a middle man. However, the material wasn't true top soil. It was fill dirt. It had lots of clay and had aluminum cans and debris in it. It isn't like the bagged top soil that you get at Home Depot that have different named brands. Read the fine print. There are no organics. And it is only for filling areas. Non-returnable. Would not buy this or any other bulk materials again.

For completing moderate sized garden projects, the bulk topsoil here is good value. The soil was delivered in a timely fashion, and the delivery driver was very courteous and helpful.

The 5 cubic yards of dirt I ordered was delivered fast and efficiently. Shipping was originally estimated at about 3 weeks out, but I was contacted after only a week for to schedule the delivery for a day I preferred. The day came and it was pouring rain out, they contacted me saying the could still deliver but worried it would be mud and offered to reschedule if it was convenient for me also and we arranged for another day. All around great customer service from start to finish! Would definately do business again with home depot's bulk department!
